Astronomy ~A
If only he cared just a little about the stars, their origins, the moons, and what the moon effects Thane might have gotten a better grade. But as it were, he doesn't, he didn't, and now he's paying the consequences. Which is to never take Astronomy, he's not exactly seeing the downside to this
Alchemy ~EE
Unsurprisingly, the one class besides potions where he gets to cause the most spectacular events if he messes up he'd actually study and do great in. Partially because he really enjoys the class, mainly because he really didn't want to see Amorocho's face if he blew up his classroom
Ancient Runes ~A
He'd say otherwise but if he was completely honest, he just wasn't good with runes. If he studied them long enough, maybe he could get their gist or rather copy from the bubbly blonde Hufflepuff that sits beside him in class, but unfortunately he didn't have time nor the annoyingly chirpy puff
Charms ~EE
He may not always see the point of most of the spells (if he were completely honest, had he not known for certain that a certain tickling charm could incapacitate certain people he wouldn't even bother) but he was still rather good at performing them. And studying for it wasn't as tedious as he expected, most of it was just memorization anyway
Defense Against the Dark Arts ~EE
For this test Thane had to suck up his pride and ask his best friend for help, which of course the boy did because he wanted to see his boyfriend succeed in everything (disgusting really) but apparently it paid off. Had it not been for that stupid friggen boggart at the end he might have had a perfect score
Divination ~A
Ok, if he's going to be completely honest, the times he said he was studying for this exam, Thane was actually helping his boyfriend with his healing exam which really equates to him staring at his arse for an hour and a half. To be completely honest, he was amazed he even did this well!
Herbology ~A
Thane would like to point out that you can know buy potion ingredients and while, yes, you need herbologists to actually grow said ingredients he is not one of them. And that the examiners should be happy that all he did was say every curse word to his knowledge under the sun while that stupid disgusting thing leaked its pus all over him
History of Magic ~EE
Apparently Kalin wizened up to what his Thane had been doing and actually made him study, by himself!, for this OWL. It wasn't too bad, for every successful hour he got a cookie and the promise that if he made above an A he could have any dessert he could imagine. He really really really wanted his death by chocolate cheesecake.
Potions ~O
Thane not only studied and practiced every potion in his last five books until he could get them right practically by memory, he even did one blindfolded. Granted that wasn't the best idea, the pink sludge now adorning the east deserted wing now says that, but regardless he prepared for this exam and aced it
Transfiguration ~A
Thane didn't and still doesn't completely see the point in transfiguration. if he wanted a chair he could either summon one or just go ruddy buy one. Why would he waste the effort transforming a rock into a chair? It would probably be horrendously uncomfortable anyway! Needless to say, he basically scoffed his way through the class as well as the actual exam. The fact that there was a living kitten was the only reason he didn't actually fail, he really didn't want a cat ghost haunting him.
