Without question, this was the most hilarious mission Bastion had ever attempted. He'd done his duty for the horsemen not hours ago, by coming into the human world and gathering candy in order to deprive the children. Now, as he stood in front of the tiny, wavering teacher who was opening human candy bags to hand to them all, he was supposed to counterproductively add candies back into the world?
He'd decided to wear a covered costume this time, hiding most of his bodily features along with his face. It was the first thing he'd found when he'd broken into the store, and when he put it on, he realized that it was quite popular. Red, gold, and somewhat robotic, he was surrounded by children wearing the same costume.
At least he would fit in.

Another giant handful of candy was thrown into the pot. This time, it made less of a sound, which was helpful - because the door had swung open, and an elderly gentlewoman was hobbling outside of it. She yelped at the sight of him, but when she noticed her bowl was full, she assumed he wasn't stealing and decided to let him take one.
Again. Completely counterproductive.
He thanked the gentle lady, and she stood there, waiting for him to walk away. She couldn't see the look on his face, or the roll of his eyes, so when he turned to walk away, she called out a friendly, if not feeble, goodbye.

He waited. At least hiding in the dark was easy enough for him, despite the outlandish costume he wore. He waited, and watched as children came up to the doorway, and knocked. It took her exactly 45 seconds to get to the door, so he knew she was not exactly nearby. If he was quick, the next time she left it, he would be able to manage to fill the bowl with all of the remaining candy, and be done with it.
He could have considered going to another household.. but why.. why? He would only help this one human, and no others. That was a sound compromise.
The door closed, and he moved in to strike. He waited for 45 seconds to give her time to return to where she was, then leapt forward and hopped up the steps. He upturned the bag, and dumped almost the entire contents out into the bowl at once.

When he looked to the bag, he realized that there were still two candies stuck to the bottom, unable to escape. He reached in, fished for them, and dropped them both on top of the giant pile he'd made. This was the moment he heard some noise from inside of the door, and began to scurry away before he could be discovered. He ran from the house, all the way back to the portal starting point, in order to hand the little professor the bag back.
"I have completed this mission." He muttered, which made her give pause to his formal speech, and bend her head to try and look under his mask to see who he was. He feigned shyness, and backed away, jumping into the portal that headed back to Halloween Town.
He was not scared of the feeble little snake professor, but he knew that she could call upon assistance soon enough, and he was still unsure as to whether he was truly welcome here or not.
It was better to be safe, than to be sorry.
