Staring up at the name of the class pinned to the courses board, Indu felt that she had done this before. Wasn't there some sinnamon - no wait this was pumpkin spice. Personally she found the idea slightly uncomfortable. Pumpkins were special, the method in which young halloweeners came into the world. Flavouring based off them felt ... somehow wrong. And yet, you couldn't deny that pumpkin spice was something that existed. She wondered if anyone else found it odd. It was something she knew she'd have to deal with eventually, as Indu wasn't fond of letting troubling thoughts sit and fester. And this class looked like the place to face her slight feelings of unease! She firmly wrote down the classroom number and resolved to be there.

In class, Indu was given a bottle of talcum powder to spice up. Looking it over, she shuffled to take a seat. Well, this wasn't so bad was it? Humans used baby-scented powder on their humanlings, so pumpkin spice-d powder could be an equal comparison for use on scarelings. Perking up considerably, she spread out her belongings and looked up. Oh - she still had to get the spice. Hurrying back up to the front Indu was glad she had put her objects down as the jar of spice she had been handed was large enough to require both hands. It was at least three times larger than the bottle of powder - which made her wonder if she wasn't going to end up with powder-flavoured pumpkin spice. Lugging it back to her table, she reasoned with herself that she didn't need to use the entire jar - right?

Sitting down again and removing the cap from the spice jar, tilting it over the other and tapping it gently was ruled out. That would end with the aforementioned imbalanced spice vs powder ratio. Unscrewing the jar of talcum powder, she began to add a modest amount of spice via scooping it out with one hand, and taking pinches from that with the other. It was slow, but controlled, and Indu was certain that the moment things got out of control (or ... out of hand ...) then it would swiftly lead to madness. That was just the kind of way things went around here, she thought with a small flare of irritation at life in general. Nevertheless she felt pretty good about how this class was turning out in general. She was giving a hygienic bathroom product a faint feeling of youthfulness, rather than pouring a bucket of spice over a bat. It didn't feel like a waste of time, or a circus sideshow. Eventually, humming a little, she judged that there was enough spice, and dusting the rest off her hands and back into the jar, re-lidded both containers.

Showing her finished product to the teacher, Indu watched as it was inspected, opened, sniffed, and to her slight horror, tasted. Repressing a screech of 'that's not edible', she squeezed the front of her dress and kept her polite smile firmly tacked on her face. Taking the teacher's nod of approval as a 'success', Indu's smile perked up into an actual grin of delight. Thanking the teacher and taking the returned bottle, she strode proudly back to her desk. An easy class, an easy mark. While she wasn't sure exactly what the real point of the class was, it felt like half of them were simply made to amuse the teacher, personally she was feeling a lot more comfortable with the idea of using pumpkin in every-day scent related activities. Packing the powder into her bag, feeling slightly uncertain if she was supposed to bring it home or not, Indu gathered her belongings and left the classroom.
