He could only stare into her eyes even as the lance drew close, like slow-motion. A shrieking monster of metal spinning at his face, and yet he only had eyes for the curly-haired ghoul -
There wasn't even a body to distinguish after the charge attack had finished. Grey and blue matter stained red from blood had splattered the floor, walls, and even ceiling afterwards, and what was left of his bones splintered through wallpaper or clattered like crumbs to the ground. Everything red, red, red . . . Small arcs of electricity hopped between the lumps of leftovers as if trying to re-activate its host, but Mortimer was beyond help now.
Red turned to black, pain into numbness, screams into silence.

It was looking her in the eyes, and for a brief moment, she couldn’t help but wonder if the shadows had looked her sister in the eye too…before they…
Molly shook her head, her shoulder sagging now that the battle adrenaline was wearing down. Vaska felt heavy, but satisfied all the while. He had absorbed quite a delicious amount of FEAR, and delivered two stunning blows. He was at his peak for now. With another flick, clearing what she could from her weapon, Molly de-summoned it, the lance sliding back into a coiled bracelet around her wrist, and she made a face. Her coat was covered in zombie, much like the entire room. She breathed a deep sigh, looking over the room before wrapping an arm around her stomach. She needed to get out, lest she run into another creature…
The Mist Hunter pulled out her pendant, looking at the lumps of flesh solemnly one more time before she uttered the words that took her home. She couldn’t help but feel…accomplished.
