The trailer was a bit humorous when I saw it in theaters and thought, "The trailers usually look good, but most times - the movie ends up being a flop!" I debated whether to watch it or not because I'm picky when it comes to animated films these days as well.
Eventually, I ended up seeing it in theaters and thought, "Well, here we go. Hope it's good!"
It seemed like I was laughing every few minutes and I love a good laugh! The movie was thoroughly enjoyable and it did have that warming touch in there that you could tell Gru really cared even though he was a villain. I also tend to like movies that are pro-adoption and treating them as family =)
I couldn't help it and had to buy it when it came out! I've watched it so many times and it still never gets old.
I would have to say the characters and their personalities were awesome and well thought out. I would have to say that I love Agnes the best because she just has one of those adorable faces that's hard to say "no", too. It's awesome to see a child character that acts as such and says the most random things like, "Aw, my caterpillar never turned into a butterfly!" "That's a Cheeto." "Oh..- eats-" razz but all the children characters were well developed in their personalities.
I'm hesitant about the second movie because I'm not quite sure what it's about. I've seen some trailers, but they don't exactly tell you anything. I'm hoping that it is as good as the first. I'm edgy about sequels, too, because a lot of them are flops >_<
