Shun's daggers pierced her several times, knocking sense back into her until she backed away and regrouped. She glared at the reaper for a few moments as she caught her breath, but her expression softened just enough to dull the fire in her eyes, and she straightened up. It looked like she was about to say something, but just as she took in the breath to speak, her body twisted around and the force of her spin sent the scythe into Shun's side.

The grin was back. But the mirth did not reach her eyes.

Shun's eye widened for a moment before closing tightly as her scythe bit into his left side pretty deeply. Grimacing, he staggered back, but managed to stay on his feet. It looked like Freya had calmed down from that rampage, but something still didn't quite seem right.

Gathering himself back together, he shifted forth, slashing horizontally at her first, then following up with a vertical slice with his other hand. He was trying to stay close, to try and reduce the effectiveness of that great scythe of hers.

His plan was working, and Freya was looking torn up and ragged after each strike. She laughed once and then used the butt of her scythe against his stomach, trying to push him away.

"Odin be damned, Shun, yehr so good at this." She finally breathed out in a huff, even as she aimed to knock him down with the stick. "How'd yeh gets so good at fightings?"

Feeling the butt of her scythe jab him in the gut, he grunted and staggered back. She did manage to knock him over, but he didn't let that slow him down. As he fell back and away from her, he flung both of his blades at her body.

"I've been training for as long as I could remember," he murmured after he hit the ground. Letting out a breath, he rolled over and started to get back to his feet. There were little splotches of blood on the ground from where he hit. He was bleeding somewhere.

"The road to improvement never ends. And so I shall never stop."

The road to improvement never ends.

Never stop.

Freya let those words sink into her bones, even as she fell to one knee, taking his blows without any ability to block them. Her weapon unsummoned, but she still swiped at him with her bare hands, trying to pull him down to her level. She barely felt the brush of his clothes before her hands pressed against the floor.

"Then I'll never stop." She growled, swollen eyes staring at the floor. It was good advice. She would be sure to take it.

That time around, Shun did shadowstep to get away from her grasp. Reappearing behind her, he looked down at the Valkyrie. He had no clue what was going on with her. There wasn't really any way for him to know as he wasn't all that close to her. Even then, he probably wouldn't be certain how to feel to know that his words were again being taken the wrong way.

Unfortunately for Freya, she probably won't find out that the path she was thinking of taking wasn't one he would consider as 'towards improvement'. At least not today.

He didn't say anything else as he heard her words of conviction, then stabbed into her back.

Freya let out a strangled cry, mangled by the feel of her Fear twisting within her, and her body torn open by the final wound. Her head whipped back as the cry left her, and her hair cascaded back behind her, soaking up the blood. She fell, the moment the cry gurgled to a halt, and lay flat on the floor at his feet.

Shun had won the fight. He'd taught her a lesson she wouldn't forget. But for now.. none of that mattered, as she lay unconscious on the floor.

The fight was over, and it seemed he had rendered her unconscious in the process. Letting out a breath, he checked his side for a moment, feeling some blood oozing out still. That was a pretty nasty hit she had bestowed upon him back there, and he was going to need to get it checked out.

Dismissing his daggers, Shun looked down at her fallen form for a moment or so. Then, quietly, he crouched down and lifted her up to bring her to the Nurse as well. She was bleeding, but she had fought well enough. Freya might have gotten on his nerves a number of times, but it wasn't quite enough to warrant leaving her knocked out in a puddle of her own blood.

And definitely not enough to finish her off while she laid there as he would with Titus.
