- The yellow-haired Puppetteer hummed quietly to herself, a noise that could have been described as pleasant had it not been for her dark, high-pitched cackles that echoed through the night and disrupted the tune she hummed. She had been on her return trip home, if you could call it that. A damp and cold cave she retreated to night after night since the day she had first came into existence.
Nestled deep in the heart of the Dark Woods, Marion kept herself hidden from the outside world. Well, perhaps not the outside world, but the sickeningly sweet side of the world. Oh, how the Fae wept when they watched her claim the life of an innocent widdle bunny rabbit. But Marion needed that rabbit! She was in the process of creating something beautiful, magnificent!
Marion skittered through the entrance of her cave home and immediately relaxed. There was no time to relax as she tossed the carcasses of animals down onto the cold, moss-covered stone flooring and seated herself on an inviting fur hide that stretched across the cave floor. On all sides of the cave, the walls were covered in stone shelves that she herself had carved out of the rock.
Atop those shelves, sitting proudly yet sadly in the dim firelight, were hundreds of Puppets. Each Puppet was modeled to the point of perfection. They even held a sense of... realness about them, as if they were Fae trapped inside of puppets. Of course they were not, that was not an ability that simple little Marion possessed.. but all the materials to make the precious puppets were very real and modeled after real Fae that she had encountered during her lifetime.
Her current project was most precious to her, and it would take a lot longer to create than the others. She had to make the fur for this puppet from scratch, she could not bring herself to snatch fur from the creature itself. Her other puppets had been easy, she had no attachments to those that had inspired this creative side of her. They had no influence over her whatsoever.
However this puppet was much different. This puppet was special. This puppet would not be used to control, as she had used so many of her previous puppets. No... this puppet was being created out of Marion's obsession. She had set her gold eyes on a most wondrous creature named Laufeia and there was no denying her sudden obsession with the Heartsnatcher.
Marion's mind wandered elsewhere as she dutifully skinned the various animals for their fur, tossing those aside that she felt the color was not perfect in comparison to Lau's coloration. The Puppetteer pulled a pouch from her waist and gently tipped it, spilling the contents slowly and carefully onto the fur rug. She lifted each green gem and turned it over in her paws, examining them carefully for any flaws. These gems had to be flawless in order for her to successfully duplicate Lau in the form of a puppet. Marion's mind raced to wonder what Lau might be doing at this exact moment - perhaps delighting herself in a nice liver? - while her paws worked carefully and quickly at beginning the creation of the puppet.
