Personalities:

Land is...

• A free spirit. Incredibly laid back, he tends to go with the flow while approaching things from a 'c'est la vie' standpoint. It takes an incredible amount of stress (internal or external) to shake him visibly.
  
• A little lazy. On the surface, at least. A large fan of naps and other related forms of relaxation, meditation and just zoning out while contemplating life, the universe and everything (42), some people just have no idea what Land does, if anything, until he actually does it.
  
• A creative force. Along with a journal filled with the written word, Land also keeps a sketch log filled with images from memories, encounters and dreams. In addition to his first aid kit, he also has a compartmentalized box of beads and colored string/twine to make new bracelets and necklaces in the event he loses any of the ones he came to the Island wearing.
  
• A ray of sunshine. Maybe it's the extra layers of clothes and his willingness to share them should anyone be cold, or maybe it's the smile that warms his face and lights his eyes. Land is usually in a bright mood and expresses this by humming, singing, whistling, etc. Hope you don't mind the noise...
  

Tivadar is...

• A disgruntled voice. Tivadar has spent enough time dormant that he sounds as though he would almost rather stay that way. It's going to take a little bit of work to draw him out, but the end result should be worthwhile.
  
• An interested party. Despite the above, Tivadar is rather curious about his human, even if loathe to admit it.Why was the bond formed between them and what can they learn from each other? They do say that curiosity killed the cat... Perhaps it is a good thing that Tivadar was once part bird as well.
  
• A touch sarcastic. Not always the best at expressing his opinions, especially not when it comes to things that Land is trying to make light of, Tivadar defers to dry sarcasm as a natural defense mechanism. He was quite the eye-roller as well, when he had eyes...
  
• A song bird. Tivadar likes to make sounds; sing, hum, coo, chirp... Sometimes appropriately and on key, others... Not so much.

Together they are...

• One hell of a duet. Sadly, people on the outside can only hear Land's half of it. One Sweet Day, anyone?
  
• Learning to adapt. Quite possibly a process, but one that Land agreed to undertake and one that Tivadar has no choice in.
  
• To be reckoned with. Once Land learns how to wield him properly, I'm sure...

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?

It had started the night he had gotten the scars on his face; setting him on a path that there was no coming back from. He had felt things before, but that was the first night that he had seen something... He might have been fine if that was all it had been; no more than a spotting, a quick glimpse, but it had been more. Whatever it was that he had spotted had caught a glimpse of him as well.

Startled and quickly scrambling back, young Arland had been unable to shield his face completely from the fury of slashes. The markings continued along his arms where the shirt he had worn at the time (blue blazer and white button down; part of his school uniform, he was 12) had been shredded, the creature taking scraps of fabric and slices of skin along with it. He had screamed and cried. He hadn't been brave; hadn't been able to protect himself, and wouldn't have been able to protect any others had the creature returned. He was just a boy? What could a little boy do?

A little boy could grow up with a fondness for wearing long sleeves, even in the summer. A little boy could start spending more time along with his sketch book as he grew up, burying himself in fantasy sketches and games of the imagination because they were less frightening than the flashes that he could remember; gleaming golden eyes, long talons scraping, swiping...

He crumpled the piece of paper, tossing it in to the waste bin next to his desk after his pen had slid, scrawling an awkward line up along the side of the ledger. He could never draw the creature as clearly as he had seen it, but it had been there. It had been.

Eventually, as he grew up, he began to let it go; tried to, at least, as best as he could. Old enough to make decisions for his own, he had stepped in to a tattoo parlor; the first step was to cover up the scars.

And then came the question... Do you want to learn how to protect yourself from the sort of creature that did this to you? Do you want to be able to protect others?

Yes. The answer was, most definitely and always, yes.


Weapon Ability

Thunderous Landing - Type: Headlights Activation: Striking the ground firmly with Tivadar. The result is an amplified, rumbling sound, much like thunder; extremely effective for disorientation/distraction, especially on a sunny, cloudless day.

Skin Colour: 'Likely burns to a crisp in the sun' cream.
Clothing Style/Colours: Laid back and mostly practical; suitable for any situation, including a number of outdoorsy ones. Motto seems to be 'if you're hot you can take layers off, but you can never have enough layers if you're cold'. Beige scarf.

I'm honestly imagining things like Ripple or old pub songs. XD Although I'm pretty sure that Land has a few things by Eminem on his ipod that Tivadar is going to be forced to listen to so that might very well be a possibility at some point. XD

Thank you for bringing that up, Vamps! I somehow missed that section on the weapons and I had tweaked one of the things that I'd had up there after seeing someone post something in the thread to the effect of the general 'age' of creature -> weapon converts but I'd missed that part.
