Oh my goodness, he is one lucky betta in that nice big tank. (: Any big plans for it? Are you thinking about plants or anything?

I'm thinking of getting some larger marble type things for substrate and more silks. Maybe some small java moss and keep it trimmed back. :3 He made his first bubble nest tonight and it surprised the heck out of me!!
My first and foremost obligation though is to get my 55 situated with a proper filter >_< It's running with two 20gal filters (I think they're 20's :X ) so it really needs a 50+ one.
After that I may even decide to split the tank someday but I'm not sure. I like bettas but I'm quite partial to this little guy so far ^-^
He flared for me today. Thinking I may need a second hand to help with getting a good picture of a full flare but I'm glad to see it ^_^

Congraduations. You now have full blown MTS. It's all down here from here XD
What a lucky boy to get a 20 long all to himself! You should fill it up all the way wink
For your 55, I'd suggest around 800 gph of filtration (for up to 80 gallons). You really need a lot of with goldfish and plecos! AquaClear filters are my favorites. Be sure to read how many gph it does, and not just go by the recommended tank size. I fully disagree with the tank sizes they say on the boxes now!
I got a bigger filter for the goldfish today. Not the 800 GPH but it should be suitable for now until there's a tad more money to throw at a very adequate one or a second one. I really like having two filters compared to one just because dust and cat hair always find a way into my tank.
And since they got a new filter I moved the biowheel to the betta tank, filled it up with just an inch of breathing room and baffled that. Also got some gravel for the goldies. Yay :3
