Theme Silent Running - Mike and the Mechanics
About: Kes' life has been turbulent and unpleasant, and the young female has yet to give in.
Born in a herd run by a perfectionist zealot, her mother tried escaping with her filly's basket with her mate... And they didn't fare so well. Her mother hid her and her brother's baskets before being overtaken, and her father was killed by the persuing Soquili in an accident. Left alone, the baskets surely would have died if not found by a pair of Soquili not unlike their parents - a Wind, and a Kelpi couple with no children of their own.
Kes and her brother were adopted immediately, raised by the pair before scattering, and Kes found herself traveling, kept strong by her parents who taught her to stand for her beliefs and a brother who helped her stand tall and cope with the nightmares from in her basket.
Kes chanced on her birth herd but once, and was nearly taken in on sight, although she evaded capture, meeting her mother, and the eldest son of the Leader before escape. Although she fell hard for the leader's son, Kes, in her forced escape, swore to save him, and his brother, moving to travel and become stronger to preserve her family - or wait out the mad stallion's lifespan so she can find and love hers again, as well as pin down and find her adoptive family, and brother.
