[HH 4 vs. ??] Search Party (Danny, Rikki, Roch, Demi) [FIN]

Danny yelled as tendrils of Mengyao's insanity snapped out at her, shackling her wrists. Okay now she was mad. Maybe she couldn't hit Mei, but this faceless, nameless figure was different.

A swift, angry kick to his jaw. She wanted out of this fight, and out now. Cold, tired, exhausted. Torn between real Mei and not-Mei.

All she could focus on was kicking this stupid figure in the face. She could cry later about how bad she felt.

Though their attacks were brutal, he did not seem to feel them. Dual colored eyes flashing, he tilted his head downwards, taking in their pathetic appearances, their pitiful little lives.

This is my home now.

I am taking back what is rightfully mine.

It was madness, sheer madness. Damien was worried that the madness was going to get to him too.
Anther slash came at him, this time it tore its way down his back as a cry of pain ripped from his lips and sent him to his knees.

Still he refused to cower in the corner of the rolled up newspaper as he swung a weak punch, frail and easily dodged. His breathing was more labored now, deep gasps as he sucked in air, desperate to live, to survive.

Ow ow ow. Rikki stumbled back as the hit connected with his face. His hand came up to rub his jaw and he grumbled under his breath about ghouls and fighting and all sorts of things Danny probably shouldn't hear.

Who the hell backhanded. Who brought the backhand to a weapons fight. WHO DID THAT.

They were such weak creatures. Such unprepared little things that could not take away from him what he rightfully deserved, what was his.

No, they would pay.

With a great lurch and a roar that resounded throughout the room, Mengyao's claws lifted and he brought them down on the two lowly peons in front of him.

Danny saw Mengyao moving forward and backed herself up, trying to dodge the swipes. Huge steps with trepidation, attempting to remove herself out of the creature's radius. She kept going until she backed into Roch.

It was just the split second that she turned around to look at her best friend that Mengyao lurched forward and scraped across her bare stomach. The cut seeped with grey, cracks forming around it and spreading across her body. She scratched at it, patting it with her scarf to make it go away, but nothing help. The cracks just proliferated further.

A single alarmed, terrified look at Rikki. She opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Her body quickly exploded, dissipating into nothingness. She'd failed them.

Status: ded. so ded.

There was nothing said. The look of frozen horror that was on Demi's face as the mist shrouded figure set out its final blow, that said it all.

A solid thump was heard as the pup flew a foot away, splayed out on the ground. No movement, no even a twitch as every part of his body fell limp and began to fade away.

Just a look that spoke of how badly a hellhound didn't want this to happen.

All that was left was a tiny little squeezable toy left forgotten in the fog.

"Jackdammit, you killed Danny!" Roch snarled, heading for the horseman again--ignoring the slap he'd just taken from pigtails cracking. He swung his guitar hard as he could, practically, killing the horseman off. Then he turned, his eyes gleaming dangerously as he looked at the slapping ghoul.

"You're goin' down next," he snarled. He was worried--not just about Danny, but Demi as well. What if they turned into one of these things? Would he have to fight them, too?

Roch says bad pony, BAD!

How many times did they have to dig a knife into his chest tonight? How many times would that sick, cold metal go straight through his heart and twist? He couldn't do anything as the claws came down on Danny, he was too far away, and his heart lurched as the cracks tore through her body. The last look she gave him would be painted in his nightmares forever, he was sure. Would she even come back, here in this insanity ridden place?

Grief struck him hard. Nearly debilitated him, but Roch had it covered. He gave a sad, twisted smile as the boil slammed through the horseman in a killing blow.

Roch wouldn't get the chance to take out the second one. In a fit of rage he channeled his fear into the blades of his chains and sent them at the ghoul again and again, until his breathing was heavy and grief took it's hold once again.

"Jacking b***h," he spat.

"Maybe they'll be at the nurse's office, bro," Roch said. "Let's go see if they're back yet. He didn't want to think of an alternative. And he was freezing. He dropped a hand on Rikki's shoulder before heading for the exit.

They would probably be back soon enough.

Rikki's usually animated face was blank as he nodded to Roch silently. He followed the boil numbly, only stopping to bend and pick up the toy that Demi had dropped and squeeze it to his chest. He didn't want to consider the fact that he'd not only lost his ghoulfriend, but a friend as well.
