[ 1v1 ] Do Not Want (Xavier/Brenley)

"No, wait - " He squeaked but it was too late.

Xavier was expecting something - though what, exactly he wasn't sure, and it sure as heck wasn't what Brenley gave him. One second they'd been having a (mostly) civil conversation along with their little spar, the next second the sand had blasted around him, cocooning him in a bubble of sand.

When it cleared, Xavier would be flopped down on the ground, totally out of it.

As the sand cleared, Brenley was left standing nearby, his face a mask of guiltily intrigued shock that he couldn't seem to shed. He had only been trying to show the boil how easy it was to use excess FEAR for his own benefit, but now... Well, he doubted very sincerely that the demon had learned much of anything besides how not to trust.

"Sorry," he said, his tone not quite sincere even though he was actually more than a little remorseful. "I shouldn't have done that." Bren fidgeted for a moment, then stepped forward to check on his opponent. "Are you all right?"

A long pause, and then, sounding muffled:

"I don't think so."

The single katar he had called disappeared as he cautiously approached the demon.

"Can I help you up now?"
