[Open Class] First Aid 101 (Damaris) - DONE

NAME OF CLASS: First Aid 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket

General information: A general overview on basic illnesses a student might run into, as well as symptoms and quick fixes to things like breaks and deep cuts while on the go!

Each student is given a dummy to work on, though they may choose to partner up in fixing it.

Mechanics:
Roll 1 20-sided dice, what you roll is what your student gets to work with...

Dice Rolls and What they Mean!

1-4 - Broken Bone
4-8 - Fever
9-12 - Heat Stroke
13-16 - Hypothermia
17-20 - Lack of Bodily Function (such as breathing, pulse, etc) - this is unnaturally so.

After this, please roll 4, 4-sided Dice. Take into account their total and any repeating numbers

Total Results and their Meaning

1-6 - You do a rather poor job patching up your dummy, you might not want to try and heal anybody anytime soon!
7-12 - You do an average job, nothing extraordinary, but passable!
12-16 - Extra good work! Your student can now heal surface wounds!, but not repair HP! This means things like cuts and bleeding that might hinder another character can be patched up!

What Repeating Numbers Mean

No Repeating Numbers - You used just the right amount of supplies, good for you! Not wasteful at all.
Repeating 1s or 2s - You didn't use enough supplies, that's rather lazy and Cricket obviously disapproves of it.
Repeating 3s or 4s - You used too many supplies and that's wasteful! Naughty! Cricket might make you earn your supply rights back in a future class!

If you work as a group, split up the dice between yourselves as evenly as possible. So if you're paired up, each person rolls a 10 sided dice and you add up the results to get your dummy!

Then you split up your 4 sided dice to work on fixing it up!


Bonus Mechanics:
For every 3 times you attempt this course, your student may add +1 to their 4d4 dice roll's total to improve how well they patched up the dummy.

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are finished rolling both sets of dice and rping out the results. That means you have to START OVER to try again! You may do so in the same thread or a new one if you decide to attempt again at a later date.

Her mother had told her to experience all that she could while she was attending this academy. Especially their medical classes. It had taken her longer than it should have to find the class but she successfully found it.

The fawn ghoul regarded the professor with a polite greeting and a little bow.

Damaris was then given a heavy fake being to work on. She pulled the dummy along and flopped it onto the large, long table she had decided to work at.

Well, if she was going to be anything close to the healer her mother was, this was as good as any place to start!

She hadn't noticed until upon further inspection that there was a piece of paper attached to the dummy that read her assignment and had a small satchel pinned underneath it with a good number of supplies. Damaris was thinking it was a little much but time would tell if she would need it all.

"Heat stroke... Mother used to treat this a lot for the gatherers... This would be good to know how to treat..."

Damaris figured that using an extra amount of ointment on the dummy wasn't going to be too bad... Right?

It was apparently passable but she was going to have to convince the professor to let her get supplies outside of class for any more. The Terron couldn't help wanting to make sure that the 'patient' would have fully recovered. She'd need to watch herself better when out in the field.

"Ahh... At least the wound is okay..." Or at least she hoped.

She seemed to have passed the first one just fine so now it was time for another dummy for her to try out her slightly increased confidence.

Damaris hadn't thought that she was really going to pass on helping any of the dummies but it seemed she might be wrong.

The fawn ghoul returned the dummy in exchange for another for her to work on. It wasn't uncommon for her mother to work on multiple patients so it was nice to see that the class simulated that was well.

"So... Fever," Damaris muttered to herself after hauling the dummy back onto her working table. "Think I saw mom treat this a few times...?"

She applied the appropriate ointments to the forehead and throat with the clothe she had been provided and finished up with checking the 'patient's temperature with the back of her hand at the edge of the dotted hair line of the dummy.

The professor seemed rather impressed with her having redeemed herself a little in keeping track of her supplies and making sure to not over do it this time.

Damaris couldn't help the small smile at the curt nod she received from the teacher. Anything was better than nothing.

"Maybe mother would even be proud of me..." She'd like to think so since she seemed to be the only one of her sisters to want to follow in her mother's hoof-prints.

She heaved the dummy onto her back and gently sat it down next to her first successful healing. And she hadn't even had to use her horns to help out!

Damaris felt that that was the biggest boost to her. She didn't have to rely on the magic of her species to help others. Cause it could sometimes become tiring for her, especially at her age and skill of properly gauging her magic.

This next one was... Different.

The paper read 'Not breathing. Help IMMEDIATELY.' Damaris froze for a moment before frantically scrambling to try and help the patient dummy.

It seemed that this was not going to go as smoothly as the last dummy had.

Damaris had scrambled about, not really knowing what to do. She hadn't witnessed such an ailment so she cracked a little under pressure and started trying to breath into the mouth of the patient.

From the looks she was receiving, it was only half-right but the pounding on the dummies chest was not. She had even forgotten about the supplies she had been given.

The poor fawn slumped, pick up her dummy and placed it along side the rest of the dummies she had been 'operating' on.

"I... I would like to try again." The professor sighed and pointed over to another dummy.

Upon grabbing her next dummy, she heaved it over to the desk and tried to lay it down as gently as she could. Strength was not her strong point. In any way.

She examined the dummy and it seemed to look a little... Blue.

"Hippo... Oh! Hypo!... Hypo... Thermia... Mother said that a few times when helping the fishermen." Being colder than you should. Damaris would hope she would never have to experience such an illness.

Even with having used a little too many blankets, it seemed she had done a well enough job for her to pass. And for the professor to give her another curt nod of approval. But it seemed she'd definitely have to prove herself again in the future for her to use the supplies once more.

Damaris would! But now, she was glad that she now knew of how to properly help others when she is called upon to do so. Just like her mother.

A bright smile lit up her face before she bowed to her professor and exited the classroom with the happiness in knowing that she might just be somewhat useful in tough situations, if they ever came around her.
