The note said come to the bruteball field at high noon, wear reasonable clothes, and be ready for your exam. Nothing more, nothing less. Sealed with red wax, the school's insignia made it official, along with the overly extravagant signature of one professor. Gnomes delivered the letters at 10 am on the dot the day of. They were kind of getting better. Two hours notice was better than none at all right? Either way, gnomes would herd them to the spot at the appropriate hour. They wouldn't be missing such an important exam. Not on Rengath's time.

As they would arrive, the demon sat, curled up on the player's bench reading what looked to be Let of Hams. A human historical novel translated by 'The Academy of Human Highchooler Suffering'.

Gnomes shuffled around awkwardly, the center of the field surrounded by what looked like a barricade. Tall, jagged, a tower sat in the middle, high. It was hard to tell if it was actually structurally sound, or, it was just something the gnomes had put together last second. It looked like both at the same time. Recently put up and sound. Sort of. A snap, the book was shut and Rengath stood, eying the students. "I see you're here. Good. Now- Congrats, you have an exam to take. First lets cast you hrm-" A small notepad pulled from his pocket he listed the names.. and their apparent roles.

"Efflo, Fence army. Molan, Fence Resistance. Miasma, Fence Resistance. Gabriel... personal escort" He frowned, "It's from a book. I only go by what I'm given.. Andrew... Trevaj." Yes, that seemed about right. "Efflo, Andrew, you will be on the outside, along with the gnomes. Molan, Miasma, you on the inside with the minipets. Gabby, you will be in the tower. The point of this-" He held out a loaf of bread, "-Is capture the bread. This game evolved from a real historical human event, which later became a well known game of baked goods and bloodshed. Gabriel, as you are the escort, the bread begins with you. In the tower you must hoard the bread all for yourself and prevent anyone from stealing it. Minis on the inside will try to climb the tower, Molan and Miasma must prevent this, and-" Rengath pointed to Efflo and Andrew, "-prevent them from breaking in."

"Efflo, Andrew, you goal is to guide the gnomes past the barricade and minis and storm the tower- Andrew, as Trevaj, you carry the ability to summon more gnomes. Hard to say what they will do. It's a free for all really, the goal is capture, not eat, not burn, not give away, and certainly not STEAL- the loaf. Just... get into your places. You'll figure it out." He dismissed them, cracking open his book once more.

Herded to their places it looked like their little game was about to begin.

Quote:
Welcome to Les Souffrances.
Battle royal.

  • Gabby- In the tower with the bread. The tower has 25 HP.
  • Bread- Has 5 HP. It is slightly stale.
  • Molan and Miasma- In the circle, with minipets. There are 20 minipets, and their barricade has 40 HP.
  • Efflo and Andrew- Outside of the barricade, they have 40 Gnomes.
  • Minipets- Wild, they attack any intruders for 5 damage. However they also will damage the tower each round for however many minipets there are divided by two.
  • Gnomes- Reckless and violent, they do 5 damage to the barricade and tower. However for every 5 gnomes on field, those allied with them take -3 HP each time they take an action/move.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:
Gabby- By sacrificing 1hp of the bread, he can toss some outside the tower, summoning +5 Minipets.
Andrew- By singing 'And I'm Trevaj' he can summon +5 gnomes to assist him... if he dares. If he does this 3 times however, he will be 'sacrificed for suffering'

Basically, think of it as a massive game of Team Fortress 2. Stupid allies included.

Rounds are GM posts- they will occur every 24 hours if you've posted or not. I will be keeping tabs on the damage gnomes and minis do to the tower/barricade each round- it's mostly up to you guys if you want to kill or summon more dumb allies however. Each move you do you will take the penalty for.
IE: I am Efflo, I attack the barricade (use reg dice, keep tabs of dmg done)- I take -3 hp from my gnome allies.
IE: I am Miasma, I chose to leave the minis alone. Since at the end of round 1 there are still 20 minis, the tower takes 10 damage.
IE: I am Gabby, I choose to do nothing. Bread remains safe.
You CAN attack allies, your own walls, others- Its free for all.
Gnomes and Minipets- any damage taken will result in them leaving the battlefield as it were.

I GET THAT THIS IS A BIT CONFUSING, (Because it is) So feel free to AIM me or PM me questions. Round 1 will begin Tomorrow morning. Later tonight because got called into work early jfc

Molan wasn't particularly busy, but really... two hours notice? Either the gnomes were as useless as usual, or their instructor assumed no one ever potentially had homework to do. Probably the gnomes thing. Either way, the demon was ready to leave on time and headed out to the field to wait, giving the odd set-up a bit of a look as he arrived.

Seriously? What was their teacher thinking? And why was there this... army of gnomes around? And minipets that looked ready to bite. Well, just best to wait for an explanation for the insanity that seemed to be en exam. It was to be an exam, right? It was certainly feeling, and looking, a bit more like a crazy class. Maybe a bit akin to that one with the inkjars and...

Hopefully he would get out of this a normal set of colors. He really didn't feel like repeating that one at the moment. Still, as everyone arrived he nodded at Mia, ignored Andrew entirely, and merely gave the other two a look before denoting that he didn't really know them. Which meant he didn't care too much. And then Rengath was speaking, explaining roles for all of them.

Fence... resistance? Well okay. At least he was apparently on the same team as Miasma, that was certainly a plus. And apparently he was against Andrew. Even better. No team work with fire things required. But they were still apparently fighting over a loaf of bread. Which opted his simple gesture to the bread with one hand. "So in short, just get that and don't lose it." Which seemed to be the point. Apparently this was based on some human event, which somehow... made it make more sense. Humans were weird, weirder than he'd last imagined.

Oh well. Apparently he had to stop Andrew. That meant just beating the boil to a pulp if he tried. Or letting minipets eat him... or something.

He was not going to hit cute little minipets though, wild or not.

Silly humans and their bread.

And suddenly they had an excuse to try and murder each other a bit.

It was a rather quiet day, one he had spent the morning of outside. The warmer days put more fire to his blood, though not as much as going back home always did. He was minding his own business when the gnomes hunted him down herding him to the field with a paper with an unmistakable seal. Thankfully he was wearing something suitable for being outside already.

When he saw Rengath, and the setup, his first thought was that they were doing some kind of play. But once the directions were given he realized it was some sort of game.

Apparently he was some human named Trevaj. Ok he could handle that. But summon more gnomes? He glanced at the nasty creatures. “Sure.” They were playing some sort of war game? He glanced at Molan and Mai paired up on the other side and then grinned. He was like a king with his own little army of ill-tempered gnomes. He had not delusions of actually being able to control them, but it would be interesting to watch the pair cry over their cloths being torn or worst. One never knew with gnomes.

No burning the bread? Awe… he could burn Molan a little bit thought right? He glanced at the frost demon with thoughts of fire in his head. But Efflo was undead, he might want to save his fire, a little. Going to his place, and shaking off a gnome, Andrew waited for the game to start. “Ready Efflo? We got to go capture your boilfriend.”
