He wasn't sure why - perhaps it was the fact that he had not been doing so well in any of his fights lately (not including the spar with Bix, which had actually been surprisingly in his favor, for the most part) - but perhaps it was just the fact that Valentine's Day had come and gone, and all of the lovey dovey couples had made him somewhat sick.
And yes, somewhat envious as well. Somewhere deep inside Gale he was jealous of the older hunters who had significant others, or the ones who were old enough to flirt. It was not that he was not old enough - at sixteen, he was the same age as Cass, who had Marcus - but it was that he was a guy, and the only girl his age was Ennea, who was not interested. Everyone else was several years above, and none thought of him as anything but a little brother figure.
Or an annoying kid, as Jinhai liked to point out.
This was not usually something he cared about, but lately Gale had been feeling the pressure more and more and he was tired of it.
And this time he had volunteered for the Haunted House duty.
