Thoughts on Adult Entertainment

I normally wouldn't bring this up, but thoughts are going through my mind and I need to let them out.

A friend of mine wants to get into the A.E business and is currently awaiting responses from the "Major" sites. When I heard this, I was like, "Really?" I honestly do not understand why people find it exciting or fun to be in those kinds of situations. Sure, maybe some people are struggling to make ends meet, or pay off a debt or something. But more often then not people find it exciting like my friend does.

I truly don't get why it is exciting though, I would find it incredibly weird and awkward. Meeting some random dude you've never met before and go at it in front of a camera crew, then have it posted for thousands or millions depending on the site to watch. That's just...scary.

I also have some guy friends that do photo shoots, sometimes in the buff for people to see which also seems weird. Its better though I guess then the above situation.

I dunno, I am just lost. I will support my friend in whatever he wants to do so long as it is legal and safe, but I would like to know what your thoughts are on the topic.

It's not something I'd ever consider myself, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea for others. Some people honestly enjoy it. My primary concern would be whether or not someone understands that their...performance...may end up being shared with family, friends, employers, or co-workers.

So update. My friend got a callback from a site he wanted to work with, and he got nervous. So I decided to man up and go with him. Kinda nice it was only a two hour flight from NorCal to Socal ha. as long as there is consent with all parties involved and its legal and safe i dont see any issue with sex work. its probably not something i would ever do, but then again there are quite a few normal boring jobs i would never do

I'm personally more a Voyeur than Exhibitionist. I've been to private adult bdsm type parties where everyone was very nice, communicative and enthusiastic. It's pretty fascinating to be in a room full of people who are mostly naked and going at it, however they do their thing and with whomever. It wasn't really awkward aside from me feeling like I should do something and not wanting to. I was really quite content to enjoy the show and be someone else's audience.
