Family dog is 6-7 years old Labrador Retriever that is a bit over weight. Started walking her for about a week now at night time. She is not that used to walking a lot, so is it safe to exercise her twice a day?

How has she been handling the walks so far? As long as she doesn't show any negative reactions, it'll probably be ok to go ahead and add a second walk in. Just not too long at first, you have to gradually build up to the point where she can take longer, harder walks. It's a good thing that you've taken responsibility and started walking her, her life will be much happier with exercise involved!
