[Open Class] First Aid 101 [Hayes & Virion]

NAME OF CLASS: First Aid 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket

General information: A general overview on basic illnesses a student might run into, as well as symptoms and quick fixes to things like breaks and deep cuts while on the go!

Each student is given a dummy to work on, though they may choose to partner up in fixing it.

Mechanics:
Roll 1 20-sided dice, what you roll is what your student gets to work with...

Dice Rolls and What they Mean!

1-4 - Broken Bone
4-8 - Fever
9-12 - Heat Stroke
13-16 - Hypothermia
17-20 - Lack of Bodily Function (such as breathing, pulse, etc) - this is unnaturally so.

After this, please roll 4, 4-sided Dice. Take into account their total and any repeating numbers

Total Results and their Meaning

1-6 - You do a rather poor job patching up your dummy, you might not want to try and heal anybody anytime soon!
7-12 - You do an average job, nothing extraordinary, but passable!
12-16 - Extra good work! Your student can now heal surface wounds!, but not repair HP! This means things like cuts and bleeding that might hinder another character can be patched up!

What Repeating Numbers Mean

No Repeating Numbers - You used just the right amount of supplies, good for you! Not wasteful at all.
Repeating 1s or 2s - You didn't use enough supplies, that's rather lazy and Cricket obviously disapproves of it.
Repeating 3s or 4s - You used too many supplies and that's wasteful! Naughty! Cricket might make you earn your supply rights back in a future class!

If you work as a group, split up the dice between yourselves as evenly as possible. So if you're paired up, each person rolls a 10 sided dice and you add up the results to get your dummy!

Then you split up your 4 sided dice to work on fixing it up!


Bonus Mechanics:
For every 3 times you attempt this course, your student may add +1 to their 4d4 dice roll's total to improve how well they patched up the dummy.

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are finished rolling both sets of dice and rping out the results. That means you have to START OVER to try again! You may do so in the same thread or a new one if you decide to attempt again at a later date.

Hayes had no idea what he had gotten himself into when he walked into Professor Cricket's classroom for First Aid 101. He wasn't too concerned with the well being of others, or so he said, and thus his reasoning for being in a class that taught you how to save lives? Who knew. Apparently it was a class an adviser told him would be a good choice. Whether an adviser told him or he happened to see an advertisement for it in the hallway and wanted to know how to help someone was really up for debate. Either way, here he was.

The boil approached a desk with a dummy hidden underneath a cloth of some sort. He had been put at a desk where a partner was required which meant he was left standing there, arms folded over his chest, waiting for someone to come in and claim him. The dummy. Claim the dummy. This was not going to be a pretty start. "Don't let it be someone loud." He silently mumbled to himself. Hayes had a real issue with loud noises that didn't really extend to creeple but he just wanted to learn--do this and get it over with.

Virion wasn't entirely sure why she was here. Her advisors had given her a list and said it was mandatory to attend at least a few of them. Not really knowing she could pick from the list and lacking the knowledge of what, generally, the topic of First Aid covered, she chose the first item on the list...

And was prompted sorted into a pair as the professor began an explanation of what was going on - none of which were concepts Virion had ever really, well, needed. Baffled, the wyvern stared at the body on the slab before her for a moment before looking up at her partner - a dog-eared boil that looked rather unimpressed. Huh.

"Why don't you just eat it?" She asked, confused. Free food was free food... if it wasn't going to fight, she didn't see the issue with taking advantage of an easy meal. As she spoke, her spores wafted around the table like a black mist, her wings folded against her such that they looked like a cape.

There were no words to describe what Hayes thought as a ghoul claimed him as her partner. Was that a cape? His red eyes had landed on it for a moment before following a few black spores that had descended onto the table. Okay. This was a new level for him. Shaking off the oddness of the moment he once more turned his attention to the ghoul that stood next to him. "I don't eat. . . bodies." He stated with an eyebrow raised.

Hayes let out a brief sigh. Better to get this over and done with. The boil grabbed the end of the cloth that covered the body and pulled it off. Next to it, on the table, was a tapped piece of paper that stated Hypothermia was what they would need to cure. "Hyp--mia." What was this? It took him a few minutes of thinking before he realized that just below that was a short description of what Hy-poe-ther-me-ah was. "We have to. . . Not kill it and warm it up." He looked over at his partner. "Do you have any idea how to do that?" Hayes was lost. So. Lost.

She shrugged, "Your loss. Easy meal, don't have to waste energy on catching prey."

As the cloth was pulled from the body, she looked intently at the false form and reached to poke it, obviously perplexed. Was it fake? Why was it fake? She didn't really understand what the point of this was... healing was something you did naturally, wasn't it?

Virion read the card as well, silently mouthing the syllables as if trying to see if it seemed familiar - it did not. But then Hayes said to not kill it (wasn't it already dead?) and warm it up.

The wyvern looked across at him, then pointed at the window where sunlight streamed through and pooled on the ground with a wing arm, her wing partially unfurling as the powerful revealed itself to be somewhere between wing and arm. "It's warm over there. Put it over there where it can sunbathe like a normal thing... Or I could cast explosions but that generally sends things flying and I don't think that's the point of this." Her tone made it obvious she wasn't sure what the point was, over all.
