Hel gritted her teeth as her punch barely got the knight. Okay, at least she wasn't missing though, right? Seriously, she needed to look into acquiring a weapon to just carry around once she was able...

The reaper leapt over the spear as it was swung at her, and there she saw her chance. The ghoul launched herself into the air with a flip, and brought a foot out to deliver a hard kick up towards the knight, sending its helmet spiraling up and across the room. The reaper back flipped away and landed on her feet, releasing a loud breath as the rest of the armor followed suit, dissipating.

She released another breath as it was just her and the mist now...

Well...her and the mist and...her diploma. Hel stared at the piece of paper for a long while, and then fidgeted anxiously.

"...I will be back!" She suddenly declared, and then turned and left.

12. Prompt - Who You Wanted to Be
You step into the room. In the blink of an eye, you realize that you are now your childhood dream. What did you want to be when you were a scareling? For those that were suddenly spawned into existence, you are now the first profession you took an interest in. What is it? Are you successful?

Hel moved from the circular room into another, briefly glancing back at her diploma until she was in the next room...

"Welcome home, honey!" Hel said cheerfully, spinning to meet her beloved, frying pan in hand and apron swishing to reveal a whole lot of nothing underneath.

The reaper stepped out of that room and then snorted loudly, a hand slapping over her mouth. She almost forgot about that. Hey, not all child hood dreams were decent.

7. Prompt - Run.
You step into the next room. Something urges you further into the room, faster and faster until you start running. The walls melt away. You're being chased. Sneak a glance back. Who are they? Why are they after you? What did you do?

Hel reached the next door and opened it. She didn’t go through it though, and instead narrowed her eyes at the open door. No…this room felt familiar, like she needed to run…again. She wasn’t going to go through it again…she wanted something new! She closed the door.

8. Prompt - The World In My Hands
The room you step into shifts and spins. When it settles, something tells you you're in the Human World. What will you do? Will you harvest Fear the Halloween or Horseman way? Will you perform Tricks or Treats? You have full run of the Human World now. What will you do?

Hel opened the door again, and was greeted once more by the lights and sounds of a big city. She blinked, and just took a moment to stare at everything again before she closed the door. Once again, she already experienced that…

3. Prompt - Forged Anew
You step into a room. Except it now isn't a room anymore. You realize quite quickly that you are now a Hunter's Weapon. What kind of weapon are you? Who is the human you're with? What is your relationship? And oh, look -- your human appears to be fighting against someone you recognize. You don't remember their name. But there's something about them that sparks... something within you. Is it joy? Sadness? Hatred? You... You don't quite know why you're feeling it, but you can't deny the feeling is there.

When she opened the next door, she hesitated for a moment. This was….different. Definitely. Part of her honestly wasn’t sure if she even wanted to go through it…but that was silly. To be scared and afraid…that was stupid.

She stepped through the door, and everything faded away. Her body faded away, but her consciousness remained in the form of a winged Viking spear glowing with orange runes. It was strewn across the shoulders of a cheerful young man wearing a white coat with gold trim and a sun emblem emblazoned on the back. They were patrolling the Haunted House, and Claude was whistling while he milled about a torn up room.

<…>

Something told her she never wanted this, but she couldn’t exactly say why. She couldn’t quite remember how she got like this. It was a void of self loathing and loss, with the occasional snippet of another time that came so fleetingly she wasn’t ever sure if it was real or not. Oh well.

<…Pay attention, stupid.>

Claude startled as another presence made itself known with a shrill cry, and he readied his weapon as the being came into sight. Her bright blue eyes were focused and fierce, her long flaxen braid whipped behind her, her wings were flared and out and her axe was out and ready to cut anyone down who was foolish enough to get in her way.

“Well, well, well~” He grinned. “Never thought I’d get to see a valkyrie~ They say you guys are rare at Amity!”

Despite being spoken to, the valkyrie paid him no heed. Instead, her heated gaze was fixed on his weapon, and even though Hel didn’t have eyes, she knew that this creature was looking at her. Not her form, but her. She was familiar. That feeling of remembrance tugged at her core, but she couldn’t place a name to the solemnly beautiful face, and something about that fierce look rattled her to the core. It spoke volumes.

It accused her of betrayal.

1. Prompt - A Letter To My Future Self --
You step into a room. Except it now isn't a room anymore. A quick look down at yourself reveals that you've changed. You know that you're still you, and part of you realizes that you are your future self. Describe a day in the life of your future self, the future that you see your character in.

Everything brightened though, until her ‘vision’ was consumed by white, and she was aware of the sound of a door opening. Hel paused as she entered the cottage and squinted her eyes for a moment as they adjusted to the dimmer light inside. “So bright out…” She murmured to herself, and then stared up at the wooden beamed ceiling in thought as she closed the door behind her. Okay, she saw the asshat off for his few week business trip, and now she needed to get ready to go on hers. Off to the human world with Nox for a few weeks to treasure hunt! Something about some kind of ancient settlement up in some mountains in some place in South America ripe with FEAR and treasure…

But first…she needed to make herself some breakfast! She’d been really consumed that morning cooking up a storm for that jerk. Breakfast, food to last him for some days until his next stop…but that was okay…Hel had her quick back up. Toaster strudels. She made a bee line for the kitchen, dodging some scareon pups with practiced ease along the way, and pulled the box out of the freezer. She skimmed along the counter until she came to the spot where—

Hel looked baffled as she stared at the empty spot on the counter.

“Where the ******** is the toaster!?” Hel looked down one end of the counter and then the other. Point was she spent nine whole minutes trying to find the damn thing…and guess where she found it?

In the fridge.

Someone got a very angry text message about how it wasn’t ******** cute to put ******** toasters in the ******** fridge.

Hel angrily munched on her strudels, leaning against the counter as she ate, and watching a familiar poof of hair suddenly appear in one of her windows, and then move on to another. She snorted. Oh, the timing today! It was funny. Hel finished off her quick breakfast, and then swept around the counter to the entry hall to slip on her boots. She then back tracked to the couch, where a very pretty and purr-tastic Scareon mama was waiting for some obligatory pets before she left.

The reaper then back tracked to the door, slung her bag onto her back, and then flung her door open. It revealed a tall and gangly Wendigo, looking like a deer caught in the headlights and a dark fist raised tentatively, as if she had finally mustered the courage to knock on the door this time. “MUT!” Hel cried, and then couldn’t help but grin regardless. “I told you I was leaving today!” The ghoul’s ears flattened against her head at the reminder, but Hel just patted her head and laughed. “Oooh, come on. Go get on the chicken! We will fly to Amity together, and once we reach there I will drop you off and continue on!” She ushered the now happier looking ghoul back down the front steps, but paused, and looked into the cottage, at the ghoul who was standing in the living room, looking rather surprised.

“The future is never set in stone.” Hel told the stunned looking ghoul, and smiled. “But this is a possibility.” She then closed the door behind her.

It was quiet in the cottage, and Hel stared at the door that an older version of herself had gone through. She then looked around. This could be…she seemed…busy…but most importantly she seemed…

Happy.

This could be, might be…her someday. Everything she wanted…she just had to wait and work for it. Hel took a long sweeping look around once more, at this lovely home that was hers, and who she shared it with. The reaper released a loud breath, and then moved through the living room, and through the entry hall until she reached the door. She glanced back over her shoulder. Maybe one day. Hel opened the door, and then stepped through.

The reaper found herself back in the circular room, but there was no knight to greet her, luckily.

She was ready now.

The ghoul strode across the room, up to where her diploma was, and she seized it. The reaper was silent for a long while as she just stared down at this piece of paper, and what it symbolized. Funny enough, Hel found herself feeling really emotional right now. So many feels in her chest, it swelled and her chest felt tight. Coming to Amity had been her chance to break away from her family and to prove that she could blow away any low expectations, and this piece of paper represented everything leading up to now and then…

Hel released a loud breath.

She had earned this herself, with her own two hands, strength, and will. How awesome was that? Pretty ******** awesome.
