New World - A Fantasy Romance Roleplay

~The World~
This is a new world - the world - a world like our modern one, but there are no electronics and luxuries like we're used to, such as phones or computers, there is only basic electricity. Society, however, is no different... except for the acceptance of magic that exists in everyday life. Though magic is something that is widely accepted, it is not a necessity to life and nothing has been built to require magic. There are still humans who walk the earth, but few humans are really "true" humans, most are mutts with some kind of magical blood.
The world has also reverted to a monarchical society. All countries on all continents are ruled by a separate monarchy.
Unfortunately, in this newly formed Earth where magical and non-magical beings live together in such close quarters, they do not live in harmony. There is a growing prejudice among some minorities of the magical races against the humans. Because of this, many humans are beginning to rise up in racism towards their magical brethren, claiming that it is the majority who are trying to breed them out and are treating them as something other than an equal people.

At this point in time, the Dragon King and Nymph Queen of Aneshia (this world's "America") - living in their floating castle above the country - have two children, twins in fact, that have come of age. The Prince and his sister are soon to turn 17-years-old: the age at which they must choose a spouse so that one day they may take the throne. In honor of this occasion, the king and queen are planning a party at which they will invite other princes and princesses from all of countries and kingdoms to join them as bachelors and bachelorettes for the twins. For this masquerade - a party they plan almost every year, but this one will be one of the grandest as it is the coming-of-age party - they have, as in years past, invited 10 random peasants of each different race from their kingdom to attend as well.

Our story begins one month before the masquerade is to occur. The invitations have been sent out and the guests will be traveling soon. This year's civilians have been notified as well.

~The Rules~

1. No godmodding, cybering, etc. you will be given a warning on your first offense, and you will be removed from the roleplay if you continue.
2. PM all profiles to Baya Sullivan.
3. Title PM as "Welcome to the world" when you send characters.
4. Proper grammar and spelling as well as full sentences and as few one-liners as possible. If you can't think of a post, or you don't know how to spell a word to begin with, we will understand.
5. Romance is highly encouraged, violence is allowed, but please remember we are keeping it PG13!
6. Any major changes or plot twists - pregnancy, marriage, deaths, etc. - must be run by and approved by the admins FIRST.
7. We will not tolerate rudeness, hate speech, is mistreatment of any and all who join this roleplay. Be polite!
8. PLEASE, if you join this roleplay and make a character, do not neglect it. Try to reply at least once a week, and if something happens and you cannot be online for a while, let us know!

Name: Tonks Smith.
Nickname: None.
Age: Nineteen.
Gender: Female.
Race: Human.
Ability: Element, earth.
Rank: Peasant.
Personality: Powerful and independent. Not the most friendly, but not completely impolite. A little sensitive about her social status, but makes up for it with brash remarks.
Biography: Tonks was born in a family with next to no abilities. Her family has crafted weapons and armor for centuries, but when Tonks found out about her ability, that didn't seem to be the same road she would take. She worked with her area's fellow earth-gifted creatures and worked for quite a decent pay. She was well-educated and never uttered a single complaint. She was given an invitation and doesn't know what to think of it.
Romantic Interest: None.

Other: Though Tonks spent much of her time with other elementalists, she also spent much time with her father and as a result, is fairly skilled in crafting numerous weapons and pieces of armor.

Race: Half-human and half-fae
Ability: Telekinesis
Rank: Rayonee’s prince
Personality: Ren is quiet, to say the least. Despite this, he is a bold and charismatic character. He has tendencies to assert his control over things, and gets a little irritated when things don’t go to plan. He is a tad shy, yes, but he speaks honestly. Almost too honest really, to the point of being blunt.
Biography: As the first born child in his family, Ren was subjected to a lot of criticism and expectation to be the heir to the throne. Moreover, the fact that his mother was a human concubine to the Fae king of Rayonee, offered a lot of objection to Ren’s lineage growing up. The racism towards humans was particularly strong in Rayonee, and the fact that Ren was half-human meant opposition towards his title as heir. Nonetheless, Ren fights against the political unrest. He has recently received his invitation to Aneshia, as he does and attends every year. He hopes that with this ball, he can rest somewhat from the burdens of his life back home.
Romantic Interest: Eureka; Ren has taken quite a liking to her despite the fact that he should be interested more with Aneshia’s princess

Other: Because Ren is half-human, he does not have complete immortality nor does he have complete strength over his powers. His glamour ability is also only temporary.

Personality: Independent and free-spirited, Eureka is a kindred person. She is rightful, yet passively so rather than violence. This is not to be mistaken for being weak, for she fights for what she believes in. However, she is gullible and slightly naïve.
Biography: The region of Norzion is a harsh climate for those who cannot bare the chill of an almost constant winter. This is the land of the wolves, mostly, who dominate the region. Eureka is a princess of this country, her father ruling the largest pack of werewolves in the world. Her home is a mountain surrounded by forests and plains. Because Eureka is one of the youngest amongst her pack, her father elected her to go to Aneshia as a marriage candidate, after being invited to the ball. While she finds being invited something she should be proud of, for the sake of her country, she also finds it a tad confining.

Here's just a little list of the countries available to those of you playing non-local characters. You may make up some of your own minor countries, if you get it approved by us, but these are the major ones.

Aneshia - The location in which the story takes place, the equivalent of most of North America.
Yourthall - Mountainous country to the North that covers most of the Northern regions, the equivalent of both Canada and half of the North Pole.
Norzion - Snow-covered region that covers the rest of the Northern regions into the Northeast, the equivalent of the other half of the North Pole and extends to Iceland and Greenland regions.
Varallion - A large, cold country in the center of the Eastern world, the equivalent of Russia and England, and most of Europe.
Cepris - A densely populated country that covers most of the Southeast regions in the Southern hemisphere, the equivalent of most of Asia.
Soreshia - Country just below Aneshia separated by several miles of ocean, the equivalent of South America.
Esper - A hot, dry country, the equivalent of Africa.
Rayonee - Caught between hot and cold climates, the equivalent of Antarctica and Australia.
