**When It Pains, It Roars** (finished)

Briar felt like just saying "thanks" wasn't good enough, and she bit her lip as she tried to think of something better to say.
"Um, well, I, uh..."
Suddenly, an idea came to her- one that was just bold enough to work.
She tugged at Fenrir's collar and locked eyes with him. She gave him a soft, quick kiss on the cheek and whispered, "Really. Thanks."  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir was frozen. His mind blanked and he couldn't move. Something tugged at his heart. His face turned deep red, he forced himself to recover, and all that came to his mind was a slight mutter, "Your welcome." That was all that his mind could conjure, and he hated himself for it.

Briar chuckled and winked. She opened the door to her room and asked, "I'll see you tomorrow, right?"  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Um... Y-yeah..." he says, standing there like an idiot.

Sighing, she grinned and stepped into her room. "Promise?"  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Promise." he responds, regaining his composure.

She smiled kindly and shut the door. She turned and looked around at her new room, admiring the furniture that was plain to some, but fancy to her. She moved over to the window and gazed outside at the view. "Hey Mother," she said with a bite, "Guess who's not a complete failure after all?"
She yawned and noticed the dry nightgown on her bed. She changed into it and sat on her bed, unable to go to sleep due to the excitement.
For some reason that she was unwilling to admit to herself, Fenrir crossed her mind constantly.  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir fades into the wall and goes inside the Shadow Realm. He couldn't sleep either, Briar constantly entering his mind as well. He gave her his room, because he didn't sleep in it much. He preferred sleeping in the Realm anyway.

Briar finally forced herself to sleep. She listened to the steady slowing of the rain, and she blushed as thought to herself, I think I could get used to it here...
