There was an old saying, be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it. It was a shame that Senna had never heard of it, or he might not have wished for things to get interesting. Interesting was something falling out of the sky and through the branches of the trees and striking Senna square in the middle of the head.
The male made a violent hissing sound like an angry cat and jumped up, pressing his back around the tree and looking around wildly for the aggressor that snuck up on him. Amethyst eyes reflected his puzzlement upon seeing absolutely no one but himself on the branch, then lit upon a flash of color not natural to the area. He cautiously moved toward, slinking close to the wood with claws extended and tail up, ready to pounce in case his aggressor decided to attack again.
He gave the item a quick tap of his paw then bounced back in case this was all a trap, but the item didn't move. Curious, Senna moved forward and gave the object another tap. No movement again. He siddled his hidequarters up and tucked them under himself so he was sitting, and regarded the object with complete bafflement. It was slightly squishy but also stiff, and such a bright shade of orange it looked like a piece of the rising sun before him.
He scooted the thing closer and gave it a couple more taps, wondering where on earth it had come from? Was it part of the sun? If so, why'd it hit him? Senna loved the sun, it was so warm and cozy! Maybe he should bring this to Mama and ask her?

The soft sound of something striking foliage and the barely perceptible whistling of wind from a passing object were Senna's warning. He danced back, just as several more objects similar to the first came crashing down. A few bounced off his branch, sliding from the wood to continue the fall to the forest below. Several more thuds told him there were more of these things falling around him. One such object landed on his branch, near the first. He creeped towards it. It looked kind of like the first object, but the color was different. Bright green, like the best kind of grass. It certainly wasn't a piece of the sun, or even the sky! Neither sun nor sky were ever this brilliant a green. As Senna pondered this another crash, this one enormous, sounded in the forest nearby!
He immediately hunkered down to his branch, listening and scanning the forest. He heard a few sounds, like something big was moving around nearby, though he never saw what it was. Then then sounds grew fainter, and faded. He paused, then gathered up his two pretty objects and quickly vacated the tree. He found another of the bright colors on his way to the source of the loud sound, a pink the color of spring flowers. While keeping an eye out for more treasures and whatever the big thing was, he almost stumbled across a bag, propped against a tree. Senna eyed the bag. Something strange was sticking out of it. Bright white, like clouds or freshly fallen snow. He got closer, and peered down into the bag it was settled in. More of the bright colors were at the bottom, looking even brighter against the pure white of the thing that looked like flat, coarse ground. There were also some strange, thin sticks with bits of animal hair attached.
Intrigued, Senna slipped his pretty things into the bag and picked it up. Mama would probably find this thing very interesting! He looked around, eyes full of interest. He'd heard several objects fall. Maybe more of the colors were around here. Senna cast his glance around, then picked up the bag and hid it in a thick cluster of bushes. There! Now it was much better hidden, so that he could come back for it later. That done, Senna retraced his steps and went to look for more of the pretty colors.
(( I can't remember if I'd ever written a reply back to you, so made a new one! In this scenario I'm assuming Frostfall went one way, and Senna is searching in another direction for more of his "pretties" XD At some point they'll run into each other, but for now, delightful chaos! ))

Senna was feeling quite pleased with himself. He'd managed to find a couple more of the odd objects; a black darker than shadow, a purple even deeper than the color of his eyes, and a blue much darker than the sky. Senna had never seen a blue like that. The closest he could think of was deep water, but none of the watering spots around here ever achieved that kind of color.
He made his way back to the bag he had stashed, then froze. There, in the little clearing he had to pass to get to the bushes where the bag was hidden, was a Phim. He knew about them, and had seen one or two in the sky before, but this was his first time seeing one of the ground and so very close! Her coloring reminded him of the blue object he held carefully in his mouth. So pretty! He wondered if she'd lost any feathers? They would be nice to have as decorations, like the ones Mama wore. She might even like a feather herself to add to her necklace. Senna crouched, watching the Phim.
It was then that he noticed she was carrying the same little objects he was! The colors were different; red like sunset and blue paler than the sky, but they had the same general shape. Was she collecting the pretties too? She certainly seemed to be looking for something. Senna flattened his ears slightly. He was pretty well hidden, but should he move? If the Phim knew he was there, she might spook and he'd never get another chance at collecting pretty feathers.

Senna was a little bit startled and feeling a bit twitchy when the Phim started to sniff around, but when she pretty much stuck her head in the bush he was hiding in and came face to face with him, it was only pure iron will that kept him from jumping up or back. Well, maybe the bush had something to do with it as well. On did not jump up or back when hiding in a bush unless one wanted their fur horribly mussed and tangled, with some scratches to boot.
However surprised Senna was, it seemed the Phim was even more surprised. She let out the most amusing sound, then instantly fled to the trees. He noticed she'd dropped her pretties as well. If he was super lucky there might even be a few feathers! He could dash out, grab the pretties, then come back once he'd hidden better and look for some feathers.
As he got out of the bush and ran over, he glanced up at the pretty Phim. She seemed very interested in the pretty, and not at all happy that he had grabbed it. Perhaps he could use this to his advantage. He stared up at her, wiggling his tail in an almost feline matter, then took off into the trees. He didn't run too hard or fast, wanting to see if she'd give chase. It would be a fun game, and the more she ran around trying to catch him the more chance he had at getting one of those lovely blue feathers!
