kpop ftw!! > biggrin i tried listening to jpop b4, just couldnt get into it as much as kpop razz otherwise i'd just listen to some anime openings XP

They both have their good qualities. Can't really put one over the other since they're not all that similar in my ears.
I personally prefer J-pop/rock simply for the reason that I'm more familiar with the language than with Korean.
Can't remember which I encountered first when it came to music... I know that I was mixing up my Japanese with Korean back then. I think I listened to The Pillows first, then ran into DBSK by chance (didn't know that was Korean at the time. xD), then flew off with the J-rock (yes, rock and not pop).
I'm probably biased. :'3
