Heya girlies! I just got a new kitten. c: Her name is Trixie. My little fluff ball. ♥ She's a happy and healthy little thing. But, I was wondering what should I exactly be feeding her? I feed her soft food with a little bit of milk. She seems happy and all, but is it the RIGHT thing I should be feeding a little kitten? Before we got her the previous owners fed her adult cat food with milk on it so make it easier for her to eat. I'm not sure what she should exactly be eating. Am I doing it right, or should I fix her meals?
AND BTW. Here she is. c:

I had to raise four baby kittens after their mother died.
Their mother was hand raised by me as well so
taking care of em wasn't so bad.

First of all- how old is the kitten?
Can she open her eyes yet? I cant tell by the picture.
What kind of milk are you feeding it?
Most cats are lactose intolerant so cow milk is a no no.
Even if they arent lactose intolerant, it's still not good
          to give it cow's milk.

Go to your nearest pet store and get some KMR
Kitten Milk Replacement. Wallmart would usually have em.
She will need to be on it until she is about 8 weeks old and has
to be feed every 2 to 3 hours.

If she around 4 to five weeks old - I would recommend dry cat food that
has been crushed and mixed with some kitten milk.
Leave some of the food whole just so it can nibble on.

Oh. And make sure she is pooping. After feeding, stimulate her to urinate
          and poop.

But really- this sort of info can be found all over google.
They'll say the same or about the same thing as me xD
All in all- you do what you think is best.
Best source though is to just go to a nearby vet and ask them
yourself about how to take care of your pets.
          Thats what I did.

Aww what a cute little kitten! So precious! And i'm not a cat expert but if its just a kitten milk sounds good, but don't go by my word or anything, go possibly by Ahomine-x or another cat expert~

Good luck~ heart

Definitely make sure it's not milk that us humans would drink (cow milk, goat milk, soy, etc.) because that can give her stomach problems. Another thing is when you are picking out dry food later on, check the bag to make sure it has little or no Taurine in it. People may tell you it is good for the little ones, but my cat had problems urinating after eating food with Taurine in it. I've known other people to have the same problems with their cats. If you are going for dry food all the time, make sure you give her enough water. It is also a good thing to maybe once every week give her half a can of wet food. The wet food has more nutrients in it to help keep her skin and fur from getting dry. This is all things to do when she gets older. Hope this will help. smile

First off, how old is your little darling? She looks like she's about 10 or 12 weeks old. If she is she doesn't need any milk, she will have been weaned. Dry kitten food and canned food will keep her healthy and happy.

While I agree with most of what 13 Mockingjay says, taurine is important for cats because it's an aminoacid they can't produce on their own. Unless a cat is prone to kidney problems it's ok for them to have it.

Also, if she's 100% an indoor cat her food should be formulated for it with extra vitamin K.
