Zarin smiled and hung up the phone. He would need to speed up Annabelle's speech lessons over the next week or so. "Sweet dreams Annabelle." Zarin kissed her on the forehead.

The day that Zarin's parents were to arrive, Annabelle was in her cat form, being shy. She stayed close to Zarin though and only came out if he said it was okay. Other than that she was either hiding in the kitchen, looking for any scraps or something of that sort, or she was in his study hiding under his desk. She had heard they had a dog and wasn't too fond of them. She had heard when they called back that they were bringing the dog, a ST. Bernard named, Shadow. Annabelle refused to come out as she hid in the rafters of the living room. She was not wanting to meet Shadow. SHe hated dogs. She had been chased by one of those strays that hung around the mansion.

There was a knock at the door. Zarin opened it and found his mom and dad standing there. He let them come inside after hugging them both and asking how they were doing. They couldn't bring Shadow though, since they had to drop him off at the vets to get his yearly check-up.

When Annabelle heard what they said about the dog, she came down in another room. Then she peeked into the room where they were laughing and talking. Her icy blue eye's were watching them. She was being her usual shy self around his parents. They had no idea of her existence yet, so she was unsure what to think of his parents.

As Zarin was talking with his parents when he saw Annabelle out of the corner of his eye. He smiled and motioned for her to come over. "Come here Annabelle, you don't need to be shy."

Annabelle then went over to Zarin and laid down next to him,n burying her face shyly. His mother smiled and said "Oh Zarin. She's adorable. Where ever did you find such a sweet cat?" She then reached her hand out for Annabelle to sniff. But Annabelle, being as shy as she was climbed onto the back of the couch and laid behind Zarin's neck and purred softly as she headbutted his head like a regular cat would.

Zarin smiled as he scratched Annabelle's chin. "I found her out behind the mansion. She had been hurt by a stray dog and I took care of her injuries, after that, she decided to stick around." Zarin and Annabelle both knew that was a lie. Annabelle had been born in Zarin's lab, over the course of 6 months.

"Well I guess she doesn't like dogs then, and old Shadow really wanted to meet her. As soon as we said we had to leave him, he got all sad. I guess we'll just have to bring him next time." His mother said and his father, who was a dog person even said "Well she is quite a beauty." His mother was surprised, he never thought cats were pretty. "Well now, this is a surprise. You've never liked cats before." His mom said and his dad blushed. He never cared much for cats since he had an accident with one that cost him his hearing in one ear. Annabelle purred and climbed into Zarin's lap snuggling against him. "Well she sure is very fond of you. Are you sure she's not a human of any kind." His mother said jokingly. Annabelle looked up at Zarin and climbed onto his shoulder. She was the size of a kitten right now but her cat form was that of a real cat. She would grow with time, attention and love.
