Why did they have to go and make the last stage in Cave Story so god damn hard?

Spikes are all over the place and the booster you have to extend your jumps is a real pain to maneuver when trying to get through low areas and narrow passages. At this rate I might actually skip beating the game if it's going to ramp up the difficulty of the last level with virtually no buildup.

I restarted on easy mode, and hopefully that alleviates my problem somewhat. If I end up in the same spot on easy, I'll do classic mode to really lessen the blow talk2hand

If I can't beat it by next Friday though I'll drop it to play Bravely Default to completion before picking it back up.

I know this thread is a few weeks old. I forget to look at subforums.

But I feel like I should add, I gave up on Cave Story+ at the final boss because it was really difficult and I wasn't invested enough in the game to care about finishing it.

I really do want to beat it, but the perspective of the updated graphics kills me a little.

I'm waiting until I finish a few other games, then in March I'll be able to play Cave Story along with OFF and beat both.
