why is it when ever i try to tell people that i'm pan-sexual or transgender my voice goes mute?

Because the stigmas for the mentioned identities are more prominent. Also, the terms are not as well-known as say "gay," "lesbian," or "bisexual." Most people do not understand what "pansexual" means, nor do they fully comprehend the complexities of a transgender lifestyle. Your voice is not muted; it never is. Their ears are just full of ignorance to what's different.
