[Open Class] Caregiver [Tomoko][First Aid][Pass]

She was turning into a big girl, yet there was some shame in Tomoko in having her inability actually take care of herself like one. Sure she could watch scarelings, but she couldn't even get herself unlost on her own from the snow....

It was with that in mind that the little kitsune had set off in hopes of bettering herself with some sort of skill set that would help her towards the goals she was aspiring to. Caregiving. If she was going to learn to take care of children like she wanted to do, she first needed to learn how to fix the little things - scrapes, bruises.... maybe she should have asked Jove to practice on him first.

Instead, she'd settled into the infirmary with one of the dummies, giving it a careful look over...

Ummmm...

"Is this mannequin supposed to be breathing?" she inquired towards Cricket. She was sure some of the others did (creepy) and had to make sure. It seemed from the nurse's single nod that this was what was off.

Tomoko put on her best pout ever.

Clearly, Tomoko wasn't actually sure how to approach what she was doing with actually 'fixing' the dummy, and it ended up laying on the floor on its side, the dummy itself somewhat cracked... but Tomoko would just..

smooth that over...

with an illusion.


Yep.


Nothing wrong here. Well, it was breathing, so that was great, just..broken.

She'd try again.

After fighting off the urge to hide the barely-fixed-but-broken-in-other-ways mannequin in a closet, Tomoko quietly ushered herself to a different one, taking a deep breath as she sat down and began a new examination. Healing was weird.

Were dummies a good way to practice?

Pressing a palm to its forehead, Tomoko noted that the dummy was super cold and immediately went into 'MUST SMOTHER IN BLANKETS' mode. She hoped that wouldn't be considered...wasteful.

And then Tomoko began to smother the poor thing in blankets. Whoops.

However, it seemed that the blankets were just enough to warm the poor thing up enough for Tomoko to feel better, sighing as she sat crouched over it, her hand still against its forehead.

"Phew."

Maybe that hadn't been too many blankets

Okay. One out of two wasn't bad. She was going to try for a third time and hope people didn't get frustrated by Tomoko's decision to just have a practice day for healing stuff. Yeah.

Okay, third dummy, checking for ailments....

Unlike the last one, this one was burning up! Tomoko almost immediately retracted her hand with a frown, before she got up to start up her gathering of supplies again.

And then Tomoko killed another dummy.

Actually she didn't. That was silly. Never the less, Tomoko was very careful to get a few too many rags wetted down with cold water, laying this new dummy down to set the cool compress across their foreheads while making a face that was very fret-worthy.

Fortunately the dummy cooled down with time and she felt better about that.

She still didn't feel all that great about her progress, however, and Tomoko took a nervous glance around before she made her way to a fourth dummy to start another check-up. This was getting a little easier with time and repetition.

This dummy was burning up even more than the previous one had been! Which meant it was time for Tomoko to make it strip and start worrying about getting it somewhere cool - like away from the window and somewhere shadier and less crowded. Ahhhhhhhhh....

Despite her mild amounts of panic - which was how Tomoko went about everything she did in life at times - the kitsune was able-bodied enough to get the dummy shoved underneath a desk without cracking it (like she had one of the others, sigh) and made sure that there wasn't too many blankets around to try and crowd in the heat.

Then she went back for more cold compresses, taking some of the ones she'd used on her fevered dummy to get this new one to cool down as well.

And be better.

She hoped.


To be honest, she still felt kind of anxious, but that was as much time as she had for practice that way.
