This was getting incredibly frustrating. Maybe she hadn't learned anything from her spars after all.

Her hits were becoming consistently weaker and weaker.

Determined to not dissipate to this thing, especially when she was about to get an exam certificate (hopefully before she dissipated) she managed to actually make a more definite hit. It was starting to blink in and out now. There couldn't be that much left to go...

Even if it was still mocking her with the way it flitted around the room.

Ow, ow, ow.

This was really starting to hurt. She was leaking FEAR from multiple places and she couldn't get it to stop. What kind of torture was this?!

It hurt. Everything hurt. Her vision was getting a bit blurry, or maybe that was the shadow. She couldn't tell.

Serafina was a terrible, terrible fighter.

Serafina was nearly falling over herself at this point. Aiming was a thing of the past. Jack, even landing a hit seemed to be a thing of the past.

Finally, she managed to figure out where the shadow was and got another hit on it, watching as the corrosive, cackling shadow of Serafina finally dissipated and left Serafina to herself.

Limping, Serafina made her way outside of the room, faced back with the Professor who had originally accepted her into the course. She didn't even care how awful she looked now. She was just glad to be out of that jackdamned maze. Whose idea was that thing? Was it really the potion master's idea? Had he drugged her or something to get her in here?

-- Oh, whatever --

She had an exam passing certification now,

She was a Hobgoblin.

And she wanted desperately to go back to bed.

And so, after a half-hearted, tired thanks, she trudged on back to her dorm room, where she promptly fell face first and stayed asleep for the rest of the morning... and even some of the afternoon.
