Today I had to make an emergency trip to petsmart. One of my glass catfish suddenly passed last night. I didn't have time to wait though, because as I only had two at the time, the one would have died. So I went and got two glass catfish this time. I had planned to get at least 3, but I bought two to make sure they could live in my tank, even though I had all the right water and stuff.
So while I was there I got my catfish, and here's a pic

They're rainbowy when the light hits them the right way...

but of course, I couldn't stop at just two fish you know. I had been planning to get one of these any way since the passing of dear mr. fishy the third, or whatever his name was. I hadn't actually named him. I got this beauty.


He's a half moon, and of course he wouldn't fan out for the pics... He's actually blue, not green. I love how he's striped almost.

lol I love transparent animals.

I dunno. I think it needs to be something elegant because he looks really elegant. Like he's some grand duchess or something wearing a flowing blue dress, when he swims and whatnot.

*Drools* What a lovely betta. I always like to admire the ones we've got in our store, but I have one tank and my beautiful, temperamental Poseidon currently owns that territory.

I like names involving astronomy and mythology (which, a lot of names are taken from mythology). Galileo sounds like a nice name. Ooh, or maybe Altair, brightest star in its constellation. Aeolus, ruler of wind. Deimos or Phobos, personifications of terror and horror (which are pretty fitting for many bettas wink ).

And, just 'cause I'm currently playing Skyrim, the Elder Scroll series has a lot of good names in their mythology. Here is a list. 3nodding
