Hello!

I have never been real big on hygiene, save for showering regularly and wearing preponderant, but lately I have been getting more in touch with my feminine side and have been browsing through and trying different products. I FINALLY found a shampoo and conditioner (Tressame) that works with my hair; before I used Suave and it dried out my hair and I had a lot of split ends. >.<

I still have not found a facial cleanser that I really like, so I am wondering what you girls like to use. Right now I am using Clean and Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions: Pomegranate, Passion fruit, and acai. It works, but I am being really picky and I am not sure why. I also use Simple Exfoliating Facial Wipes; I use them before I head out so I am feeling clean and refreshed.

I have oily prone skin, though I do not have an acne problem. I do not have sensitive skin either, so do you have any suggestions for me? There are so many products that I could try, but I figured that I would ask you what you like to use for your face, and hair.

Don't feel limited to simply discuss facial cleansers and hair products, we can chat about anything dealing with hygiene here. I am just curious and would like to start being kinder to my skin. ^^

I use Garnier shampoos because I have oily roots. I tend to not need facial cleansers so I just use baby wipes rather than soap on my face.

I like very floral/fruity scents, and my current favorite bath soap is a Yardley special edition I found at the dollar store. Roses and pomegranate or something to that effect.

I tried using Garnier Color Treated shampoo and conditioner, but it did not work very well for me. My hair was still not moisturized very well and I still had the split end problem. My hair got oily quick with that as well.

When I switched to Tressame, my hair was finally soft and silky and I no longer had slip end problems. My hair also does not get oily as quick either.

Garnier does seem to be a very good brand, it just did not work for me. I do admit that their products smell so good! ^^

I LOVE fruity smells as well! =D All my body washes are fruity. I have a coconut scrub and a pomegranate bar soap that I use. I have seen Yardley soap, though it's REALLY expensive here. lolz

Check the dollar stores if you have them in your area. You can find all sorts of nice things there, especially when they buy overstocks and closeouts.

Oh trust me, I do, but believe it or not, the "Dollar Stores" her can be MORE expensive than the department store I work at. It's ridiculous!

I have oily skin too, and I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Shine Control Scrub. I also follow up with a toner. You'd be surprised at how much dirt gets left behind!

LUSH. they will give you samples and if you buy a full thing and don't like it, as long as its less than half gone they'll still refund or exchange it without the receipt. at least, that's what the stores here do. I love lush, i have wavy/curly dry hair and their products always make it soft and not frizzy smile most of their products are completely all natural and made locally wink well, as local as it can get i suppose.

I'm raving about Hada Labo emotion_kirakira Still waiting for my order to be shipped to me. I can't wait for it to get here!! ;D

*clears throat* Anyhow, your skin is oily because it lacks moisture. Sounds confusing? If your skin lack moisture (most like due to neglecting it) it secretes extra natural oils from the hair follicles in your skin, thus making your face more oily. Severe dryness could also result in a layer of dead skin forming on the surface, causing your pores to get clogged up and that's why you might have blemishes (especially around your nose and cheeks).

Don't worry. My skin is also oily due to dryness. It started flaking, even. So I tried a DIY mask that you can read about here, and the flakiness and tightness went away for as long as I'm using it.

Avoid products that contain alcohol, parabens, and/or mineral oil.
Alcohol dries your skin out even more, parabens cause cancer, and mineral oil clogs your pores.

Your diet can help your skin as well. Drink 2 liters of water a day along with a cup of green tea. If you do that, I suppose it doesn't matter what else you eat. > w <
Exercise is also beneficial to your skin, because your sweat pushes the hidden dirt out of your pores.

        Product brands I would recommend:
        > Herbalife (great nutrition!)
        > Hada Labo or Aquamoist

Try to stay away from TOO popular brands. They often slack down in quality after they've hit good sales.

Good luck! And if there's anything you're still curious about, don't be afraid to ask! emotion_bigheart

For my face, I use the Clinique 3 step thingie. The second step has four options, depending on hoe oily your skin is. As for hair, I use Aussie. I'm allergic to something in Garnier, Head and Shoulders dry outmy hair, but Aussie makes my hair smooth and silky...when I do use it. Hygine isn't high on my list of priorities right now...
