This was definitely one of the nicest places Kiryu Kyosuke had been in a long time. The park was quiet, peaceful, and in a town that was small enough to feel like a home but large enough that he could still pass mostly unnoticed even as a stranger. The gray-haired Faefox turned to look out at the trees, a wide smile on his face.
He could stay here for a while.

Gwylan wandered through the park, lost in thought. Last time he'd been here was with his new friend Aloysius. He missed Al, a lot! He hoped Al would come back soon. He sighed, and looked around, not wanting to mope. And... well what was this! Another stranger, here in town! Seems Al had triggered this, in his mind at least. Well Gwylan may not be the official Town Greeter, but he sure felt he could extend a warm welcome to a stranger in town.
... Especially such a handsome stranger. He controlled the urge to blush, when he had that thought, and shook his head a moment, then walked over to the other man. "Hello there! You new here? I'm Gwylan."

Kiryu blinked and then gave the other male a gentle smile. "I am, just passing through though." He said. Always just passing through, like some kind of lone ranger. "Kiryu." He said, offering a hand.
My goodness, the enthusiasm put him firmly in the category of "cute," but by looks alone Gwylan was handsome. Utterly different from the last person he had cared for, but that almost made him more appealing.
Ugh, no, those were ridiculous thoughts. There was going to be no...brief fling. That was a terrible idea.

Gwylan smiled broadly and shook Kiryu's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. What brings you through here? Going somewhere in particular, or just traveling because you enjoy it?" He paused, blinked, and blushed again, realizing he was probably being a nosypants. "Oh I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm prying! I'm just a curious sort, and like to get to know people who come to town... Strangers aren't all that common, you see, so when I meet new people... I like to make them feel welcome and learn about them. Helps me learn about what's outside of town, for when I choose to travel myself."

Yeah, yup, Gwylan was definitely cute. Kiryu couldn't help but smile in the face of such enthusiasm He'd gotten better at that, lately. At not looking like he was constantly walking under an emo raincloud. "Don,t worry about it, really." He said. "No particular destination in mind, just traveling for the sake of it." That was as good an explanation as he was willing to give. "You're doing an excellent job of making me feel welcome, Gwylan. And it's an admirable goal to want to see the world. There's certainly plenty out there to see."

"Well my travel plans, at least partly, will be business, but yes... I do want to see more of the world, lots more." He tilted his head, and finally, curiously, said "Care to talk about some of the places and things you've seen? I just... Like I said, want to learn. What was your favorites, what was amazing... what to avoid, because they made you go 'ugh' or just were unfriendly..."

"Business? What sort?" Kiryu asked. He was genuinely curious. Might as well ask. He nodded at the idea of sharing his stories. "I could do that, yes. I certainly have plenty to tell." Some places had welcomed him with open arms, others had driven him out. Some he liked to think he had even made a little better. He at least didn't think he'd made any worse, except perhaps if a certain someone was on his tail.

"Oh, I'm a candy maker. I want to see if I can get business in other towns, maybe mail order business... Also learn new things from other candy makers." He nodded, and smiled, looking wistful. "Just need to... overcome the nerves about breaking away from home, and then also the placating of worried parents. I love them but... Mom's protective." He shrugged expressively, a very 'What can you do' type shrug. "And oh! Thank you... I know a nice café nearby, we can sit, have tea or coffee or something, my treat? Since you're indulging me and all."

Kiryu chuckled. "I see," he said. Gwylan certainly had the temperament for a candy maker, he thought. The male seemed unaccountably sweet. "Ah, parents can find it hard to let go." And sometimes they stalked you all the way across Faetasia, made you almost kill your boyfriend, and then ensured that you never felt safe anywhere ever again.
But Kiryu was sure Gwylan's mother couldn't nearly reach Terra's level of absolute psychosis.
"That sounds absolutely lovely," Kiryu agreed. "It'll be easier to share if we're sitting, too. Please, lead the way."
