Wren was waiting when Bowen showed up, dressed in a simple pair of golden tights and a tanktop with her hair braided back tight to her scalp, nothing else. She had her choice of weapons created by the room itself. She gave him a simple nod and gestured to the weapons on the wall, "You are to defend your target from all attackers. I am the target. The room will create the attackers," she told him simply, knowing that was really the only way to truly test a bodyguard.

The room started with three attackers, two out front and one hidden, all three intent on kidnapping the one he was supposed to be guarding...

Bowen said nothing as he looked over the weapons but shook his head.
``I will use my own sword, thank you.``
As she told him the scenario, he nodded and stood in front of her, facing the attackers. Two were facing him and he watched them carefully as they both approached from different directions, trying to encircle and get in his blind spots.

He went into warrior mode. He held his blade aloft as he slowed his breathing as he concentrated. Then before Wren could completely blink, he launched himself forward, exhaling his breath as his sword whipped up and around, cutting the first attackers head off, before he spun hard and sliced the legs clean off the second attacker. As he slowly stood and righted himself, he saw the third coming up behind the female and he moved quickly, his eyes glowing as he picked her up with one arm around her waist and he spun again as the attackers sword cut into nothing, while Bowens sword blade came down at an angle, cleaving the attacker into two from the left shoulder to the right hip. As it fell over he put Wren on her feet.

When he felt and noticed nothing more was happening at the moment, he took a breath and kept his breathing paced as he kept alert.

Wren nodded as he put her down, the three bodies vanishing instantly, "Good. Now for an actual assassination attempt...," she told him simply, saying nothing more as several attackers formed and charged at them both, archers behind them already firing and aiming for her.

He had to be tested, they both knew that. But after the test, if he passed, she would gladly place him in charge of the king. He was honest, knew the laws, knew when respect was being given and when others were just plain rude. He would keep nothing from the new king and she knew that it was something Euphradion would need.

Now, she simply waited to see what he would do with the new scenario...

He could hear the twang of strings that were once taunt slacken and then there was the whistle of the arrow. No chance to be fancy now...He grabbed her and held her to him as he let out a yell as he knocked away the arrows. As the ones with swords charged, he pushed her to the ground and grabbed the nearest man and used him as a human shield as more arrows were fired. The first assassin died as the second thrust his sword at Bowens exposed middle. He grunted as he twisted his wrist, the burning sensation racing up his arm as his sword deflected the attackers thrust. Then a flash out of the corner of his eye. He ducked as his dead human shields head came off. He pushed the dead body towards that attacker and fought with the one in front of him. A pain in his shoulder as an arrow had pierced it. He grabbed the assassins small dagger at his side and flung it into the head of the archer. The archer died as the other two locked up another arrow.
It was then it seemed as if time slowed. Even Wren should have noticed.

He was suddenly gone from her and blood was flying everywhere. Necks were sliced and a blood roar could be heard as he was soon cutting down the archers.

Once all the assassins were gone, time restored itself and he grumbled as he broke the arrow and threw himself against the wall, pushing it completely through.

He pulled it out and tossed it to the side and went to her and helped her up.

``Do I pass or will you tell me to scram?``

During the attack, Wren was smart enough to move where he put her and stay there, watching his skills with interest. When it was all over, she simply nodded to him, "You pass. You are now in charge of Euphradion's personal guard. Only I outrank you. I am called Wren," she told him simply as she put one hand to his injured shoulder and sang a soft tune under her breath, healing him instantly.

She finally moved away from him and headed for the door, "You'll be moved to quarters near mine and if anyone else is rude to you, take it up with them immediately and teach them better manners. Welcome to the castle Bowen," she said simply as she walked out of the room, paying no attention to the fact that the two guards on the door watched her walk away with interest even though they feared her. They all thought she was a delight to watch since she was very attractive, they just felt that it was too bad she was so cold.

They'd taken to calling her the Ice Princess because of her reaction to all advances.

But they switched their gazes to Bowen and gave him respectful bows, gesturing for him to follow them to his new quarters.
