NAME OF CLASS CHORE: Trashology 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Moira *********, Professor Janitor

General Information: In Trashology 101, students will learn the valuable skills of cleanliness and machine operation. All around campus, trash and waste and other icky things are taken care of by Moira's sorta-patented Trashbot Waste Disposal Units! But they need to be emptied sometimes and there's just too many of them for Moira to handle on her own...

The Course: The Trashbot Waste Disposal Units (or Trashbots) zip around the campus and collect trash, etc. before returning to their home base in Moira's Fortress of Janitorial Solitude. This home base is a massive, warehouse-like room with a cold concrete floor, rusting steel girders, and a rather pervasive smell. The Waste Disposal Chutes are also set into the floor - huge tubes that lead down to a rather foul cavern below, infested with all manner of vermin. Students must deal with the Trashbots... by whatever means necessary.

Did we mention that the Trashbots are ten-foot-tall ramshackle monstrosities of rusting metal, covered in blades and dumpsters and rust? And that they don't particularly like letting go of a thing once they have it? And that their programming as to what counts as 'trash' is spotty at the best of times?

Mechanics - Solo:

Students who attempt Trashology 101 solo are certainly brave, taking on the Trashbots without any other assistance! Upon entering the Trashbot home base, intrepid soloists are faced with five active Trashbots, each of whom would love to scoop you up and drop you down the Waste Disposal Chute.

The Trashbots must be defeated one at a time, in five separate 'waves'.

Wave One: Roll 1d20-
------- If you roll 6-20: you successfully dodge the first Trashbot. It runs into a wall and deactivates.
------- If you roll 1-5: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Two: Roll 1d12-
------- If you roll 6-12: you duck behind a dumpster! Your cunning hiding place confuses the second Trashbot. It toodles away after a few minutes and leaves you alone.
------- If you roll 1-5: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Three: Roll 1d8-
------- If you roll 5-8: using all the resources at your command, you manage to trip the third Trashbot. It flops around feebly for a minute before deactivating.
------- If you roll 1-4: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Four: Roll 1d6-
------- If you roll 4-6: a hapless gnome runs by. You chuck it into the fourth Trashbot's main collector. Thus appeased, the Trashbot leaves you alone.
------- If you roll 1-3: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Five: Roll 1d4-
------- If you roll 3-4: you end up next to a particularly rancid garbage bag, which you can just barely heave at the fifth and final Trashbot. The bag explodes on impact, showering both you and the Trashbot with ick - but the Trashbot flings itself down the Waste Disposal Chute, leaving you the last one standing. In need of a shower, but standing!
------- If you roll 1-2: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

If you make it through all five waves, you are deemed a Trashology Hero! Moira will put your name down on her notice board for all to see. You will gain the admiration of your peers! Maybe.

If you get punted down the Waste Disposal Chute, you end up in a huge cavern full of garbage, verminous minipets, and gnomes who got tossed out by mistake. You may leave the cavern dump through a tunnel that lets out near the Creepateria.

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are at any point in time grabbed and thrown into the waste disposal chute. That means you have to make ANOTHER rp to try again!

Wave One

This particular Open Class was not something Petro was entirely comfortable with, nor was he confident in his skills. Machines weren't exactly common place in his Clan, his Elders believed they would only promote a softness amongst the warriors. And this softness was more than a vice, it was a threat to his Clan and they would not allow the opportunity to even present itself. While it would, in theory, free them from certain chores and allow them to pursue other endeavours, the Elders remained firm in their decision.

And so, Petro's first encounter with the trashbots wasn't exactly optimal. He thought to observe for a few moments before attempting any form of action. In the back of his mind, Tro knew this particular class was not just for the maintenance of Cleanliness but it was also a test to see how well he could adapt. Unfortunately, when he dashed forward in an attempt to gather up some scattered debris, the tikbalang found himself being gathered and unceremoniously dumped into the chute.

Wave 1

The tikbalang emerged from the Trash Chute, no worse for wear other than his pride and his smell. Petro wasn't a sensitive boil, not by any means, and a little trash would not kill him. Yes, it was an unpleasant experience but it was a learning one as well. It meant he hadn't figured out the proper pattern the bots were using when they gave the floor a sweep. Whether they hadn't been actively targetting him when he was clean was something Tro decided would have to wait for another attempt because he wasn't about to give up just yet. He wasn't planning on letting a little odor be a problem, in fact it would mask his natural scent.

Of course, that also suggested that the Trashbots would go straight for him this time around. And somehow, knowing that ahead of time allowed Petro to dodge the incoming machine at the last minute.

Wave 2

With his success on the first Trashbot, Petro managed to pick up a fair amount of trash on his second attempt. But he knew he wasn't in the clear just yet as there were still four active Trashbots that he would have to face. Brown eyes narrowed, focusing on the next wave he would have to deal with, square-root shaped brows furrowing in concentration. The second Trashbot took notice of him and with a series of beeps and clanks, immediately made a beeline for the horse monster. Petro studied the machine's movements, trying to understand the way the wheels carried it along the floor and over piles and mounds of trash.

Maybe with the amount of trash that had stuck to him, the robots thought him as an unusually tall pile they needed to remove immediately. Whatever their programming was, Petro managed to duck behind a dumpster and successfully evaded the second Trashbot.

Wave 3

Petro spent a few more moments hiding behind the dumpster just to make certain the Trashbot had found something else to occupy itself with. It wasn't as if time was of the essence, and as such, there was no immediate sense of urgency for the horse monster. The moment he moved out of the safety from behind the dumpster, a third Trashbot alerted Petro of its presence with a shrill alarm. The sound was more than an irritant to the tikbalang, but it wasn't enough to completely stun him into inactivity!

He leapt to the side, in time to avoid a claw from clamping around his leg, and rolled onto his feet in one smooth motion. Glancing at the piles of trash surrounding him, Petro spotted one particular pillar of garbage that was teetering dangerously to one side. Just as the Trashbot came whirring at him, the tikbalang grabbed what looked to be an old tire and hurled it at the pillar, sending the garbage tumbling and the robot stumbling into deactivation.

Wave 4

With a grin, and with a loud snort, Petro continued on with the Open Class. Gathering and sweeping up trash where necessary, his confidence bolstered by his escape of the first three Trashbots. But he knew he couldn't let his guard down, not when there were still two more and he was certain these two would prove to be far more insidious and difficult to evade. The fourth robot did not prove him wrong, and despite Petro's speed, the robot knew the lay of the land far better and kept cutting him off at the pass.

"Anak ng tipaklong..." Petro growled, standing his ground and planning on simply smashing it into submission. Except his performance during the first three Trashbots had drawn the attention of a cluster of gnomes and one happened to move in close for a better view of the carnage. Without a second thought, Petro grabbed the gnome and hurled it at the Trashbot.

The automaton accepted the offering and left Petro alone. As did the cluster of gnomes lest they became the next projectile.

Wave 5

The final Trashbot nearly took Petro by surprise, the metal clamps having grabbed for his arm. The metal bracers deflected the attempt but the impact and the uneven ground sent the tikbalang stumbling. A stench so vile and rancid reached his nostrils and made his eyes water. But the sound of whirring and gears turning sent Tro's adrenaline into overdrive. He grabbed for the bag of trash and threw it at the automaton with all his might.

The bag exploded in a shower of, well, trash that covered both student and robot. The machine's programming kicked in and it deposited itself into the trash chute, leaving a bewildered monster horse.

A bewildered, rancid, successful horse.
