[CYOA] Trick or Treat: Office Edition (Lock/Sludge)

Mr. X

Lock was glad they didn't have to harm the beast at all to get his shadows. While he would have been capable of culling the beast (he had certainly done so many times in Miasma Village), it didn't mean he felt happy about it.

Returning with the shadows, Mr. X was particularly delighted by his outfit and profession, and gave him extra candies. Well fancy that.

Professor Winter

At first they were turned away from a lack of costume. Lock sighed and used his new learned ability to summon his costume from Ms. Selene's class; a broom, a sword, blue fairy wings and a skull mask. Okay whatever.

Then they were asked to roar. Lock didn't want to jack roar.

"Roar," he said at a normal tone in a monotonous voice with a dagger-like glare. He was given 1 piece of candy for his valiant efforts.

Professor Winter

The request to roar was a strange one, as Sludge didn't exactly 'roar'. He made lots of noises, but that one wasn't exactly one of them.

Non the less, the xenomorph reared up with his hands held out and gave one of his patent screeches, which seemed to make Professor Winter happy enough to give him some candy.

Professor Walker

Lock was still a little shocked from the noise Sludge had made. It was ... frightening to say the least. Monsters were something else.

They walked until they located Professor Walker's office, a tiny closet barely capable of being referred to as an Office. Lock was a little grossed out by the bones (he enjoyed bone decor immensely, but not liquid oozing skulls and sloppy tissue demos), but made his way in to the dim lighting.

"We're here for candy," Lock said rather boredly, gesturing to Sludge.

There was a small bowl of candy situated next to some leg bones, and seeing as Professor Walker was largely uninterested in the event, Lock didn't feel bad stealing a few extra pieces. This was a good, hands off teacher. Lock approved.

"Come on," Lock said to Sludge, "Let's go."

Professor Walker

Sludge may have grinned at the evident surprise on the reapers face. It always felt good to frighten another creature.

he followed Lock quietly along, sometimes gazing at the small bag of candies he had amassed, or looking at Locks instead. He might have considered stealing some of his, but before the idea could really be considered they were at the next teachers office.

Inside the xenomorph eyes widened at the many spectacular display of bones, his mouth watering at some of the larger ones. But this desire to eat was tempered with the feeling that some of these things weren't fully dead, and he looked around the office, just encase one decided to jump out at them.

In one of the skulls he could see a bowl of candy, and he eagerly reached inside. As he grasped a few the skull made the strangest sound, and Sludge tore his hand away with a feral hiss.

He was only to happy to retreat when Lock said they would go; it didn't feel like a very safe place to be...

Professor Million Wagner

Lock let Sludge lead the way this time, eventually finding themselves at the office of Professor Million Wagner. In other words, one of Lock's feared teachers. He just didn't get all the jokes about humans and didn't get why a good old fashioned scare was worse than new techniques.

But you were bound to dislike at least some of your teachers.

A cup game? Guessing where a ghost was? Well this wasn't fair at all- this was just a random guessing game.

He pointed to the cup in the middle and, surprisingly, the ghost actually was there. "As I thought," he bluffed, taking his candy and gesturing Sludge do the same.

Professor Million Wagner

Sludge didn't understand any of the references, just staring at the teacher and her 'costume'

He then watched Lock pick the third cup with the ghost. and so he did the same, getting the ghost as well.

More candies for him!

Professor Selene & Argyle

Once again, another set of professors that demanded they be in costume. Lock sighed and summoned his costume from Selene's class (he hoped she was pleased by that) and slapped his blue wings on Sludge. Close enough.

They demanded a random human fact and Lock picked his brain- oh! Wait, he could use his superstitions class for this.

"Ah ... did you know humans hold their breath walking by cemeteries to prevent themselves from inhaling too much fear?" FACT.

Professor Selene & Argyle

Sludge seemed to enjoy the strange blue wings placed on his back, however he didn't realize they were of the fake kind, and crawling onto the desk, he jumped off it thinking he could fly.

He couldn't

"Huumans....nooo....frryyy"

The teacher seemed ot be judging him harshly, but he still got candies from him.

Professor Rengath

Seriously? Another professor that required costumes. Great.

Once more the costume was summoned and once more the wings went on Sludge. Lock was starting to get irritated and it was showing in the way he marched up to Rengath and demanded his due candy.

But Rengath thought it was all part of the gag and as such rewarded him even more candy. Incredible.

Professor Rengath

Sludge didn't know how he was supposed to act with wings, but he had seen someone with similar ones bounce around and act...well, weird.

So he jumped about the office and tried to laugh like a child. Not only was it weird but it was really, really creepy since it was more screeching then actual laughing.

He got a few candies for his efforts.

Professor Darcy

Lock just kept the damn costume on at this point. It was too much of a pain to please all these professors just for some freakin' candy.

Rather than night vision, Lock had lived underground for a good chunk of his life and was accustomed to seeing in the dark. It wasn't enough for him to see perfectly, but he could make out some shapes. A touch dramatic for his tastes.

He ran forward when prompted and knocked over a good deal of things. s**t. That was embarrassing. He took a good handful of candy and stuffed it into his bag. He was furious both with this activity and his newfound crimson face.

So he said a gruff, "Later," to Sludge and stomped away like the little baby he was.

Professor Darcy

Sludge generally had no problems navigating in the darkness, possessing good night vision, though this room was still hard to see around, and the xenomorph ended up tripping, grasping onto the desk to keep himself from falling outright. This earned the concern of the teacher, as well as some candies.

As he followed Lock out of the room, he grabbed a few more on the way before watching the reaper walk away in a huff.

Oh, were they finished now?
