LOL shutterBUG
A ******** QUARTER of my paycheck is taken out each week.
5% of that goes into my 401K. Perfect. I planned that.
BUT 20 ******** PERCENT GOES AWAY AND I NEVER SEE IT AGAIN.
I made 12K last year.
I saw just under 9K of that.
I usually get less than $200 back in my tax refund.
My stepdad says it's because I'm still a dependent.
My paycheck this week should have been $401.
I checked my stub this morning.
I had a deposit for $299.
I know how things work.
I know there's things that come out of my paycheck.
I know.
But that $100 is the difference between groceries or another week of ramen.
Because I owe so much to other people/companies that my paychecks are spent before I earn them.
I CANNOT work more hours because Publix has a strict 35-hour limit for part time ******** this.
I'm not looking for responses.
I'm just pissed and need to write it out.
I know how you feel. My paycheque is 33% taxes. I'll make ~$320 a week, and only see $200, making my monthly income ~$800. No 401k. I have $5 worth of insurance paid out each week, and I haven't been a dependent in over 6 years. Federal rape, man.
The rest of my money goes to car insurance, gas, electricity, and small essentials like shampoo and deodorant. The only reason I'm able to eat most of the time is because my brother is my room mate, and he makes up the difference that I lose in my income.
Look into Food Stamp programmes. I get about $120 each month in free food money because I take home less than the national average, and it's been helping tremendously, even though $120 is like... 3 boxes of ramen, two cups of sugar, and a bran muffin.
