When the U.S. lags behind all the other countries, when they are in debt deep, when we are torn apart and swallowed by chaos and they seem lost, far behind these accepting countries...

...that is when they will turn and realize their mistake. They did the same thing with slavery- the U.S. had it a lot longer than Europe. Same with segregation. To me the homophobic comments around the world are as bad as the racial slurs. We could practically be considered a 'race' (there is only one race- mankind).

Leaders are supposed to remain unbiased. The Founding fathers that gained presidency, while raised in different 'Christian' ways (in quotations to denote the fact that they were in different backgrounds), were also raised to believe that there was no one path. I have a friend who knows them. While the ideas of certain capital punishments came out of the Bible, this country was not solely based on Christianity, but also Freemason values where, while they believe in God, there is no one simple way to worship.

Our nominees really ruin that. Anyone hear about the video of the Missouri senator who talked about 'legitamate rape'? He also claimed that homosexual men could be cured by drinking breastmilk, and women by drinking... well, you get the picture. I don't know why, but homophobia in the government is all made up of the biased views that their parents taught them.

I am absolutely terrified of the idea of Paul Ryan. He voted for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, doesn't like the idea of gay people adopting children, and voted for repealing an act against hate crimes. People call him a 'bad Catholic'- even those nuns on the bus hated him! And while I like his idea of a less centralized government, he apparently wants the federal gov't to leave everything alone EXCEPT homosexual marriage equality and invading women's vaginas (aka abortion).

Ok, I may sound like the worst gay, but here I go. At this point in time, I don't think that same-sex marriage should be at the top of the concern list. Our economy is in a spiral downward. We have the highest unemployment rate with the most people on welfare since the Great Depression. Our military pay is slowly being drained to nothing to help stimulate the economy. We don't need more government funded jobs since the government is in debt as it is. We need a president who is primarily focused on fixing the economy and help the private sector create more jobs. Maybe then after everything is fixed, we can focus on human rights more. But if you have a poor economy, how can anyone from the middle and low class prosper? The answer isn't letting become dependent on the government. "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." We need to put people to work even if they have to go back to college or maybe even sponsor a technical school. One of the most highest paying jobs that just about anyone can have (without a degree) is Underwater welder, $35/hr. The only thing I need from gay marriage is to be able to give him my insurance if I die in combat, me being a soldier and all.

So thats my thoughts. Bash me if you will, but this is what I think is more important.

Well there's a lot of things this country needs help on. All honestly, we really can't say what's more important because there are many things that are important. That's how I feel.
