Shaji stood towards the back of the sidelines on a blustery mid-morning, where a crowd was gathering to welcome back one of the raiding parties from a viking. Thralls skulked reluctantly beside their masters, some were there alone in their master's stead, and still others were there to meet their returning owners. Shaji himself had left Ildü back at his den, and charged her with bringing home some lunch. The lioness was still crude, snappy, and overall negative, which did not suit him much at all. He was still breaking her in, and some progress had been made, but it was not yet perfect. At least the pale one had quit complaining about her fate, by and large.
He watched as the lions came in with their hauls, watching with curious eyes to see what sort of goods they had managed to wrangle. A few more thralls for the pride, loads of food and treasure… He was grateful for all of them. It seemed their ranks grew mightier by the day, a blessing but a bit of a challenge too. Reavers like these and himself were responsible for carrying the pride by supplying thralls themselves.

Andhiya'o was inordinately pleased with herself. She was returning from her second viking, for one thing, and even better than that, she was returning with her very first thrall. He was quite a good catch, if she did say so herself, above average in size and in good health, if one ignored the bumps and scrapes resulting from the fact that she had knocked him unconscious and dragged him some fair distance. He also had a few clawmarks, since he'd forced her to get rough with him once he'd awoken from his involuntary slumber and she might have been a little overzealous about reinforcing who was in charge, but he had long since shut up and stopped complaining, and had trudged along with the band on their way home, requiring only the occasional shove.
He was still glowering at her in between darting looks for an escape route, but there were none to be found, especially not now. She gave him another good shove that sent him stumbling and snarled at him to stay put with the other thralls for now. She'd be back for him soon enough, and he could start getting used to his new lot in life.
Awareness of resentful blue eyes tracking her every move as she turned her back on him only widened her grin. Today was a good day.

As his eyes followed those returning home, one lioness in particular caught Ra'Shajirr's eye. He had certainly seen her before- he had made a mental note of her markings being that they were so similar to his own. However, that's about all he knew of her. Apparently, though, what caught his eye was that she was a good enough Reaver to bring home a thrall and not to treat it softly. He had noticed that some reavers were disappointingly gentle with theirs, and they were the most unruly and disrespectful lot. If those thralls ever came to interact with him, he always had to be the one to teach lessons, which was a disappointment.
She had made a mark on Shaji, and he needed to go speak with her, to know who she was. He moved through the crowd towards where she was, but not too quickly. Nothing was worse than a reaver acting like a starstruck cub. After he had made it over to her general area, he looked over the thrall she had caught. "Impressive catch there, care to share the story?" he asked with a rogueish grin. He knew that there was nothing he enjoyed better than telling his fellow Stormborn a glorious story from a viking.

She was finding it immensely enjoyable, having a thrall not just to order around, but push around. It was new and novel and quite delightful, really. And this was only the beginning! Oh, the things she could tell him to do so that she didn't have to do them herself - and useless things that she could make him do just because! The possibilities were endless, and endlessly amusing.
As she sauntered away from the brooding thrall, another reaver approached, one she didn't know but did recognize, from the spots and from the pelt he wore. Andhi made a mental note for herself that next time, she was going to get herself one of those.
There was a fleeting temptation to make up an impressive story to go with her impressive catch, as there had been when she'd first dragged him back to the band, but as before she decided that the amusing truth was story enough. "Damn fool's a heavy sleeper with a soft head," she answered with a chuckle and cheerful profanity, "Also just ********' heavy."
Inwardly, she preened at the attention her catch had garnered her.

"Very nice," Shaji commented to her with a grin. To his mind there's no wrong way to snag a thrall, a heavy sleeper is a blessing. Sometimes he felt that some members of the pride preferred a brute's way to accomplish everything- if a fight isn't involved it wasn't a good haul. However, Shaji sometimes preferred to be sneaky. It usually required more cunning and planning, he enjoyed the challenge. He enjoyed a brawl now and then, but stealth was honestly his favorite tactic.
He had some images running through his mind of how she managed to probably sneak carefully up on him only to find out that sneaking wasn't really necessary. He wondered if she simply clubbed him to keep him sleeping or if a rock was at all involved. He laughed heartily at her last detail about his weight. "I know the feeling! Is this guy your first thrall?" He had needed to do some dragging with his own thrall, but he was aided by others in his band to do so, so it didn't seem so bad. Plus Ildü, his thrall, was a lioness, where this reaver was a lioness herself dragging a heavier lion! "My name's Ra'Shajirr, I don't believe we've really met," he said frankly.

For her part, Andhiya'o was quite fond of brute force, but as a female of not even average size, brute force could only get her so far. Cleverness had to make up for the gap, a lesson she was only just beginning to learn; she was young yet, still convinced of her own relative invulnerability, and thus yet retained a tendency for bludgeoning her way through things without pausing to consider all the options. As thick-skulled as she was, it was going to take time and learning the hard way several more times to tame down some of her impulsiveness.
"He is," she confirmed proudly, pleased that he had laughed and still pleased that he had noticed. "I'm Andhiya'o. Nice to finally make your acquaintance and all that, Ra'Shajirr."Light Atago Sorry for the delay, got a bit busy. ;;

"Well congratulations are in order then, Andhiya'o" Shaji said smoothly glancing over to the new thrall. "You're going to love having one, damn useful creatures," he said thinking of his own. Though, he figured this one would be easier, in a way, than his own. He enjoyed a fiestier thrall though, so he really couldn't complain. His main hope was that she was only really resistant to him, he didn't like the idea of his pridemates having to deal with a mouthy thrall that belonged to him.
"So are you going to any celebrations tonight?" He found himself asking before he knew where his tongue was going. He hadn't meant it, particularly. Well, he had meant to spend more time with the reaver, but perhaps not so forwardly. "The after party is usually not something to miss, if you like mint anyway," he added to her with a bit of a sideways glance.Meepfur ((No worries I've been so horrible D8 Also I think I've inadvertently spammed you with quotes and I'm sorry for that if so!
