[Instability Portal] Going Insane (Aymet/Amrita)

Amrita was bored. Incredibly bored. Normally this would be a terrible thing, but when she realized that she was in fact quite bored she became pleasantly surprised. Being bored meant her mind wasn't preoccupied with something else, and lately that was something extremely rare; between the tag, the stress and the disappearance (plus subsequent reappearance) of her friends, having nothing to dwell on was something special. So despite being bored she was rather pleased, and decided to celebrate...by doing something about it.

Christof was busy, Lizzy wasn't picking up her phone, and after a moment of thought she had a EUREKA! moment and called up Aymet. She was bored, they should go do something! What kind of something? She had no idea; anything, really. Hm. How about training? It'd been a while since they'd sparred, and that might be a nice way to let out some pent up stress!

Luckily it didn't take too long to get him to agree to it, and before she knew it she was in the gym, stretching out her undead limbs. She hadn't been very active lately, she was actually quite worried about how she'd hold up against her friend...

Once again preoccupied, Amrita didn't quite notice the change in the air around her.

Aymet appeared with absolutely no stealth whatsoever - Amrita could probably have heard him coming a mile away from the way the armor clanked and creaked over his bones. But if he was ready for anything right now, it was a chance to test out his fighting skills. He hadn't had the chance to do much since he'd come back from the dead (again). If there were any lasting effects, or weaknesses, he hadn't noticed them yet. Which only made him more suspicious that there had to be some price paid.

"This is nice," he blurted out before the gears started turning fast enough in his mind. "You know, no more classes for the day. Forgot how awesome that was."

His focus was pretty much entirely on Amrita. This was just a thing. A totally regular normal just-friends spar. And he was okay with that!

But... was he going to feel that way about it the next time he squared off against death itself?

Amrita did hear him coming from a mile away, and once she realized who it was that was approaching in such a loud manner she insisted on watching him every step of the way. When he was close enough she faced him with a smile, her eye arched happily. "You're as quiet as a banshee scareling!" She compliment-teased with a chuckle, but gave him a thumbs up anyway.

"This is nice~!" She agreed with a nod, brushing aside any odd feeling in the air. "Especially since it's time off without a disaster causing it!" Her voice rose to a happy whoop, both backward fists pumping into the air. "Okay, are you ready? Let's do this!" Apparently she was eager to get this fight started; she wanted to stretch the rigor from her limbs, to get in the practice she had missed out on...really, she just wanted to have fun. Before she settled into a battle stance though, she pointed at him as sternly as she could.

"Don't you dare hold back! I'll know if you do." She had fought alongside him before; she remembered these things.

Aymet didn't remember the last time he'd had a friendly spar. Or a fight with another student. The inclination to fight for his unlife against dangerous enemies was ingrained into him now. Amrita moved toward him, and his body reacted without hesitation, striking at her unprotected center. He didn't seem to know or even realize his own strength.

"Don't worry," he crowed. The light glinted off the distortion crystal that had been wedged back into its proper place on his gauntlet. "I never hold back!"

Aymet's strike hit true, enough to make the Vetala lose her momentum in her attack. Her only saving grace was the heel that came up to knock one of his legs, but other than that she was on the ground. It'd been a very long time since someone had hit her that hard, and it was admittedly quite the surprise.

She propped herself up on her elbows and couldn't resist laughing. "Good!" The ghoul chuckled out, rolling over and hopping back onto her backwards feet. "Nice hit, by the way." Despite knowing she was supposed to be serious, she really couldn't help it. Unlike Aymet she had practice with 'friendly' spars.

Learning from her mistake she protected her centre as best as she could, taking to circle her fellow Undead to look for an opening. When she thought she found one she ran to take it, but never got that far; the air changed and something shifted quite suddenly. What was meant to be a heavy hit barely glanced him, Amrita herself feeling a strange pull through...something.

She woke up with a gasp, sitting up quickly as though shocked. This...this wasn't the gym. This wasn't even Amityville any more. The fog It was familiar and painfully so; it brought back memories she didn't want to face, ones that were still quite fresh. A time where she attacked her dear friends for trying to save her. Still, the familiarity and recognition didn't stop the question from slipping through what was left of her lips.

"...What in Jack's name..."
