[HH 1 vs 1] Battle of the Clawed Babes (Pepin & Shine)

Wandering back out into the house seemed like a good idea. The wailing and whispers for home, home HOME-

they were welcoming her into their world. Her world. The place she knew she belonged was here with these grey fragments of distorted, incomplete, fragments of noise and data. But the ghoul couldn't help but feel that she was alone in this pursuit for home. Why was it so hard to find home here? Why were they so hesitant to take her home with them?

As Shine moved through the house, away from the miserably ineffective students who stood somewhere in a room behind her, she'd begun to idly chew on some of her candy bracelets. The crunching of the candy became progressively more desperate, and she passed through several rooms with her arm pressed to her mouth before she realized she was really hungry, and the candy wasn't fixing it.

Her eyes were glassy and anxious as she passed through another doorway, catching a glimpse of something at the far end of the room. She narrowed her eyes, their faint red glow dimming with the slow tilt of her head.

"Who...are you?" she asked, voice heavy and shaky with tears she tried to hold back. She thought that they could almost be sisters, maybe -- long hair, clawed hands, but the ghoul in front of her was somehow both prettier and hurting her eyes all at once. Nose scrunched, she closed one eye, opened it again to close the other, blinked, and had to squint again to look at her without getting dizzy.

"W...why are you doooing that?" Her question was a desperate whine, like a scareling protesting against their punishment. Maybe she could make her stop.

"Hooo?" Pepin chimed electronically and slowly, dauntingly rotated her body to turn and face Shine. The ghost ghoul widened her flashy eyes only making the light worse. "HooooOOoOooommmeee~" she sung. "We're gonna go hoooooome. You wanna come with me?" she said sassily, hand to her hip. Her LED style display of wings behind her went bright and flickered wildly along with her contour. Oh yea she was asking for it.

"Y-you...you know where...home is?" Shine asked, suspicious, shielding her eyes from the glow of the ghoul's...wings? Oh, she had such a pretty shape, but the pretty shape was way too bright and hurting her eyes and--

Her fingers twitched and flexed, her muscles begging her to see if her claws might tear through whatever she was and stop that awful light. She clenched her teeth. No, if this ghoul knew where home was, she had to stay calm.

"I'll...I can come with you, but...um. Can you..." Can she what? How could she ask this? "...stop?"

She couldn't look at her anymore. That feverish feeling was rising, nagging at her, tangling the need to kill it with the need to go home.

"I don't know, why would I know?" Pepin scoffed at the witch, now crossing her arms. Poor ghoul had no idea that Shine was in no way trying to be rude. Something in the air... it started to disturb Pepin's contour and shred her pixels around. The tension was making her irritable and as Shine made her reasonable request, she huffed and moved forwards, giving the ghoul a bit of a shove.

"Stop what? THiiiIIiiiIIiisissss???" she teased and suddenly spiraled around Shine, her hands flying around behind her. "Teeheheheeee!" she sneered and giggled. In reality, she was JUST playing but.. something was telling her

'not enough'

so she continued maliciously.

"Because you're...aren't you going...?" None of this was making sense, and Shine found herself caring less and less about going home with this ghoul and more about going home in spite of her. The hunger, the need to push on, the desire to rip the awful glow to shreds scraped at the inside of her skull and pounded in her ears.

"N..no, stop being so--" The ghoul moved around her, jumping between sluggish motion and rapid leaps, and her head felt dizzy, and her hands felt heavy, and she didn't care about staying calm anymore. She was too bright, and Shine couldn't even keep her eyes open to get away, to go home, and the light was just going to have to stop.

Wailing in annoyance, she lashed out, claws trying to snatch and tear at anything she could grasp.

Break the light. Embrace the dark. It will be enough. Then you can go home.

"HeeeeHEheheehooo- HOME-" Pepin suddenly hissed in anger at the other ghoul when she lashed out.

"What do you think you are doing??!" she howled in disbelief that the other ghoul actually went and swiped out. "Don't do that, you'll tear my brand new clothes-" The lights continued to flicker but when Pepin lashed out to strike is when they were suddenly brightest. The glitch had yanked on Shine's sleeve then grabbed her shoulder with a hand that tingled with pixels. "Home, home, home~" she sung again and pecked the ghoul on the cheek- but something about it was pretty smart assy.

"Going home!" Shine snapped. Though they were her words, in her voice, she seemed immediately startled by her answer. She took a stumbling step backward, chest heaving, clearly on the verge of a breakdown. Why did she say that?

She seemed to calm down (albeit briefly) after the peck on her cheek, the tips of her claws gently resting against the place the ghoul's lips had just been. Her eyes, wide with confusion, were fixated on her bright, glitchy shimmer -- until she processed that the awful blinding light was the reason she'd attacked her in the first place.

That awful, awful light. Her thoughts churned and her body was fueled with a disgust she couldn't control, a need for the comfort of darkness again. She cried out, an "ughh!" between gritted teeth, and wrapped her arms around the ghoul, fingers curled, still trying to tear at anything she could sink her claws into.

Shine was hugging her to death and Pepin winced in pain at the sharp dagger-like fingers piercing her pretty much bare back. "OwowoOWOWOWOWW!" she hissed and wriggled and kicked trying to break free of the witch's otherwise enjoyable hug grip.

"Home home let go home home home HOME-" she repeated, voice speeding up like on fast forward. She sniffled dramatically and continued to struggle but Shine was a pretty strong ghoul. On the... bright side of things, she was starting to dim as the fog and grey began to swirl around them.

The ghoul's light seemed to be fading fairly consistently, and Shine found herself unable to think properly anymore through the dapples of euphoria that came with the understanding that she was doing this right, she could go home soon. Fog was beginning to creep into the corners of everything, and the greyscale ghoul nearly disappeared within it, her visibility largely attributed to that dimming glow.

"We...can still go together, see? You...you just have...you have to stop." Her words were meant to reassure her, but came out a little broken and insistent, her claws still clutching to her back.

The more Shine squeezed the quicker they could go ~home~. It made total complete sense. That light from Pepin continued to fizzle and die and eventually flickered into a night-light sort of glow. Her blue LED wings behind her became more of a near indigo and eventually started to fade into the greys around them.

"S..still... in... way..." Pepin gasped while she was clutched and whimpered out a strained "home" when she just lightly kicked the other ghoul with her knee. She still could not break free from the witch's hold.
