Tatzelwurm Rule #1: Always land tail-first.

This was a basic law that kept young tatzel scarlings alive before they could even crawl. The more a newly hatched scarling of her kin bounced landing head-first, well, the more likely they were to end up like Cousin Enis. They'd be a few kernels less of a barrel, as Levi understood it. So, when West purposefully made his wings go back to their place of origin, the ghoul hissed while they headed upside-down towards floor. AYE! What're ya-! It was obvious, really, what he'd meant to do, but it would still startle her to be in that unnatural position nonetheless.

When the wrath demon's feathery appendages reappeared, Levi tried to swerve on top, but her abilities proved rather useless while still airborne. The boil would have the upper hand until she reached the ground and, at this point, it would occur with quite the impact. Her left shoulder would hit the floor first, followed by the rest of her back quickly paralleling with the added weight of West until he rolled off to the side. The air was still at that moment and the shock of the fall (and hit) had left the ghoul motionless for a moment with only a gurgled cough arising out of her body.

She'd come back from it slowly, using her tail to help pick herself up out of the dirt, her left hand opening and closing to try and bring back the feeling and make sure it hadn't been dislocated. It felt like it was, but that could have possibly just been the pain beginning to take effect after the stun had worn off. Yer a crafty devil, you are. He'd effectively caused her both panic and pain; this was the boil she knew her Ma would love to meet. Levi smiled as best as she could outside the feeling of pins and needles still riddling her body.

Back into a crouch, she breathed hard, immediately looking for the boil. Her current stance was for defensive purposes, but Levi was looking to make a comeback. Her tail tensed as did her calves and, once West had been targeted along the battlefield, the tatzelwurm sprang back up into the air, aiming to catch him from above. If successful, perhaps she'd pin him on the spot, claws outreaching for his shoulders with all her weight behind them.

Okay. Maybe he didn't want to protect her all that badly when it came down to it. Maybe once he was in the thick of battle, once he had knocked the wind out of her and showed her who was the best fighter at Amity, no... in the world... once he had done all that, he would feel nothing more than the need to beat her, a feeling... that he so rarely felt while fighting anyone else. West sighed even as his smirk grew bolder. Normally, while he did experience a certain desire to fight well, as was only natural, he wasn't terribly put out by the thought of losing, barring extenuating circumstances. The fight itself was the fun part, but there was more to it this time. He was still treating her differently. He supposed he was just going to have to get used to it, considering the amount of time he planned on spending with her in the future.

His wings disappeared for good as he watched her rise to her feet and seek him out, catching his breath as he did so. She crouched, and West was sure that he could see the energy gathering in her legs and tail for a moment before she sprung, like the golden glow of the sun through autumn leaves. He only had a second to retaliate. Perhaps that's why his attempt went so horribly wrong.

He needed a big attack, something that was sure to stop her before she could land, but he hadn't really used his FEAR to do anything splashy in months. He wasn't nervous about using it... it was just... His smirk faded into an irritated line as she launched herself toward him in what seemed like slow motion. West's hands flared bright crimson, swirls of orange and pink in their light, and he aimed at the ghoul, laughing as he fired off his projectile punch... at least until it backfired. The blast threw him off of his feet and left him stunned, his inability to remember the milliseconds it took him to land on his a** proof beyond the sting that something had gone wrong. He looked up at Levi's progress, noting that she was still about to land on him, claws first, but unable to do anything about it.

It had Levi startled, at the very least. West's quick decision to flare up his fists was like shining lights into the ghoul's eyes even if it hadn't worked as planned. Instincts would take over in the short milliseconds of their movements and Levi attempted to keep precision in her aim as best as possible. All she could think of was getting him down for the count and part of that was already done for her now. Though his body moved in turn with the recoil of his own FEAR, hurling him to the floor, the tatzel's adjustments would still put her in the position she'd wanted. Claws dug into both of the wrath demon's shoulders, pushing him into the ground. Her full weight went into them until her bottom landed over his navel and distributed it more evenly over his midsection, keeping him from getting up. Pinned yew.

Levi's grin of pure amusement was followed by her tail's continuous swaying against West's legs, reminding him of where he was right now. She'd pinned him and he wasn't going anywhere without her say-so. It was always a pleasure to snatch him out of that boilish mode of his. Was a mighty pretty light ya'made there. Any chance ya'll could show it ta'me without yew endin' on yer keister? kekeke~ The tatzel removed her claws to cross her forearms over the boil's chest, her left above her right as it was still somewhat sore from his earlier throw-down. Seems like we dun switched places from tha'last time we were out'ere, hmm? Levi's voice wasn't quite a whisper, but the decline in her decimals would have been notable as she leaned in closely to stare into the boil. The last time they'd been here, he had finally gotten a pin on her. At this moment, Levi couldn't actually decide which was more fun: pinning West, or being pinned by him as she recalled that fight. Perhaps a bit more egging on would help her decide. So ya'give? I'll accept yer defeat if yer tired already. Though might be'a smidgin' disappointin'. I mean- I'thought yew'd gimme a good whoopin', boil. Where's my whoopin'? She pouted slightly and her tone matched with the expression, but it was all an obvious deception.

He knew she had incapacitated him long before she said so, but that didn't stop West from struggling against her restraint, nudging his knees into her back and grumbling in irritation before finally ceasing his futile wiggling.

"Only 'cause I let ya," he quipped, glancing down at her daintily blood-stained claws and briefly licking his lips. What he said was true in a way. If he hadn't seen fit to show off like he had, he might not have presented quite such an easy target and he definitely wouldn't be flat on his back right now. Although... "'S'not like this is such a bad place to be," he said, deliberately ignoring her comment about his FEAR failure. He might have gotten too cocky, but as the seconds passed, West had to admit he was loving his position more and more. He hardly needed a reminder of the last time they'd fought here because of it, though it was nice to know she was thinking of that fateful spar too.

"An' I was givin' you a whoopin'," he countered as she leaned in. "Y'don't remember me slammin' you into the ground a few minutes ago?" He lowered his voice, his tone slightly mocking now. "Musta hit yer head." West didn't say anything then, he just stared up into her eyes as his smirk grew. He dragged his fingers through the dirt beneath them, then reached up and tapped them against her knee.

"I'm not tired at all, but maybe you'd rather be doin' something other than fightin'?" He wasn't about to admit defeat, but he also wouldn't object to an intermission, no matter who was watching. West lifted his head off of the ground, aiming to give the ghoul a teasing kiss.

Whoo~ boil, that mouth'a yers sometimes. Getcha in a heck'alot a'trouble! Levi still took to the peck, meeting the boil halfway with a smile. Who'd be crazy 'nuff ta'take it day in'n day out? It was a crack at the idea that they'd be mated one day and she'd be that crazy critter. To live in the same home, unlike their current situation, and see each other all the time- how it worked outside the tatzel town was beyond her, but the general mechanics of a mated pair living with one another seemed Halloween-wide enough for many creatures.

Further thoughts were cut short, Levi decidedly favoring to focus on a rebuttal to West's cheeky remark and knee-tapping. He seemed to want an answer of the frisky kind. The tatzel's white tail aided in shifting her body back so that she could lay flat on West as if he were her living mattress, her hands folding under her chin while one index finger tapped against it. At first she looked up coyly to the sky, but stared back at the boil with a grin when she began to speak. Hmm~ that would make fer a right fine prize, I reckon. But that'd be fer one outta two. Yer still gonna owe me fer winnin' tha'race here, Mr.Textin'Pants. Levi sat up, readying to let West up with her palms over his stomach. A big one. Maybe a few double Floresce Fillet burgers.

But fer now I'suppose you'll do just fine. Smugly rising as if her shoulder and general body didn't ache like she'd been hit with a battering ram, Levi offered her right hand to the boil once she was back on her own feet. Well, feet plus one tail to act as support for both their weights.

"Dunno who would put up with it all," he murmured as she changed positions. There had been plenty of times in recent memory when he had been overwhelmed by thoughts of their future or the fear that she would still manage to find fault enough with him to leave entirely. It seemed those worries had fled for the moment, along with his immediate urge to continue their fight. He knew he should have been more upset by the absence of those feelings, but even that concern disappeared when she smiled down at him.

"Sure, I'll getcha whatever y'want. Infuritatin' hag." He tried to keep his expression irritated, or at the very least neutral, but halfway through his taunt he was snickering openly, giddiness enhanced by the ache of his injuries as she helped him to his feet. Not even the fact that the one that stung the most was the one he'd inflicted on himself could dim his good mood.

"Or I can do whatever too." In direct contradiction to his assurances that he was fit to do anything she wished, he curled an arm around Levi's waist and leaned against her, though it was unclear whether he actually needed the support or was just doing it to get closer to the ghoul.

West kissed her hair, looking back toward the school between her ears. "Race ya," he said with a smirk. "Kiddin'."

The ghoul leaned into him as they walked and mildly shook her head with smile still planted on her face, considering his offer and cackling to his boilish jokes.

Yew gotta dirty mouth, boil. I like that.
