The string of irregularly large trees that border the Land of Fire and the Eastern part of the UHV territory. Although maneuverable, this wall of trees is rather burdensome for travel, and very rarely used as a means to cross into the nearly forgotten Land of Autumn. Even the beasts of the forest find it unbearable to use such a path. More often than not, civilians and Ninja alike visit their side of the Forest Skirts for recreational activities, as it is actually one of the safer locations in the country, though military patrols are fairly common.

Jae ended up here, this heavily packed forest area seemed to satisfy her needs perfectly. She could train in peace out here while waiting for the next part of the exams. First she needed to rest up a little bit and so she walked over to the base of a large tree trunk. She took a seat, pressing her back up against the ancient tree. Closing her eyes she just took in the noise around her and the silence. It was great for clearing her mind and within a few minuets she began to doze off. Her expression was serene as she napped, the nightmares she had been scared of having were no existent here. It was as if her problems meant nothing in this area and she felt peaceful for the first time in awhile.

After having slept for a good hour or so, Jae woke with a start, sitting up ram rod straight. She looked around her, disorientated. Slowly her memory returned to her and she relaxed leaning her back up against the tree's trunk. Stretching she yawned, covering her mouth as she did so. Her eyes watered and she groaned lightly as she continued stretching. The nap had done her wonders but she still felt as if that was nowhere near enough for her. Getting to her feet after a few seconds of simply sitting there she decided it was time to practice a few more jutsu. She was worried she wouldn't be up to par with everyone else and would rather know too much than too little.

[1/7] Stretching her arms she decided to go with something she had read about back in the Academy. Perusing the scrolls she had found a technique that had potential for being useful to her. Not all of the time could one be aware of what other tricky shinobi were up to and especially since she was weak against one specific technique. With this technique in her arsenal she would have some sort of heads up prior to being hit.
[2/7]It would give her the chance she needed to avoid dealing with a direct hit. I'll never have to be saved again... She thought to herself, wanting to rid herself of that feeling altogether. It was imperative for her to know this, now that she considered it from an objective viewpoint.
[3/7] Going through the hand signals slowly, she didn't activate her chakra right off the bat. This technique had to be executed properly the first time or it wouldn't work properly. She repeated the hand sign process twice more before feeling satisfied that she knew the movement enough to not make any mistakes.
[4/7] Completing the sequence she activated her chakra this time, she completed the jutsu. Jae became acutely aware of her surroundings suddenly, the sensation a little overwhelming at first. The currents in the wind were flowing through her, informing her of information that she should not be aware of until after it had happened. A leaf falling and hitting the ground prior to it's decent before her and rustling of bushes before they had even been tasseled by the stray winds around her.
[5/7] It was an odd sensation that she wanted to put to the test. Summoning two clones she ordered them to attack her with simple Jutsu, to test her new Jutsu. They nodded and moved a bit away from her, watching her with serious expressions. The first one disappeared right before Jae's eyes. Automatically Jae recognized her own Jutsu and tensed. Before her clone even appeared, Jae pivoted to the right, producing her Kunai. Her clone parred with her own unsheathed weapon, Jae ecstatic about her new jutsu.
[6/7] The other clone decided to use something a little different, activating her own jutsu and summoning her whips of water. Jae got ready to defend. The clone lashed out, Jae dodging toward the left when she felt a gentle brush of wind flit across her bare skin on that side. The whip cracked, missing her by nanometers. She was impressed. Jutsu like these could be warded against quite easily.
[7/7] Now the only thing to test this out against was something more grand scale. Jae was sure that this technique would not be able to override something that was extremely powerful. Dodging would not be enough sometimes but this felt as if she had learned a sixth sense. The sensation began to die down somewhat, Jae feeling as if she had just lost one of her main senses. She felt depth, blind and unfeeling to the world all at once.

[1/7] Jae summoned a large body of water around her. It would serve her purpose to have done this. This next Jutsu could aid her as well when it came to dealing with Katon Jutsu. She took a deep breath and repeated the same steps as her preparation for her previous practiced and then learned Jutsu. It took her a moment to clear her mind but she accomplished just that with a little bit of her meditation techniques.

[2/7] She went through the hand signals then. Going through them slowly as they appeared in her mind. The last time she had seen this technique she almost missed the hand signals and had to search through her mind a little more. Photogenic memory was a curse as much as it was god sent. She could remember anything she saw immediately but storing and organizing was a different skill altogether. The more recent the easier it was for her to recall information.

[3/7] After gaining the right momentum from the movements she paused, looking around her. She was sure the creatures of this forest were smart enough to flee in the presence of a Shinobi. She didn't want to be the cause of the destruction of the wildlife around her. As she moved into the jutsu she went through the hand signals for real this time, moving with practiced speed and ease.

[4/7] Activating her chakra she felt drained as a large amount of it was expended to enact this one jutsu. The water around her churned and then began to circle her while gaining it's momentum and volume. Jae stayed in place, flinching as she felt the water being sucked in around her into the one torrent she had summoned. It was almost like the effect of a tidal wave.

[5/7] All at once the water erupted in a flurry of action. A large body of water surged forward, creating a menacing type of force going forward. She could only imagine what that water would like like to someone trying to attack her head on. But that was not why she would use it.

[6/7] Jae was learning this technique in order to overpower any type of Katon Jutsu that might cause her to freeze up. She couldn't fight the fear head on but she could defend against it. Just imagining the fire surrounding her elicited memories of the fire that almost took her life. It had been the one moment in her life where she ever cried out for help. Her parents had saved her in the nick of time but not before she forever grew traumatized by that event.

[7/7] Her anxiety seemed to grow the more she thought about it and she finished off the jutsu, sending the torrent of water forward until it crashed down around the trees, surging forward until it had run out of speed and volume to carry it forward anymore. The water spread out in a pool in the new area, Jae admiring her work for a moment. She needed a walk before she continued with her last minuet training.

----------From the Main Court----------

Finding a nook inside one of the trees, Nekita's hand slipped on the trunk. Tumbling inside, the warmth of the earth around her would keep her fine until the spasm stopped, far away from prying camera eyes. At least that's what she had hoped. "Whyyyyyy!!!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, collapsing into & out from consciousness. The information recorded from the two people she had met, Bast & Zyonu, was simply too much to handle, and Nekita was having problems keeping herself from lapsing into a permanent schizophrenia. In desperate acts she began to delete whole sections of accumulated data, the billions of years that weren't needed for anything, but tidbits were kept around for the future's sake. How long would it take to get herself under control as she laughed maniacally? Clawing at her surroundings in desperation, she fell asleep not from the schiz, but from the sudden drain of calories. Hopefully she'd awaken in time for the next exam, refreshed & in a calm-like manner.

Sometime later, Nekita awoke and almost relapsed back into schiz-ing. Sealing off more major portions of the knowledge just to keep herself sane, she reached back into the recesses of her mind & clicked it shut. Physically stretching, then, her mind came back to the thoughts of the exams.
"On to the next part," she yawned, wiggling her fingers & toes.

Jae reached this area, her breath coming out in small puffs as she tried to catch her breath. Her heaving sobs only made it harder and she found herself sinking to her knees as she leaned up against the trunk of one of the large trees that lined the forest way. She hiccuped once more and turned her back to the world, burying her face in her arms as she sat facing the tree. She cried, the only sound emitted were a few small whimpers and the sound of Jae trying to take gulps of air all at once before coughing when it didn't work. He always made her feel shitty and this time he had gone too far. Stupid clone, stupid Noctis. She hated this place and just wanted to go home and now she couldn't even do that until she had stopped her stupid crying.

The roads leading into the occupied territory of the UHV, were very well paved, providing a comfortable journey for any traveler. That is, until you reached the eastern part of the countryside. Houou had to pause in awe of the massive trees that blanketed this area, momentarily forcing him to forget about the mission at hand. His fascination with nature had proven burdensome on his mind. As Houou explored the area, he realized more and more how difficult it would be if he needed to flee from any dangerous animals or bandits. The roots were bigger than his entire body ad the trees themselves where higher than most buildings, however they pale in comparison to the great Sero tree. As Houou looked to the ground for animal tracks, attempting to gage what he could possibly run into. While searching for tracks, he realized that there were absolutely no animal tracks in the area, strange for such a remote and lush location. What he did notice however, was the tracks of human beings, also strange for such a remote location. This snapped Houou back into focus. He had a mission to accomplish and these footprints most likely belonged to the bandits that had stolen the shipment of yew.

Picking up this trail was a complete stroke of luck, Houou was far from being an expert tracker quite yet. Lucky for him, these idiotic bandits didn't seem to bother with covering their tracks or masking their presence in these forests. As Houou acclimated his body to moving in the new terrain, he picked up on some subtle tricks to navigating around the massive roots and wild foliage. He could only hope that this would help him if a battle broke out.
Suddenly the loud voices of several human beings could be heard, bringing Houou to a sudden stop. The men were maybe three or four yards ahead of him. They were careless enough to give away their location so easily... or maybe they had traps set, giving them an air of comfort. Houou knew that he would have to approach them wisely if he wanted this to end will for himself. He had no idea of their numbers or skill, so he wanted to scout them before making any moves.

In that moment Houou focused chakra into his feet and immediately began scaling the closest tree to him. As he reached heigh enough to stand in its branches, Houou began leaping from branch to branch, following the voices of the bandits. The voices rang louder and Houous eyes scanned the vicinity with extreme focus. Then he got his break! Just in the distance Houou could see four men sitting around a small fire. What Houou suspected to be the shipment could also be seen. The box was rather large, but he would worry about that after he subdued the bandits. Luckily Houou had the element of surprise and an optimal vantage point to launch his attack.

Forming several hand seals Houou clapped his hands together activating the wood clone jutsu. He never broke eye contact with the bandits as the wood flowed from his body like soft clay, until he it was fully formed. The clone of Houou fused chakra in its feet and hung from the branch like a bat below the original Houou, while pulling out several shuriken. Bending its knees and chambering all of his energy into his legs, Houous clone launched himself toward the bandits while launching the barrage of projectiles. The shuriken struck the area, pelting one of the bandits in the back and dropping him instantly. One of the other bandits was hit in the leg and arm, also bringing him to the ground but missing his vital organs.
In that moment the original Houou formed another set of hand seals and cast the wood spike ring jutsu. Successfully binding the two fallen bandits. As the remaining two bandits looked to the sky, they would see Houous clone mere feet away from them. One of the bandits reacted with a calm and collected demeanor and leapt out of harms way, all while drawing his blade. Houous clone spun his body as he got into range, and threw a round house kick at the bandit. The bandit was wise enough to throw up hid arms to block the kick, however the momentum Houou had built up was enough to knock the bandit off his feet and too the ground. Houous clone slid to the forest floor with a crashing success.

Houou reacted in turn, throwing himself out of the tree at the now armed bandit, as he was obviously distracted by the clone that was attacking his comrade. As Houou soared downward out of the tree, he formed several hand seal, once again slamming his hands together to form the last seal for his wood style, cutting technique. He then pointed one of his palms at the armed bandit, and the other at the fallen bandit. Two spikes of wood quickly shot out of both Houous palms. One successfully piercing the fallen bandit and neutralized him on the ground, while the other was swiftly blocked by the armed bandit. With his attention on the original airborne Houou, the clone took advantage of the bandits distractions and formed several hand seals, focusing his sights to the bandits feet. Houou had cast his underground roots technique, forcing roots to emerge from the very ground beneath the beneath the bandit. As the roots began to entangle and grip at the mans feet, the bandit pulled one leg out of the branches reach and cut at the ones that had already ensnared at his remaining leg. Now broken free, the bandit would take several steps in the opposite direction of Houou and his clone, reaching behind his back and grabbing two throwing knives.
Stopping in his track the bandit launched both the original Houou who was still quite a ways away in the air.

Both Houou and his clone began to form several hand seals. Houou cast his Threefold shield technique the wood quickly leaked out of his forearm, swirling into a neat and perfect pattern. The shield was no bigger than his chest but it was enough to place his vertical body behind. As both knives struck the shield, Houou peered from behind the shield and checked for more projectiles. Seeing that none were incoming he move the shield from his line of sight, tucking his arm behind his back and finished his descent. The jutsu that Houou clone cast was smothering binding technique hisarms quickly morphed into five tree branches and immediately reached for the armed bandit. This final bandit proved to be quite the skilled adversary. Hacking away at the encroaching branches, he was able to quickly fend the of while stepping backwards with ease. As the bandit ferociously battled the clone, Houou landed to the ground and formed several more and seals, casting his world of trees wall, effectively cutting off the bandits backward advances.

Houou then sprinted for the bandit at full force. His clone dripping his failed attack and forming several more hand seals. Houou knew that he had the bandit cornered and decided to buy his clone some time. Reaching into his pack, Houou launched two kunai at the bandit, then pressed forward with his shield raised. As the bandit swung ferociously, Houou blocked all of his sword strikes with hesitance. The bandit was so strong that he was taking chunks out of the shield. Houou had to think quick. His clone would definitely be done preparing the jutsu and Houou needed to get out of the way, lest he get caught in the crossfire. After the bandit landed another hit in the shield, Houou took the opportunity to leap backwards as the bandit drew his blade back and prepared to strike again. To stop the man from advancing on him, Houou would detach the shield and launch it at the bandit with great force. The bandit reacted quickly just as Houou anticipated, smashing the airborne shield to the round. This was the moment that Houou's clone cast his final jutsu Tree limb technique, sending five roots piercing upwards through the ground at the bandit who was walking directly at them. The roots collided with the bandit as both their forward moving momentum had clashed. The bandit died on impact, leaving his lifeless body to hang midair.

With relief Houou fell to his butt as his clone surveyed the area for any other signs of danger. The mission was completed on this end but Houou was exhausted. Looking over at the crate of stolen wood Houou stood with a sigh and dusted himself off. "we might as well get this over with, we can rest when we are out of this maze of a forest." Houou remembered that Magnus warned him not to come into contact or expose himself to the Yew wood shipment, so he lest the crate sealed and covered it with the fabric he has purchased. Fashioning makeshift straps hhouou wrapped them around the box and placed it on his clones back. Pressing forward at and exhausted pace, the way he had entered these woods, Houou departed with his clone close behind.

These Tattoos Are Scars...

Roxas

A Song

The World Still Has Beauty In It...

The armor Magnus had given Roxas was heavy. Heavier than the flack jacket he usually wore. He had to get used to it somehow. Roxas was used to carrying weight. The sword he carried around everywhere was proof and the fact that he spent his whole life working in mines also showed itself apparent in his body muscles and scars. While meditating alone in the grass field, Roxas contemplated attempting to learn the way of his sword again. It had always been a failure, but a lot of time had passed and many things have changed. Unsheathing the sword with his right arm and pulling it towards the front of his body, Roxas observed it for about a minute in silence. The heavy blade bearing marking foreign to him. He knew the sword was his only due to blurred memories otherwise he would've left it behind. Just like he left all those people who trusted him. Shaking the thoughts from his mind, Roxas got himself up and began swinging the blade around a couple of times. His slashes were awkward, but he knew what he was doing ironically. The armor around him practically weightless now.

Junka [Acclimation] E

Roxas typically worked out for about 3 hours without stopping. It was a great way to keep up his endurance ever since he left the mines. His calloused hands grasped the soft grass virtually unfeelable as he pushed himself up and down. By forcing your muscles to exert themselves constantly without giving them time to rest creates endurance instead of swelling. Once he was finally done he would begin atual practice with techniques.

Gamankurabe [ Endurance Contest ]
Rank: X :: Simple

Setting himself up in a racers stance on the ground. Roxas focused before releasing his body and tension all at once and sprinting in a straight direction. He would essentially tackle the air and repeat the maneauver to perfect his form. The purpose of this was too knock an opponent down or at the very least make them lose their balance. Roxas was practicing techniques he had learned from a cave monk long ago, but never truly perfected. He thought now would be great to hone them for the future battles ahead of himself.

Tokkumukoto [ Tackling ]
Rank: X :: Simple

Roxas' body was like a statue sculpted from years of hard and restless labor. With the new armor he had aquired this would only become more of a truth than before. He would now have to find a position to increase said fortitude. A position to really make an inpenetrable wall. Positioning his legs and setting up his arms to protect his face and his torso the form was found. Thinking back on his training he could remember clearly the old man teaching Roxas his ways.

Roxas you will now set up the Kabe. Become a wall and let no one pass your defenses. I will charge you with all my strength. Do not waver in your resolve. The master charged the younger Roxas and slammed into his defenses completely rocking his core and sending him flying towards the cave wall. You lack conviction young man. Do not worry. I shall instill it into you.

Kabe [ Wall ]
Rank: X :: Simple

Every attack had to be swift and lethal. They had to crush the opponent's morale and leave them without any reaction. The Crushing Underfoot was something that inspired fear in those that witnessed it. In his last mission, Roxas had used this technique on the skull of UHV infantry. No mercy was to be shown to the enemy.

Does the elephant show mercy when stomping on it's enemy? It decimates without hesitation the ants in it's wake. You must be the same in battle, Roxas. The master directed Roxas to a corner of the cave with a flat surface. He told Roxas that the only way he'd be eating that night would be by cracking the surface. It would be a long and hungry day for Roxas before he got his dinner.

Touha [ Crushing Underfoot ]
Rank: X :: Simple

Your next technique requires you to imitate the beetle. Like a beetle you are strong and have a lethal strike. Watch it's pincers and imitate it's movements. Do not emulate when you do not understand it's purpose. You must become the beetle. The master's words echoed in his mind while memories of himself studying a lone beetle surfaced into his mind. The beetle was very much like himself a strong being hardened by life.

Roxas would then perform the Beetle Grabbing hold that the cave master had taught him. The move was both a grapple and an attack meant to hurt the enemy and subdue them with monster-like strength. Roxas would repeat the process a couple of times before deeming it unnecessary to continue for he already knew how to perform the grapple perfectly.

Kabuto Washitsukami [ Beetle Grabbing Hold ]
Rank: X :: Simple

Roxas thought back to more of the rigorous training he was put through. The cave master made him test his resistance practicing taijutsu in mud and sand. You need to forget the armor as armor and begin to see it as a second skin on your body. Do not let yourself be brought down by it! He'd spent days training this way. He remembered finally leaving the terrain and feeling light as air. It was quite amazing.

Roxas put himself through this training once again to test how well he would fair after so much time passing. To his surprise the weight of his armor indeed was amplified by the mud. He decided to perform basic training in the mud for a couple of hours to get back into shape. Once he stepped out of the mud he found himself feeling lighter than he had ever felt in a while. The only weight being the demons that plagued his memories.

The mud felt cold against his skin. Air bubbles beneath him made him feel as if small creatures were crawling around. Suddenly he saw something in the distance. Standing at the mud's edge was a small child. He couldn't quite see the child's face, but it appeared to be a girl. She extended her hand out towards him for some reason. "You lost little girl?" He shouted standing still in the mud.

Suddenly someone appeared. A masked ninja picked the little girl up and began running away with her. Suddenly utter despair hit Roxas in the gut. "Wa-WAIT!" He shouted fighting against the mud. "LET HER GO!" The child shrieked. Her voice growing more faint the farther they got from Roxas. When he finally did make it out of the mud Roxas found himself in tears and on his knees. He slapped his head a couple of times. "Stop...Stop...PLEASE!" He decided he'd take a break.

Tenshin [ Shifting Position ]
Rank: C :: Training

When life knocks at your door and takes everything away from you. You realize how meaningless everything is. Your weakness might mean the end of everything you know. Roxas would no longer allow his weakness to ruin his life. He would grow stronger in every aspect he could possibly achieve. He had worked on his endurance. What would endurance protect other than himself? He was being selfish. He needed speed to make it to his friends. Roxas would begin training his legs to increase their strength and speed.

The forest lacked mud needed for this specific type of training. roxas would have to improvise. Looking around he realized he could try something different. After a couple of hours cutting down trees with kunai he had created a decent pile of trees. Their weight together would be insane. He would push them all together and move forward. Somehow, but he would.

Roxas was strong. It was all he had honestly and sometimes he hated himself for it. He had no class or complexity to his movements. He simply exerted his strength and waited for a reaction. When the logs began to slowly turn he grinned to himself. It was slow and steady, but it was something. He would continue with the variation training.

After rolling for about an hour Roxas began feeling his muscles cramp up. His body was pleading for him to stop, but that's when he knew he was getting somewhere. There was only gain through pain. That was what life had taught him. And that was what he'd carry out for the rest of his life. Glory through pain. His existence was torment and he reveled in it. With a swift blow he landed a devasting strike that scattered all of the wood across the forest.

Tonkachi [ Hammer ]
Rank: X :: Simple

In the caves survival some times was impossible. Roxas had met many people throughout his life due to the perilous nature of mining. One time he himself fell prey to it's insidious design and fell when the floor beneath him collapsed. Alone no one knew where he was or how to find him due to the location he was in. He had to find a way out somehow.

By that age, Roxas was already very well built from years of hard labor. The hole was about 10 feet deep. Water seeped through the walls meaning climbing it would prove slippery and painful. Roxas had to think of something quickly before someone blew up a part of the mine nearby and killed Roxas in the process. He jumped, but didn't manage to get higher than two feet.

Thinking back to that day, Roxas smiled to himself. It was one of the first moments he'd ever use chakra in his life without even realizing it. Normal strength wouldn't launch him high enough. He needed an extra push. The slave owners had caught someone who claimed to have been a ninja long ago. He showed everyone tricks. Roxas noticed he'd always make a specific hand movement before performing his magic. The ninja vanished mysteriously and Roxas never found out what became of him. No one ever left the mines.

Roxas tried imitating the hand seal and felt something strange coursing through his body. Before he knew it he felt invigorated. Roxas remembered how he left that hole feeling like a hero. In the present, he could jump much higher than before. Crouching before launching himself into the air, Roxas came down like a meteorite creating a massive wave.

Whirlwind Training
Rank: E :: Training

Falling from high places was a problem. Roxas knew this and knew a way to overcome this dilema. When falling he would perform a specific type of roll in order to brace the impact and not take any damage. He knew the timing would have to be just right in order for this to actually help him. Roxas practiced the roll repeatedly until he knew he got it right. It had been a while.

Somersault
Rank: X :: Simple

Ruins of an abandoned house. Roxas felt a memory bubble up in his mind, but he quickly popped it with the next technique taking his attention. The man ran towards the ruins and jumped over the stones that withstood the test of time. Every jump making him go faster and faster. If an enemy were in front of him he knew they would be sent flying. After a while of running around and jumping through the ruins, Roxas called it quits.

The armor Roxas wore was now practically a second skin to him. It's weight a distant memory as he taught his body to endure the weight. His quest for speed would not be stopped by his armor. His training involved heavy jumping in order to achieve greater heights. He could achieve such a height that flips could be accomplished with him landing square on his feet and not just barely making it. This would become useful in battle, however it made him temporarily vulnerable. He knew how to fix this problem.

In the middle of a flip Roxas would have to readjust to any new attack coming from the enemy. He would have to constantly stay on the move. Never hesitate never stop. There was no diplomacy when someone was aiming for your throat. Thinking back to a previous fight where he jumped to avoid a kunai and immediately switched back to grab the kunai and use the momentum to throw the kunai back at the individual that tried to kill him.

He could feel his legs growing stronger. He was much faster than before. The bear that had attacked him a couple of weeks ago would find itself in a difficult position. Performing more flips the man implemented several different kicks in them. He realized that by running before performing said flips the kicks that followed were way stronger. He mixed it together with his switchblade technique. Jumping in the air with a front flip he canceled it jumping backward and kicked backward all in the same motion.

Roxas would work out his upper body strength by holding himself horizontally on a piece of crumbling wall. He was strong enough to keep his body straight and would proceed to pull his body towards the wall in succession. The weight of gravity was insane at that point. After about 100 repeated sucessions he called it quits and collapsed on the ground. His arms completely wasted from the exercise. "Holy s**t..." He mumbled panting.

Balance was something Roxas wasn't used too. He was a man of unrefined excess. He continued exerting his body to its limits in every aspect he knew how. After that, he would try to keep himself balanced on one leg for as long as he possibly could. He quickly realized he was horrible at it. "God damn it." He grumbled feeling frustrated at himself for being so blocky. He tried again and this time managed to get farther than before. A small victory in what would be a great war.

Once he mastered one leg he attempted balancing himself with a handstand. He had never actually tried to do something so odd in his life, but there was a first for everything. He realized that his weight was all centered and he could control this by constricting his arms in a specific manner. "Hahaha..." The man laughed for the first time in a long while seemingly amused with his own antics.

After the handstand came the one hander. Roxas for what ever reason managed to get a hand of this one immediately. He was surprised by his own achievement. While he stood there with one arm straight looking at the world upside down, Roxas couldn't help but think about his friends. What had they been up to this entire time he was absent? Maybe they replaced him thinking he died. Either way it mattered not. He had to get back into shape. The bear was out there.

The final act of balance would come at the top of one of the forest's tallest trees. Roxas climbed it fairly easily and would stare out into the distance while remaining on one leg. The wind at that height was very strong and he was sure he'd lose balance eventually, but his sheer will power kept him going. Once he finally found his true balance, Roxas decided he was done perfecting it for the time being.

Roxas thought back to one of his fights with a thief. The man was agile and nimble like a cat. Years of experience had led him to unfortunately rob Roxas. "Give it back," Roxas demanded setting himself up to counter what the thief attacked him with. He was surprised when he realized the man jumped over him and kicked him in the back with both feet. "Gaaaah god damn it!" Roxas cried as he fell face flat on the ground.

Roxas tried emulating this move but found it very difficult. The jump wasn't complicated, but immediately twisting your body around and performing a kick mid-air was beyond him. Still, he wouldn't give up just yet. He still had an entire day to train his heart out. Until his heart gave out and he could be with them.

Roxas jumped towards a tree and tried grappling it with his legs. In the beginning, the most he could accomplish was smash his testicles against the bark but after repeated attempts, Roxas managed to grab onto the tree and stick to it. At that point, he was furious at the tree and unloaded a barrage of punches at it. By the end, the tree was collapsing with him still attached to it.

Roxas had decided to do a couple of pull up in the high branches of a tree. While doing so he thought back to a fight he had with someone once in the crowded jungles of the land hidden in vines. The people there were proficient in fighting amidst the foliage. He had almost lost his life due to this.

Stretching his legs before performing a sprint, Roxas jumped up and grabbed a branch to gain momentum into his subsequent kick. He tried several different variations of this technique. He repeated them several times as well. The branch eventually broke causing him to fall.

Roxas was getting really bored of practicing with flips. He'd been at it for a while and wanting to get back to using his fists. "Please God." He mumbled to himself almost crying. It had been so long. So many techniques. God bless his poor soul.

Swinging Fury

Roxas had a technique that had been on his mind for a while. The technique would not be quick to learn and would require Roxas to train not only his speed but his patience. It required him to string several techniques together. Getting to that point was going to be difficult, but he didn't care.

His first step would be training his speed. He'd practice his punches and kicks trying to break his record each time. Once he reached an unpassable limit he stopped. Then he'd try actual techniques and time them as well.

Roxas performed a kick, punch and a sweep. He tried several different variations of order to figure out which was more fluid but it didn't really matter. He just needed to get them all at his opponent's throat very fast. Once he reached his limit in time he stopped once again.

He thought back to the time he fought a speedster. The man was so fast he beat the living hell out of Roxas and he couldn't even understand what was happening. But what the man had for speed he lacked in endurance. Roxas could withstand his blows but the first punch the speedster took dropped him to the ground.

By the end of his training, Roxas was punching so fast even he had a hard time understanding what he was doing. Yet he felt proud of himself for still managing to grow stronger after so long. He looked at the palm of his right hand and squeezed it. A child's laughter filled his mind. He had more training to do.

Roxas knew of a style of fighting that was all about power. He had read about if during his travels into the lands uncharted of the west. The world of the Western Men was different than the shinobi world and so was there taijutsu which they called martial arts. The first stance in this style was labeled as "Hades Stance" after one of their Gods. He took the correct position and played movements out with the air.

Hades Stance
Rank: E :: Training

The following stance was quite different than Hades Stance. It was all about balance and control instead of just uncontrolled power. He played out movements with the air like he had done before with the Hades Stance. This style was very odd for someone used to dealing deadly blows, but it felt so natural to him that he couldn't stop training.

Olympian Stance
Rank: E :: Training

The Mortal transition was all about changing stances in between each other to completely throw the opponent off guard and create more power by using your own body as a sort of lever to break the opponent into submission. He wished Atsuko was there to practice with him. Doing it alone was very annoying and the boy knew his way around a fist fight. It had been a while for sure.

Roxas trained his grip on the trees he had destroyed earlier. He wanted to be able to crush them with just his grip and found it quite easy, to be honest. A pickaxe was no good in the hands of someone with a weak grip. Roxas was molded by his hard life to become an Olympian. He practiced the throw movements after successfully making contact with someone and grabbing them.

Titan’s Grip

He had trained while in the West with some of the savages that fought on the ground with their own formless arts. He remembered getting pinned down with the savage on his back keeping him motionless. Roxas grabbed his arm and brought him down until his arm was poking into the man's chest and blocking his breathing. The technique was complex and very situational, but would one day come in handy.

Roxas sat by himself in the forest thinking back to his training with the savages. Training alone in this style was all but impossible but he could think back to his prior training and remember in detail what he had learned at the hand of the savages. There was one move in which he found himself chest to chest with his opponent. Using his strength to crush the opponent and block their breathing he kept the balls of his feet flat on the ground while he crushed his opponent.

Dominating Hercules
Rank: X :: Simple/Position

The savages taught Roxas that creativity was key when fighting someone on the ground. Never stick to simple one strategy. While mounting the enemy he could do several things. Mount Olympus wasn't so much a technique but more of a stance. It was meant to lead into something greater to an actual attack.

Mount Olympus
Rank: X :: Simple/Position

The savages also taught Roxas never to stick to strictly one stance. Transitioning between them fluidly ensured that your opponent never had the opportunity to read your movement. The moment your opponent decyphers your fighting pattern he has won the fight. Roxas took this lesson to heart.

Hero's Transition

The Act of Hercules took a while for Roxas to master. He smiled remembering his training. It was a technique with three separate distinctions to it. The easiest for him to learn had been the Blasting Hercules. 100% his style. His strength was monstrous even back then. Knocking people on the ground was a walk in the park.

The Sweeping Hercules as explained to him by the savages was meant to be 'simple' yet the sweeping part was difficult for him. He could never quite get it right quick enough and the opponent would always lock themselves in time. It was only after several battles that he managed to get it right. Perfecting the Sweeping Hercules.

The Lifting Hercules was the most complex out of the three. When it had been used against him Roxas felt the impact all right. He could remember it like it was yesterday. His head getting lifted like a ball. Being mounted soon after in the dominating Hercules position. "Good times." He mumbled to himself breaking the silence.

Fall to Tartarus was implemented upon Roxas on hard rubble covered turf. The savages didn't care for being gentle they beat the teachings into you one way or another. Roxas was thankful for that. It was the way he had been taught for his whole life.

When first used against him, Roxas felt completely crushed by the weight of his opponent. It was like a snake was crushing his head and keeping him immobile. The only way Roxas survived was by using his greater brute strength to free himself. The savages looked at him in awe.

When it finally became his time to use the move on someone else he showed no mercy and nearly pulverized his opponent's head on the floor. When Roxas applied the technique he felt power. Like he was king of the world and the opponent was at his mercy.

Nemian grip was meant to follow up Fall to Tartarus. It was a very powerful move. Like extremely powerful. Once you did it you never went back. Like holy mozzerella balls.

Roxas was thinking about the times when had to learn this s**t. Crazy time in his life. Surrounded by a bunch of crazy ******** that liked to grope each other and s**t. Anyways Roxas almost got choked to death a s**t ton of times. The only reason he didn't was that the guys ******** up and didn't hit the 3 postmark.

The move basically leaves you vulnerable to weapons though. Roxas almost got shanked once. The guy pulled out a jagged knife on him. Lost an arm for it though. Roxas hated that kind of foul play. It infuriated him.

You ever get slapped around by a bunch of savages teaching you how to wrestle? No? Well, Roxas sure did. Ajak's club was about hitting your enemies with your forearm like a club. It was demented and Roxas hated it but the savages insisted on him learning it.

When Roxas got his time to shine he almost caved the guy's skill in with the amount of force he was putting behind his strikes. It was only useful while on the ground. If he was on his feet he'd just use his hands. Throw em hands not them forearms what the ******** decided this was actually something he could practice in real life. He slammed his forearms repeatedly into trees. By the end he had cleared out a nice little part of the forest. "Hm." He mumbled slowly growing bored of the style of fighting.

It was hammer time. Roxas' favorite technique of the Hercules Style. All you had to do was slam your fists down like a hammer. At that point, Roxas had become a savage himself and slammed the s**t of those ******** people. He released all of his rage until there was nothing left.

In the present Roxas practiced against the ground until his fists bled. "AAAAAAAH!" He shouted releasing his anger like before. Memories flooding his mind. Memories that made him want to rip the very foundation of the forest and twist it. When he was finished he sat in a large hole in the ground.

That was it for training day. Roxas was tired and wanted to rest a little. Nah it wasn't the end he knew it wasn't. He still had much more to suffer. His sins would only end when he ended. He was in debt. In debt to life.

Hephaestus's Hammer

Roxas pulled out his sword and examined it for the first time in a long while. He hadn't used it ever since he fought the bear and that could barely even be labeled as "used" he fended the beast off mostly and still got mauled. There was a style he had been meaning to test out for a while. Maybe it would finally be the one that would fit him. He made a couple of simple slashes in the air and took a position to ready himself.

Roxas made another lazy slash outwards in a direction that would make sheathing his sword appear to be seamless. He had chosen the style because it seemed simple enough for someone as bad as him at swordplay. He repeated the movement a couple more times until he didn't stutter between sheathing. The man was almost excited about using the sword for the first time in a real fight.

Iori Seppun [ Retreating Kiss ]

With his sword in its sheath, Roxas would fake an unsheathing movement and land a straight jab forward. The blow would be devastating with Roxas' strength. His opponent would be caught by surprise and attempt to react to a sword and not a punch. He repeated the movement until it became fluid to him.

Whirlwind Style had given Roxas flexibility and mobility in the air. He would use it to his advantage with his swordplay. Performing a full horizontal slash he followed it with a spin kick in the air. He created several variations following the slash that all kept his movement going.

Kowakuteki Nameru [ Alluring Lick ]

Roxas would take a stance with his b*****d sword and learn to hold position without faltering in his conviction. He acted out a scenario in which he parries his opponent and both are knocked back, but he regains ground with a kick following quickly the breakup. He repeated the movement several times fighting against his invisible enemy. Hopefully, this would all translate well into an actual battle.

Roxas ran with his blade and practiced charged moves with it. The blade was heavy and was capable of dealing great damage simply by running with it. Roxas decided it would become deadly with chakra invested in it. While he ran he enhanced his blade with chakra and snapped at the air. Quickly following the slash with a punch and in other variations a kick.

He realized that enhancing the blade with chakra made it lose stability. He had to learn how to control the chakra around the blade and keep it steady otherwise his blade would not strike true. After spending about ten minutes learning how to achieve this, Roxas repeated the attack. He had gained the stability he wanted.

Shita Seppun [ Tongue Kiss ]
Rank: D :: Complex

Roxas was never handy with a blade ever since he was taught by his caretakers as a small child. He didn't remember much about that time of his life, but he knew they had tried. All the years he spent walking around with the blade like a ghost of shame. Now it was time to finally become a man and dominate it.

Roxas performed a couple of basic horizontal slashes and noticed that it set him off balance to the side due to it's weight. While this problem could be easily avoided if he just put more weight into his right leg, Roxas saw opportunity in it. He could use the offset to his advantage and use it as an opportunity to strike at his opponent.

And that was just what he did. When the blade offset him he would use the moment to awkwardly close the gap between him and the invisible opponent and strike with a kick and a punch in different variations. This style of swordplay was very odd and amateurish. Perfect for himself.

Furue Koushin [ Trembling Lips ]
Rank: C :: Simple

Using a tree for this next technique, Roxas would stick his blade into the tree to imitate a blade lock. Putting his weight on the blade in a fake struggle, Roxas would perform a wide parry against the bark and backflip while kicking the tree to gain more distance. The technique was defensive, but also offensive. It gave him distance while attacking the enemy. He would continue to improve the technique.

Roxas' body only appeared to be old. Years of hustle and struggle had aged his physical appearance, but underneath the ruff exterior, he had the strength of youth. This showed how seamlessly he performed backflips in the air like they were nothing. He would repeat the backflip kick to get the movement right. He was meticulous when it came to battle.

For one last time Roxas would perform the technique, but with an invisible enemy in mind. When their swords met he would eye his invisible opponent while their blades struggled against each other. Finally, Roxas would parry and backflip without performing the kick since he had nothing to kick and the movement would break his flip.

Roxas walked alone through the forest and by chance happened to trip and fall. His hands immediately braced the impact protecting his face and he laid there for a while thinking about what had just happened and how in a battle it could mean death. How could he make something like falling become an attack? Instead of getting up normal he swept his legs as if to knock an opponent down. On his feet, he looked at the ground he had swept and thought about what he could create.

Roxas would act as if he were dodging an attack but fall on the ground in the process. It was an exaggerated maneuver meant to throw the opponent off guard. Yet instead of falling he's slash at the air with his blade. This was meant to catch the opponent off guard. Roxas was a brutal fighter but wasn't against using his wits from time to time.

The last rep would require him to perform the technique about 50 times. Each time changing between doing a sweep kick and a sword slash. Once he was done he sat hearing the forest. Feeling at peace all alone on his own. Nothing to do but train. One day he'd leave and meet his group again but for the moment he had to regain his strength.

Kisumaku [ Hickey ]

Roxas performed a couple of flips to keep in touch with his whirlwind training and while he did so he thought about how could incorporate this into battle with his sword. First things first he would have to figure out how to keep his arms extended with a heavy sword on one side while flipping. His first attempt almost got himself killed so he decided to switch out the sword for a thick stick. It wasn't as heavy as his sword, but at least it wouldn't kill him if he jumped wrong.

Once he was confident enough with his flips he picked up his sword again and tried practicing. It was a success. He tried several different types of flips to switch up the angles of the slices. Finally he was done with the technique. He sat and took a break while watching nothing.

He thought about how the world was changing around him and how the newer generations of people were beginning to mold the world in their image. Roxas never had the chance to do so. He was stripped of his freedom during his youth. Granted he was still young, but his soul was old and battered. "No use in crying over spilled milk." He mumbled to himself.
