Ripley listened to her rage in silence, amber eyes scouting over her expression - and occasionally her stance - in an attempt to figure her out. Picking apart what he saw, mirroring it to what he knew, and drawing conclusions from the pieces he formed; everything he did to everyone he had ever met, in an attempt to understand. It was helpful, in a way, to have such an open student - anger was a great motivator, and it allowed him to see something that he likely wouldn't have otherwise been privy to.
The ghoul swung to hit his face, and Ripley only barely managed to bring up his arm. Unfortunately, it was his recently mended arm, and the force of the blow shattered the still weak bones so quickly his shield didn't have a chance to strengthen in time. In his head, Wilhelm grunted the strained grunt he recognized as being near the end of his rope - which was more of a confirmation of what he felt, as the pain began to seep in. He swung at her again, though weakly, in an attempt to keep her at bay.
"It seems you and I are doing the exact same thing, for the exact same reasons." A third party killed, they blamed the second party as a whole, and walked the fine line between seeking revenge and fighting for whatever scraps of life they had left. "Nobody is innocent."HP: 7 Damage: 2

"Innocence stands in Justice's way." Gene retorted, shoving the sword blow aside with the flat of her palm. She was feeling worn down as well, but still had strength to continue. "The question is, then, who is following Justice, and who seeks Revenge?"
A kick to the man's stomach with a sneer, silver eyes alight with passion. "Only time will tell. Until then, I fight."

Her foot hit his stomach a little too high, cracking his bottom two ribs. The trainee hit the ground hard and lay there for a moment, curling in pain. Soon though, he struggled to sit up, one hand clutching his side as if trying to hold himself together.
"Semantics." Ripley replied belatedly, his voice breathless between wet coughs. "Everyone is in the right." He did not get up, conceding his defeat by staying down, and hoping she would accept his defeat if he made no move. One trembling, bloody gloved hand grasped his pendant though, just in case she chose to lash out again.HP: 1/40

Sneering, Gene put a foot on Riley's head, keeping an even pressure there. She didn't press down, nor did she let up. She simply existed for a while atop his skull, staring down at him with incensed eyes and heavy, inflamed breathing. "I should deliver Justice to you now." She breathed, heel digging in slightly to his cheek. "But that would be a little too easy. Run back to your White Coats, tell them that we've had enough - we're sick of you. If you continue to involve us in your ongoing battle with the Horsemen, we will riot. We're not to be cowed into a corner."

"I'm nobody's messenger." Ripley hissed out through the pain and the pressure on his head, and activated his pendent.
He vanished right from under her foot, leaving only a puddle of blood behind.
