A tall, thin cage overlooking a disused cafeteria. When the facility was still a prison, lo those many years ago, this was the place where the most troublesome inmates were kept whenever they made a public disturbance. For days on end they would get only what scraps were thrown to them. Later, when the facility was converted into an insane asylum, the most volatile and dangerous people in attendance were made to eat in here during mealtimes. Now it plays host to nothing but the occasional rat and a few spiders.
Note: Contestants will start in the cage, which is about ten meters tall, two meters wide, and twenty meters long. The floor is covered in garbage.

Their dummies were already here, the lighter one obviously belonging to her. Both situated within the cave, she knew the rules of the engagement and first attack on a dummy won. A protection mission, simple but effective. However, they weren't meant to just be escorts but assassins as well. The best way to follow out both orders would be to set a trap. Her arms would fly out and paper would flood from her body and cover the small cage they were meant to start in. Looking down into the destroyed cafeteria, noting how that would not be needed in this situation. The paper would fall upon the ground and attach itself to the walls and ceiling, the cage itself. Before she did weave hand seals, speaking no words and casting a transformation technique upon the items she had hid throughout the battleground. Concealing them from view, however even if seen, they would only appear as degrading portions of the garbage ridden cell itself. When the match started she would merely strike the dummy at its weak spot, and end the match. There were no rules against preparation after all. She certainly hadn't seen any, anywhere.
The user is more aware of how a genjutsu affects the mind, making them more aware and able to detect genjutsu and thus more resistant to it. Increases genjutsu detection, and reduces Kai cost by 1 rank.
The user can perform both types of arts (ninjutsu and genjutsu) through their performance or instrument, often casting them at the same time (must pay for both techniques). Can perform D rank techniques through instrument at gennin, C and Chunnin, B at jounin, A at Konin, and S at Sannin.
Genjutsu and Ninjutsu can be cast through singing, following the same restrictions as the Musician Subclass
Slipping into the cage, Samuru went to his own dummy, ignoring his opponent for now. He held a box under one arm and set it down as he walked over to stand beside his dummy "Samuru Sanmiitai." he brought his hands up as if beginning to conduct an orchestra and the box split open. Two puppets unfolded, twins, and stepped to the side and back of the dummy, his chakra stringing to their bodies "Peilli and Pelleg." Peilli raised a hand, slender knives sliding out of the fingers. Pelleg flashed his arms out, small spikes rowing along his arms as he stretched. Both puppets and Samuru bowed before both puppets lunged at the girl, Peilli going from above and Pelleg striking left. Peilli's knifed fingers raked at the girl's face while Pelleg's arm slammed forward to strike her in the stomach, the spikes holding a nerve toxin that would cause hemophilia along with numbness in the strike spot.

She would watch as her opponent entered, knowing nothing about him. None of his talents or capabilities, however these things would become apparent as summoned two puppets from a box. Identical and nature, his only words were of introduction. However, it didn't seem like it was for the sake of formalities. Taking the time where the puppets bowed to introduce herself as well. "Bellatrix Spectre." She would mutter in her normal monotonous tone before the puppets would lunge forward. She would open her mouth, and release a strong vibrato of notes through the abandoned cell and cafeteria. Along with her performance, so too would she end the charade. Her chakra would vibrate throughout the room, and it would erupt into life. She would take a joyous leap backwards away from the two puppets, perhaps not enough to keep them from pursuing, she did have to push her dummy back with her after all. Alas her voice awakened the paper that would spiral as he hands flew through seals. Something she could not do with her voice quite yet. The paper she had hidden about the prison would erupt in front of. Soaring upwards in the form of origami birds before contorting their forms to shuriken in order to pepper the puppets that had come after her. Even more so, paper did flow from her body and follow the same pattern. Alas, this was but the distraction, the hand seals were for neither of these techniques. From behind Samuru's puppet, as well as at its feet the same occurrences would happen. A film of wind chakra expanding across their form and increasing their capabilities by a mundane amount. They would easily cleave right through the dummy, and end this Exam fight. Protecting a dummy, how droll.

Samuru nodded his head in acknowledgement of her name and quietly performed the single thing that might save his chances. He had Pelleg use Transfer. Instantly, Bellatrix would find herself facing one puppet, Peilli, who used his knife fingers to rip through the paper. Pelleg, in the mean time, had vanished, reappearing by the dummy. Transfer allowed Pelleg to move at Jounin speed and return to Samuru. Grabbing the dummy, Pelleg launched itself upward to cling to the top of the cage as Samuru orchestrated Peilli's next attack. Still covered in paper shuriken, some gouged in its wooden face, Peilli required no sight to continue towards Bellatrix. Skidding to a halt, the puppet's arms bent backwards at the elbows and whips burst out from them. Jerking them out wide then in sharply, the whips twisted around Bellatrix, going to strike the dummy's neck and, if it connected, wrap around and yank it free from her protection.

Her song would not cease, as the puppet went above the redirected shuriken would flow with it. However, that point would be moot. Puppets were always controlled by their masters, meaning what the master could not see could not be perceived by the puppet. She would perform more hand seals as the wires came for her, her song never ending. As the whips came in, Peilli would be completely torn apart. The shuriken that coated its body would be coated with wind, forcing them to spin once more ferociously. His entire body covered in such things, left the creation no room for evasion. However, that was not all, as Bellatrix had already coated and hidden her paper all over the cell even on the ceiling. The sounds of cracking wood would hide the form of paper shuriken emerging from underneath Pelleg, from the ceiling. Hopefully piercing into the dummy while the puppets master was unawares.

As Peilli's wood skin was torn apart, Samuru sighed and released the chakra strings holding it. Falling apart, the metal bones of the puppet remained, shreds of clothing remaining. Now fully concentrated on Pelleg, Samuru saw he needed to release Pelleg as well. A sad fact but at least this would cut down on the repair cause. Throwing the dummy hard at Samuru, Pelleg collapsed useless to the ground. Catching his dummy, he held it carefully to his side, watching the woman now "...well set up." he said quietly, indicating her ability to have planned ahead. Samuru used one hand to slide a tonfa out of the holster at his side, holding it ahead of him "..." the only jutsu he had would be useless against this woman. He wanted to fight...and win. But this was not going well and he didn't see it getting much better. To get close, he'd have to leave his dummy behind and that would allow her to use her paper weapons on it. But if he used Pelleg, he'd be stuck here, unable to fight back...a no win situation due to his lack of skills. Throughout this, he hadn't moved from his position, tonfa up for a fight but "...my loss." Samuru set the dummy down behind him and slid his tonfa back in its holster. Bellatrix had set up her traps well....he'd lost. But it didn't bother him that he'd lost...he had done everything he could. Looking at Peilli, he felt mournful, a small sadness etching his features as he walked to collect his puppets, allowing her to make the final strike on the dummy.

Her eyes went from the destroyed puppet before her to the falling puppet from above. Watching it collapse as he captured the dummy. Her singing becoming a low him in her throat, closing her mouth but continuing the notes for any unknown circumstance. A certain uneasiness towards his compliment, of sorts. Always scorn in her home whenever she had done something radical, or out of the ordinary. Annoying, even to her Kage, because she didn't fit the mold of the everyday ninja. The sound of her voice would echo roughly as the tonfa was with drawn, bringing to life several shuriken around Samuru in response to the revealed tonfa. Awaiting the action he would take, only to find his forfeit. Dropping the dummy to the ground. In that very instance the dummy would be peppered with paper shuriken. Allowing her voice to cease for the very first time in the match as she would leap backwards and sit atop her own dummy. "Logging the battle data." Her words as she crossed her legs, replaying the fight in her mind. Though she never ran short, she had used quite a bit of chakra. That was not a good thing in her mind, being wasteful in an actual battle could have cost her much. This time was only fruitful, because the objective was to strike a dummy.

Checking Pelleg for damage, Samuru found only a few scratches and some cracks along his face. Nodding to himself, he pulled the puppet up and over his shoulder, walking to the ruins of Peilli "....mmm." he replied to Bellatrix's mention of logging battle data. It was kind of nice...not having to make conversation. He liked talking to Jae, who talked a lot, but not having to actually think about words was nice. His relief at not talking fell as he took a look at Peilli. The puppet's metal structure had remained intact, some minor scratches, but the wood was shattered beyond his own ability to repair it. Only the single blue eye remained a recognizable feature on the face "Back to Takumi...." he sighed, thinking of the repairs that would be needed to bring Peilli back. Gathering Peilli as well, he went back to the box, folding the two puppets back in. Straddling the box with its strap over his back, he looked at Bellatrix "Thank you for a good bout..." he bowed from the waist, hair falling around his face before he straightened and left the area.

She would rise swiftly as her opponent left. Leaving her paper where it was, recoating them in the transformation techniques to blend in with the garbage. There was no telling if she would ever come back to this room again. She would turn, flipping the thin strands of hair that hung from her head as she went to exit this place. So drab, and so gloomy. Much like the prisons in Kiri, but that was another matter entirely. There was someone there she would have to take care of, especially once she returned. She could tell this Examination would make her much stronger. She would need that power.
