I know I can't be the only fan of strategic games, whether for console or for the PC. My personal favorites are StarCraft and Alpha Centauri, but I have a number of them on my system that I play every once in a while. I usually play a defensive war initially followed by a crushing offensive to cripple the opponent - it's relishing to see multiple attacks from the enemy fail at the hands of my defenses and to see them waste those resources, then for me to retaliate with a crushing blow.
What about you? Do you enjoy the thinking and calculation required to be successful in a campaign? If so, what is your favorite style of play - the blitz, or the war of attrition? Maybe in between, like myself?
Edit: I forgot about board games entirely. Chess is a good example, noted below in another post.

I play Evony. I play strategy games for the strategical value of them, mostly. Plus, the feeling of CRUSHING your opponet on a mental, and skill level is amazing. I also used to play DoTa... Fun times. ;D

I've played Evony but I lost interest in it. Couldn't be bothered to be on all the time to build troops and such. Not sure what DoTa is. o.O

I love a good tactical RPG. I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics and it's sequel for years off and on!

Dungeons and Dragon...
What? You need strategy in order to play it!

That's very true actually; I've played it a little myself. I'd love to get back into it but I wouldn't know where to start looking for a group.

I've always been enamored with strategy games, as long as they catch my interest. I've recently picked up a Strategy/RPG game from Atlus called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.
It has strategy elements to it, with planning where your characters should go, as well as how to move them and what to attack.
I also really like Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem is my favorite series and has been for so long I'm rather glad that it's starting to get recognition. Path of Radiance in particular is soooo good.
Pokemon is also one I rather like. Something about "bonding" with one these little critters just gives me the warm fuzzies.
