Where In The World Is Snagem?

Now that you're a member of Team Snagem you need to get to HQ. A backpack of goods was left behind by a Claydol that randomly appeared before you and left as quick as it appeared. Why didn't it just take you with it? Nevermind.

Inside the backpack you find various items including a communication device, a SNAG. The SNAG shows you a map of Kalos, indicating that Snagem's HQ is in Johto, more specifically Mt. Silver. The strange thing though is the map also says that location is inside the mountain. Any who, you're told to find your way there as your final initiation.

    Objective:
---Get to Snagem HQ from wherever you are in the world.

    Opposition:
---Be careful going through Mt. Silver, the wild Pokemon are fierce.

    Pokemon:
---You will be rewarded with a Pokemon Egg containing any Pokemon you wish (non-legend and lowest stage of its line). You may have the egg hatch whenever you feel like. It's already been pre-warmed.

    Rewards:
---2x Snag Coins and varies from there.

Carter had never seen a Claydol before. At first, he thought it was some strange alien coming to abduct him and probe him for answers to questions it never asked, but his fears were discarded when it dropped off the stuffed messenger bag, decorated in the Snagem logo. At once Carter fell to his knees and started digging through it, pulling everything out and sorting through it. Satisfied, he carely repacked the whole thing to his liking and slung it over his shoulder, absentmindedly rubbing the front of the Pokéball that contained his new Abra. Once he had captured it, both the Absol and the Cipher Grunt had run off, one of them crying. I trust you can figure out which.

Carter released the Pokémon, smiling when he heard its cry. Carter could be inconsiderate at times and have no care for other beings, but if there was one thing he was going to treat right, it was his Pokémon.

"Hey little fella." He grinned, patting the Abra on the head, who shooed away his hand. "Okay, okay." Carter gave in, holding his hands up in surrender. "I get it, you don't like being touched." He pushed himself up, rubbing the gold Pokémon the head anyways as he walked past, laughing. He had a feeling that he and this creature were going to become very fast friends, if the thing didn't get tired of him and runaway first. He glanced behind him, thrilled to see that it trailed after him, despite looking a bit annoyed. He laughed. Once it caught up to him he started talking, grateful to have someone to share his thoughts with. "So, every Pokémon needs a name? How about... Voodoo? No? How about Hoodoo? Okay, that one's bad. Oh! I know! Mojo?" That sounded okay, and the Abra seemed not to mind (unlike the first two, he had made jerking moments expressing his disgust), so Mojo it was. Carter was quite pleased at the idea that he had come up with such a clever name. You know, mojo? A psychic Pokémon? Powers? Yeah?

He pulled out the map graciously bestowed to him, biting his lip. Mojo strained to see what exactly he was looking at, so Carter angled it towards him. He traced the path from the Route he was on to Mt. Silver, where the Snagem HQ was said to be. Carter had never ventured from his small world once in his life, and didn't know what lay ahead. But he was certain, with his perservance and the help of his new partner, that they could face anything.

The first part of the journey was easy going. They'd encountered few wild Pokémon (none of which Carter specifically wanted to catch), but with the overuse of Mojo's only attack move they managed to get by. Usually, Abra's only known move is Teleport, so Carter guessed that one of the Cipher members taught it Psyshock before they handed it off to a Grunt. Personally, Carter thought this particular Abra was too good for any snot-nosed Cipher. He didn't even know where this sudden hatred of Ciphers came from, but it was now there.

Lost in his thoughts, Carter didn't realize when they came to the mountain. How did they even come there so quick? Did Mojo use Teleport while he was off in his brain world? Carter thought that he could only teleport to known places. Had he been to Mt. Silver once in his lifetime? He stared at his Pokémon, who just looked ahead at the gaping mouth of the cave. Carter shrugged, smiling faintly as he waltzed into the dark.

Now, Carter had never been into a cave, so he wasn't prepared for the onslaught of Zubat. And, of course, without realizing there were a billion more of the same type that would show up on his journey, he wasted his gifted Pokéballs on it.

The purple bat flew into his face, flapping it's wings frantically as it tryed to figure out what the large lump it just ran into was, and if it was alive and worth fighting. Carter was a little startled, then turned to Mojo like he knew what to do. On the way there they had had a few battles, and they had worked up a steady groove. Mojo only had one relevant move, so they just pummeled the opposition to death. It wasn't a solid plan, but it was the only one they had until Carter could spend some time training his new Pokémon and hopefully level it up. Right now, he needed another Pokémon who could be the brute force behind his team. Plus, he thought Zubat's evolved forms were pretty cool.

Mojo hit the confused Zubat with a ray of his Psyshock, confusing it even more if that were possible. It was now screaming, sending out pulses of echolocation that were starting to make Carter's ears ache. Great, it knew Supersonic. Now both Pokémon involved were confused. If he hadn't been in this current situation he would've laughed. Instead, he threw one of his Balls out in an effort to catch the thing. No such luck. Oh goody, one Pokéball wasted. He eternally screamed, throwing his last one out and hoping it caught it. When the thing stopped shaking, he grinned sorrowfully, mad that he had used up all the free Pokéballs he had. He sighed, releasing the frantic Zubat into the air.

"Calm down." He ordered, and it did immediately. "Okay, good, now we can carry on." He let the crazed Pokémon follow him, not having the heart to put it away. Both of his travel companions had the ability to lift themselves off the ground, so they didn't have the trouble of not keeping up or getting lost. Carter, now, was another story.

"Hey, Dracula," He called to his new Zubat. "You live here? Have you heard of the Snagem HQ?" He let out a loud squeak, which Carter had no idea how to translate. "One squeak for no, two for yes." Nodding at the new system (at least it looked like nodding, you never know when it's constantly moving), he let out two eardrum busting screams. "Do you know where it is?" Another two squeaks, and they set off.

Dracula leads the team down a twisting corridor, turning here and there as it sends out beats of echolocation, trying to remember the way. Then it does a full circle and speeds off down one hall, leaving Carter to run to catch up with it.

"Hey, slow down!" He calls, and the Pokémon comes back, not looking at all pleased. "Well, excuse me. I don't have the ability to fly." The Zubat frowns, but waits anyway. Until this moment, Carter had never thought to use the thing that he had tucked up under his armpit, bearing the weight of it the whole time. Looking out of the sea of rocky crags and random holes, he decided now would be a great time. Carter was pretty skilled at the art of balance, if he did say so himself. He had a skateboard back home, how could a hoverboard be that much different?

He threw the thing down to the ground, biting his lip when it started to float, patiently waiting for him to step onboard. Like a skateboard, right? He jumped onto it like he would with the thing that rolled on wheels, placed one foot in front of the other as he regained his balance. Now, how did you go? He applied a bit of pressure on his left foot (the one in front), and was nearly blown backwards as it raced forwards. Immediately, he let off, and it stopped. Okay, he was getting the hang of this. He started again, this time smoother, and called for his companions to lead the way.

"Woohoo!" He called, enjoyed the rush of the previously stagnant cavern air through his hair. Ahead, Dracula chattered back, making a sharp turn. "Oh s**t." Carter cried as he tried to turn, barreling ahead and knocking into the cool mountain wall with a muted thump. He pushed himself off the face and tried to balance, yelling as it started to move. Okay, okay, that was totally not a wall.

"Hey, um, guys?" He screamed for his Pokémon, hoping they got to him in time, before he was totally flattened. It seemed the Onix stared at him for a beat too long, looking angry. Carter held up his hands and tried to back away, but he hadn't figured out how to back up yet. So, when he applied pressure to his back foot, he sped backwards. Alarmed, the ground / rock Pokémon reared up, about to bring it's oversized body down on top of him. At the same time, his two teammates showed up and started to bombard it with their Psychic attacks, in an effort to confuse it enough to let them alone. In retaliation, the Onix slammed it's body against the side of the cavern. At first, Carter thought it was confused, but that proved not to be the case as the whole mountain started shaking.

As rocks started falling from the ceiling, Carter yelled for his Pokémon to come on, all of them speeding away and trying to dodge the debri.

Tampered Potions

A sweet and innocent appearing Old Lady is selling newbie trainers "Herbal Potions" at an extremely cheap price compared to regular Potions. However trainers are noticing as they use the Potions on their Pokemon they become sicker in time. It turns out the Potions are actually laced with a diluted poison that builds up in the Pokemon's body the more its used. Unfortunately the "sweet old lady" has a powerful reputation and if you out right attack her or call her out you'll be turned out by the locals.

You're going to need to reveal to everyone that the lady is a fraud and is harming Pokemon. Do whatever it takes to reveal her deceit and send her over to the police.

    Objective:
---Reveal the Old Lady's poisoned Potions scheme.

    Opposition:
---The Old Lady, she has an Oddish and Bellsprout.
---If locals get offended that you're bothering the sweet old lady they may attack.

    Pokemon:
    ---You may snag one Pokemon.

    Rewards:

Carter was sitting in the common room of the Snagem HQ, tapping away on his SNAG. While he was bedridden he had had nothing else to do than fumble with the thing and try to learn how to use it, he had even figured out how to hack into it and place a few harmless games on there, nothing more than that. It even had a map, though he preferred to use the one granted to him by his good friend Morty, a going away gift. No one at his hometown had really understood the nature of his quest, since he told them very little about it, but they supported him and were just happy he was getting over it, whatever it was.

His recovery was coming along nicely, thought he was still a little wobbly on his left leg. He had taken the guaze off once to rewrap it, and it looked pretty nasty under there, so he let the nurse wrap it for him. Speaking of that, he was due for another change here in a few. He glanced at the clock on the gear, about to power it down and hobble off to the infirmary when a bright flashing from the screen caught his attention.

Rookie! Care to complete a mission? Carter blinked, staring at the electronic and then to his injured leg, shrugging and clicking the 'Yes' button. Another set of words flashed across. Great! Click 'Confirm' to confirm your choice. He did so, and the mission he had signed up for came into view, allowing him to get briefed on the subject. After he had read through everything twice, he pressed the 'Continue' button with his thumb, watching as the map came into focus and pointed out where he was going to travel. Looking around, he tried to judge whether or not he should report for that rewrapping or just ditch it, deciding on the latter choice. He pulled himself up, bearing his weight on the arm of the chair he was just sitting on, and tried to press equal weight on both legs, but that sent his head reeling so he gave up. He'd have to manage with full use of one leg, which would make walking hard and riding his hoverboard virtually impossible.

Slowly, he made his way towards the bedroom he shared with other Snagem members, sliding down the rows until he came to his living space. Grunting, he braced himself by one hand on the top of the bed, sliding his dumb leg out behind him as he tried to kneel to retrieve his things from their place under the bed. He pulled out his bag and three Pokéballs, leaving the hoverboard behind since he wouldn't be using it. Wheezing, he righted himself and limped out the way he came.

His departure was hardly noticed, since everyone mainly kept to themselves. Carter was eternally grateful for that way of mind, that way no one put their nose where it didn't belong and let everyone else be. The moment he stepped through the exit and emerged on the other side (a bit wet), he released his Pokémon. Out they came, Mojo and his Totodile quietly, but Dracula flying around and screaming like he was scared for his life. Okay, he really did not like being kept inside a Pokéball. After he got his Zubat quieted down, Carter consulted the mission statement on his SNAG once again, tapping the point of interest while he mumbled something to himself.

"Mojo, come here." The Abra slowly drifted over to him from where it was playing in the spray of water with Champ (whom was biting at it like it was something he could catch), looking over his shoulder at the machine in his hands. "Have you ever been to Violet City?" Shaking his head, Mojo confirmed that he hadn't, eliminating the choice of just teleporting there. So, Carter looked for the next best thing, which happened to be his hometown: Ecruteak. Mojo had been there, so he briefed him on the nature of their need for teleportation, and the Pokémon agreed to help. Well, he really didn't have a choice, but Carter gave him the benefit of the doubt. Gathering his Pokémon together, he gave Mojo the signal to use his move. He let out a cry, scaring the beejeezus out of Carter as the team was engulfed in a pinkish light, zapping them out of their current location and in front of Ecruteak City's Pokémon Center. At arrival, Carter stumbled out of the orb that had brought them there and toppled to the ground, feeling bile rising in his throat. Quickly he pushed himself up, puking all over the ground.

When he was done, he stood up, still fighting to bear weight on both of his legs. Failing once again, he settled for leaning on Mojo's head as he limped into the Pokémon Center. As soon as they stumbled inside, Carter let go and toppled over, sending the frantic Nurse Joy to look at him. He had fell onto his face, so she rolled him over to get a good look at him and gasped. Her Chansey wobbled over to see what was the matter, looking quite shocked also. She stared at the Zubat and Abra floating there like it was nothing while the Totodile was nudging him to wake up, the previous two had gotten used to their Trainer falling on his face in the past few days and were nonplussed about the whole situation. The pink Pokémon placed her nubby arms on where her hips would be and was just about to tell them off when her own Trainer called to her.

"Chansey!" The nurse cried. "Get a stretcher!" Chansey saluted her, marching off to find the metal object and wheel it back, picking Carter up and throwing him on top of it none too gently. He was unconscious, so he wouldn't feel it. Then everyone (including Dracula, Champ, and Mojo) ran off into an emergency room to be with Carter. Once they were all packed inside Nurse Joy set about figuring out what was wrong, inspecting her patient from top to bottom. When she got to his leg, she noticed the blood staining the guaze wrapped around his thigh. Blushing, she pulled his gym shorts up a bit to take a good look at it. "Scissors!" She screamed, and her Chansey brought them over. As she set about cutting off his wrapping, she addressed Mojo, whom she recognized from when the whole town saw Carter off. "Abra! You know who Morty is, correct? Go get him!" Without another word, Mojo sped off to find the Gym Leader, and Carter's closest "relative".

Dracula "watched" from the corner while the strange woman dressed his Trainer's wounds and Champ tried to wake him up, sending out a shockwave every few minutes to get a good mental image of what was going on. Sending out another, he noticed that someone else had entered the room, along with Mojo. Chattering, he went to meet them.

"What's this about?" The busy Gym Leader asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "I was just in the middle of kicking this Trainer's butt when this Abra here interrupted us and caused me to lose!" He glared at Mojo, who just stood there like he wasn't the one Morty was talking about. By now, Nurse Joy was finished snipping at his gauze and cleaning the blood up, and was now redressing it. Silence passed while she did so, until she finished and finally turned to greet Morty, stepping away from her patient's body to let him get a good look at it.

          "Carter?" Morty cried. "What happened?"

"We'll see once he wakes up." Nurse Joy mumbled, as Carter's eyes were starting to flutter open, like the scene just after the Prince kisses Sleeping Beauty, though Carter was far from beautiful and no one had kissed him. Immediately he jumped up, slamming his head against the wall.

"Ow, s**t." He hissed, rubbing the back of his head as he took in his surroundings. Noticing his Pokémon, he held his arms out to them, to which they responded by speeding over and crashlanding into him, knocking the breath from his lungs. "Good to see you guys too." He mumbled, amused. "I sure do pass out a lot, don't I?" His eyes roved around the room further, noticing the two people and Chansey, whom waved. "Morty? Nurse Joy?" He blinked, his Pokémon sitting on his lap.

"What happened?" Morty questioned, arms still crossed. Now, instead of alarmed, he took on the role of an angry yet worried father. Carter even felt a bit sheepish with him glaring down at him like that.

"Oh, just a little run in with an Onix, nothing much."

"Don't look like 'nothing much'." Joy bust in, holding out her hands to help Carter get down from the bed. "Can you walk?"

"Yeah." Carter replyed, like a liar. Pushing her hands away, he shuffled towards the edge of the bed and jumped down, leaving his Pokémon to squawk and tumble to the ground, grunting hard as he landed with his weight on his awkward leg, stumbling.

"No you can't!" Morty accused, like Carter didn't know. Carter rolled his eyes, staring through lidded eyes at his good friend.

          "Nah dip."

"Let me get you a wheelchair." Nurse Joy stated, and scattered down the hall to retrieve one for him before he could argue, leaving the two boys alone.

"I knew you shouldn't have gone off on that journey alone. What were you aiming for anyways?"

"But I wasn't alone, I have my Pokémon with me."

          "Answer my other question."

          "What question?"

          "Don't play dumb with me."

Saving Carter from having to reveal his reasons, Nurse Joy used that exact moment to come in with the wheelchair, forcing him into it. Carter was never so grateful for the nurse in his entire life, grinning as she wheeled him out of the room and to the front desk.

"Now you're all good. I'll just heal your Pokémon real quick..." Carter returned Mojo, Champ, and Dracula to their balls and handed them over, moving his wheels back and forth. He could actually use this thing, until they came to a rocky area. The road to Violet City was smooth enough, so he'd have little difficulties. "Okay," She handed everything back to him. "And I'll just discharge you to Morty."

"What?" Morty, who had come up behind them as Joy healed Carter's Pokémon, smirked knowingly and winked, grabbed ahold of the wheelchair and wheeling his friend away.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy!" He called before heading out the door, leaving her chuckling. Once the pair were outside, Morty jerked the wheelchair to a stop so that Carter had to talk to him. "Why'd you go off on an adventure?" He questioned while Carter twiddled him thumbs and tried to ignore the question. "Nice try," Morty started back up, pushing them towards the Gym. "You'll have to answer me sometime." Rolling his eyes, Carter crossed his arms and set his mind on not telling anyone anything.

Once they arrived, Morty sighed, clapping twice. "Lights on." He loved the dark and everything that went with it, don't get him wrong, but it made it a bit diffucult to navigate a cripple through. Once the lights snapped on he took up rolling Carter again, whom was glancing around as if he couldn't believe he was back at his old haunt.

          "Feels good being back home."

"Yeah? Why'd you leave it in the first place?" Morty replied, frowning. He jerked the wheelchair to a stop, staring into Carter's eyes while he waited for an answer. "Tell me."

Carter twiddled his thumbs and fidgeted, once trying to push himself up before Morty stopped him, causing him to fall back into his seat. Great, he was stuck. He cursed his leg under his breath, and not for the last time. A few minutes were spent in awkward silence until Carter sighed, breaking the silence.

"I just wanted to have an adventure, okay? I love this place, really, but there's too many memories." That was the truth, really, but not all of the details. Morty stared him down for a few more minutes until he decided he was being truthful, sadly smiling.

"I get it. I can't keep you here forever, but at least stay until your leg's healed up." Nodding, Carter accepted the terms and let Morty move him into one of the back rooms. As soon as the door was shut, and he heard the two claps signaling 'Lights Off', then the shutting of a door that told him the Gym leader was off to bed, he wheeled himself around.

Poking his head out into the hallway, he looked around tentatively before retreating and snatching up a water bottle for the travel back, fishing his Pokémon out of his bag and discarding his map in the process, he wouldn't need it anymore. He could just use his SNAG from now on.

He crept his wheelchair into the hallway, clutching his stuff to his lap as he wheeled himself out the back door. Once he was completely through, he took a deep breath in, looking about his hometown at night. A lot of history here, horrible yet still history, and while he was glad to be away he'd miss it.

Letting gravity take hold, Carter cruised through the town towards Route 37. He could get used to this, being able to move and go places while sitting down. It sure was taxing on his arms, though.

Once he rolled through the gates, he stopped for a moment and looked back, then over the rest of the route to Violet City. Taking another deep breath, he released his Pokémon and set off.

The first part of the journey was smooth sailing, since the wheelchair handled like a dream and Carter was getting the hang of it (he had struggling with turning for the past fifteen minutes or so). He was in no rush to get to his destination, so he dawdled by looking at the night sky and inspecting his surroundings, feeling a calm wash over him. Night was his favorite time. It would've been peaceful, if not for the loud baby called Champ sitting in his lap and opening his mouth wide open at everything he saw.

"Shut up, you little alien." Carter poked him in the snout, eliciting a whimper that was swiftly ignored as he rolled on his merry little way. Every once and a while they'd roll over a rock or a ledge, and he'd almost be thrown out his seat, but he'd manage to get control of his vessel just in time to avoid disaster.

At long last they reached Violet City

To-Do
Rock-a-bye Trainer

A beautiful young woman with a trio of singing Pokemon has been robbing trainers just after they get through Viridian Forest, their Pokemon too weak from the experience to fight back. She greets the trainers as they reach the halfway point of the forest and promises to heal their Pokemon with her own but instead she lulls them all to sleep, trainer included, and steal all their valuables. The trainers then wake up hours later back at the beginning of Viridian Forest, penniless and their Pokemon too weak to make it back through. Go to Viridian Forest and pretend to be a passing trainer. When she offers to heal your Pokemon attack her and make her pay for her thieving ways! I would say return the cash you find on her when you beat her but I say bring it back with you. To the winner go the spoils after all. Either way make sure she stops this criminal mischief.

    Objective:
---Defeat the Beauty and kick her out of Viridian Forest.
