Last Exile takes place in the future. After so much war and polution a majority of the population leaves earth to inhabit another artifitial(I think) planet. They were all taken away on giant ship called exiles, and after so long when the earth has healed itself they were to return on the exiles. However several generations have gone past and people forgot all about the original plan. The world is set up with two governments that are at war with one organization that's like at the top. Between the two governments is a giant are current said to hold a weapon that, if claimed, could end the war. Turns out the weapon in the air stream is an exile, and it could only be controlled by a woman of a certain bloodline. The organization finds the girl that could control it and take her so they could use it as a weapon. But the two people she was travelling with go to rescue her, and discover the true purpose behind the "weapon" and take the people back home.(bad summary but I hit most of the main points for an rp)

The second season takes place two years after the first. The people that returned on the exiles have claimed back the land from the people that were left behind. This made the other people mad, and their government(the federation) goes to war against the world basically. Two girls and a princess go around and end up in the center of the war and try to stop the leader of the federation. He kidnapped the princesses older sister who happens to be a controller of an exile, and the girls start off trying to get her back. But it turns out the sister is staying willingly and the girls have to stop everyone. The war goes on for a bit and eventually the leader of the Federation discovers the location of the "Grand Exile" and goes to use it. The girls end up catching up to stop him, but it turns out he had a noble goal, and to punish himself for the crimes he commited to reach said goal, he kills himself.(crappier summary, but again, gets enough of the main points for an rp)

Everyone essentially travel by giant airships, and the fighters drive little things called vanships. It's really cool, and while the cosmetic design is steampunk, the actual ships aren't. They're runn by a fuel called Claude or something like that and have some sort of strange anti-gravity engines. I'll see if I can pull up some pics of your interested.
