Somewhere in the midst of the Haunted House, deep within the splintered, cobwebbed walls, in one of the rooms with broken floorboards and cracked windows, there sat a water demon, perched cross-legged on the floor and as still as a statue. His long dark hair was pooled around him, and he seemed quite at ease, given the situation and where he was.

After a moment, Llyr opened his eyes, his hands folded into his lap. He peered curiously around the room, as though expecting someone or something, but when he saw nothing, he merely frowned slightly and got to his feet, swaying a little. Maybe Solia wouldn't come back today; he'd visited the House enough to have thought to run into her again, but so far nothing.

Llyr wandered absently from the room and into the next one, mostly out of a despondency than an actual lack of direction.

It was Shiloh’s first time setting foot in the misty place, the setting like something out of one of those horror-type videogames that everyone seemed to be playing. His visit was more to satisfy curiosity than anything else, a sort of morbid need to know more about the place that had almost taken Ian from him. He didn’t wanted to bother Ian with questions, not on such a sensitive topic… He couldn’t dream of bombarding him about the where and when and trivial details when a faint breath made him flinch, made him think of what happened.

Of course, as kind-hearted as Shiloh tried to be, being patient wasn’t one of his strong suits. Thus he’d taken the matter into his own hands, and he promised himself that he’d tell Ian but later, after he could prove he’d returned home safe.

It wasn’t like he was going to engage anyone or anything, anyway, he thought as he wandered the twisting halls, haunting and dim. He was just here to observe, just to look, and just to – having backed himself into a room, Shiloh suddenly found himself colliding with something solid and he nearly tripped over his own feet in his hastiness to turn around.

He wasn’t sure what it was, but it definitely wasn’t furniture. Maybe if he just backed out quietly, the way he came, it wouldn’t notice…

He heard footsteps before he saw anything; Llyr turned slowly, blinking in the shadowy darkness of the room he was currently in, which was draped in cobwebs and covered in several layers of dust. His turn was just in time to find something had smacked into him, and he stumbled a little where he stood, his back tensing.

"Who are you?"

Llyr's voice, quiet and yet serious, rang throughout the room. He stared at the figure with the bright hair, and a few drops of water dripped from the tips of Llyr's fingers. He made no move to attack just yet, but merely stood and silently surveyed the person in the white coat.

Human, said a thought.

Hunter, said another.

Shiloh’s plan to back out quietly hastened considerably when the creature turned around, and he summoned Haruko as he stumbled backwards. And stumble he did, his eyes on whatever it was in front of him instead of the floor and it was only at the last second that he managed to catch himself and keep from falling.

Speaking of it, it looked almost human itself, minus the fact that it seemed to be leaking and that strange tendrils protruded from its backside. There was a sort of handsomeness to it, and Shiloh didn’t feel the terror that he should have, looking at it, at least not totally. He was scared yes, because he had no idea what it was thinking, or what it planned to do. Anything that came from Halloween he was sure had the power to get really scary really fast and he definitely didn’t want to provoke it further, he just wanted to observe!

So he stared, awkwardly, for quite some time, before remembering it had asked a question.

“I’m uh, Shiloh, I’m a human. Who are you?”

A strange human, Llyr thought, with brightly colored hair and a pale face that wasn't quite like the other human that Llyr had met; or at least, not like the last one he had met, with the snarling, smirking face that had reeked of pride and satisfaction as he'd driven his weapon into Llyr's torso with relish.

He thought sadly of Solia and her pretty selfies and wished that the humans were not so very frustrating.

Llyr's dark eyes moved from the tip of the hunter's toes to the top of his head, and then back down again, resting on his face. He tilted his own head sideways slightly, hair cascading over his shoulder like a waterfall, and then lifted his hand, pointing his water tipped fingers almost experimentally towards the human.

"I am a demon," he said.

Shiloh mimicked the creature, cocking his head to one side as he stared, studying him.

“A demon?” he asked, a bit disbelieving. It didn’t look like a demon, was what Shiloh thought. There was a distinct lack of pair of horns or a forked tail or anything that suggested a demonic presence as far as Shiloh knew them to be. In fact, for a demon, it looked awfully like an overgrown kid in clothes that sagged around it. It outstretched its hand towards Shiloh and water dripped from its fingers again, splashing quietly against the rotted wooden floorboards beneath their feet.

“Aren’t demons usually more… Fire and brimstone type deals?”

He still held Haruko protectively up in front of him, but he couldn’t resist getting at least one question in, even if curiosity was just as prone to killing ducks.

Llyr was mainly dressed in clothes too big for him since he had yet to actually figure out both the purpose for clothing and learn how to wear things that complemented him instead of making him look like a kid dressing in his parents clothing (not that he even had parents, really). He was barefoot, of course, because shoes were overrated and he disliked how they felt on his feet. His long hair, which was nearly down to the ground in its length, was loose and free about his shoulders and tumbled down his partially bare back. A few flowers were threaded throughout the dark blue strands, along with some colorful feathers that looked the tiniest bit out of place for someone who did not actually have feathers. A wreath was on his head, wrapped neatly around his forehead, a few twigs and some more pale, white flowers tucked against the branches. There were ribbons wound around the wreathe and the flowers as though to keep them in place.

He blinked slowly at the human, head still tilted as he contemplated this very strange question. He wasn't quite certain how to answer it, his thoughts quietly stirring, but then he lifted his chin and took a breath, the chains cris-crossed over his chest giving gentle clinks as they shifted and pulled with each and every movement.

"I do not like fire," said Llyr, after a moment. His voice was slow, deep and even, and he absently brushed a few stray strands of hair off of one shoulder. He knocked the arm of his shirt down, and tugged it back up without looking like he knew what he was doing. He seemed a little out of sorts, vague and dreamy eyed, but there was still a small amount of intelligence within his gaze, in spite of this. "Water is much more preferable. I do so love water."

He turned to look at the hunter again.

"I don't think I like humans, though."

The impression Shiloh got was that the creature was a child, or at the very least child-like and he assumed it was male, only because it felt weird to keep referring to it like an animal when it had such human features. He said he didn’t like humans but the more Shiloh studied him, the more alike they seemed.

He held off on initiating any sort of attack, even with the demon’s proclamation. To observe had been the goal of his visit and he preferred to keep it that way. It would be easier too, to explain the whole situation if he came back unscathed. If he came back hurt… He’d just have to not let that happen.

“A lot of you don't like humans, it seems… One of you hurt a friend of mine very badly and not sure if I like you either but I’m not here looking for a fight.”

He met the demon’s glance, staring back with wary curiosity.

“So you’re a water demon then? What do you call yourself?”

He wasn't being attacked, which was strange. Llyr silently watched the human for any signs of anger or coldness, the same coldness as the other, but all he got was a quiet, slightly contemplative look in return, the human's pale hair looking a stark contrast in the dark of the House.

"Humans are strange creatures," he said absently, and fiddled with a few strands of his hair. "Strange, strange creatures...you are built around chaos and sadness and some of you are just plain mean, I suppose..."

He trailed off a little, clearly lost in thought, and missing the human's question entirely - or maybe he was just ignoring it, a despondent look on Llyr's face.
