Yesterday I was involved in a bad car accident. I was the passenger and my dad was driving. We got rear-ended at a red light...my guess was 40 mph, but the adjuster said that, based on the damages, she was going a lot faster. We were in an SUV, so luckily that helped to lessen the impact. It was a pretty violent blow. The car was declared totaled and we're going through the process right now with speaking to people (not so much me as with my dad). It was going up a hill. The lady said her visor was down, and when she pulled it up, she was into the car. (Okay?)
So the lesson is...for all you current and prospective drivers...be attentive! It only takes one time to be involved in a bad car accident that could cause serious injury and potential litigation. And most don't think it will happen to them. Also, look at your rear view frequently enough. It might save you from an inattentive driver.
I'm okay, though. i just had a little bump. My dad has back pain.
