Zelda: Link Between Worlds

Let's talk about the new game! Namely, I posted this to ask for help when I get stuck. Very few, if any, guides for this game are useful to me right now. Still, it's open for discussion.

Where's the blacksmith's son? I looked for him in every woods and tree I could find to no avail. The forest got me nowhere. It's a fairy circle. Going forward takes you back.

Have you played A Link to the Past? Try heading where the man with the ocarina vanishes while on a log. You can also run around and look for a down arrow made of Grass between Link's House and Kakariko Village. Chop through it and go North to get there.

There's a forest clearing with a stump at the center near the blacksmith's house. Go there and click on the kid's bag. The mom will tell you it's his and give you it, letting you equip 2 tools for the X and Y buttons.
